Nicely produced casting that, Michael, coming apart a little unusually. The sun visors add strength to the windscreen surround and having the folded roof already moulded in place makes things easier to reassemble. I like it, though it looks a wee bit small for a 1:43 - is it a 1:50? The chrome cleaned up well enough and the colour is just right for the time of the car - I almost remember seeing one of these knocking about in the Eastern Province of Saudi, years ago: if memory serves, HH King Khaled's personal bodygaurds bombed about in a fleet of these, painted blood red! Nice result, Squire!

I doubt they have been imported before that, I have never seen them in shops or at flea markets before, and wonder where they all come from. as if israeli sellers ship them to europe for a coin or two? anyway, they are nicely detailed models (though I'd have preferred opening hoods instead of bonnets, am I supposed to stuff my allowance into that booty? XD), and seem to range from 1964 to 1969 or so. I'll have to start my research engine one day and look that up. :)

I have some of these models; 1:50 seems too small for them, maybe it's more like 1:45. there is no scale stated on the bottom. :)

Many thanks for your comments. I prefer opening parts bonnet /hoods to see the engine, the boot/trunk to pack suitcases and doors
