- Race season continues and this week we follow Reece to the PTO-backed half Outlaw event in Holkham, UK!
Reece competed in this event 5 years ago and took first place on the day. 5 years on and a massive improvement in performance was not good enough for a podium position this time around.
Reece discusses how much the sport has evolved in this time and what it will take to keep up with the fast pace of the pros in triathlon!

Completely agree with your criticism of the PTO's AITs. Not only do they not give any information as to how they're calculated but the ideal times seem so inconsistent week to week

Glad you will race separately a little more often Reece, you're a phenomenal athlete and it will be great to see you get camera time like this. Yes I normally always put race number on under wetsuit unless the rules are not to do so.

Lucy will win Kona one day for sure, but no chance at all for Reece and I think he knows that as he is talking about the progress of the professional triathlon sport in general is bigger than his own progress.

Related with race points, since PTO represents the PROs. Are you guys talking about changing the point system?
We still don’t know how the points are calculated, so 1st we just want to understand the system before suggesting improvements

Hi Reece! What's your take on simply making all races "draft legal", like in shorter formats? Wouldn't it bring more dynamics / tactics to the race, and avoid the debates that now take place systematically?

I think a few longer races in that format would be really exciting, but definitely do not think all races should go draft legal.
