Gordon Ramsay, a man known for yelling, doesn't yell at the wait staff for what is going on in the kitchen. Neither should you.
Why would you in the first place..
WILHELM Well that’s a different situation isn’t it?
THANK YOU!
I’ve come across so many people who are pissed at the servers for mediocre food or for their food taking a long time. Trust me, we’re bringing the food out as fast as it is coming out of the kitchen. We don’t cook, we only serve the cooked food.
Working as a cook, I will say there’s a weird intimidation of the kitchen that our servers have for the most part. But I guess (at least in my case) when they yell at the line, they end up being wrong and feeling foolish. That’s not to say that it definitely doesn’t happens vice versa. Especially when you can’t keep anyone and 3 out of 5 cooks are basically brand new. But yeah don’t take shit out on your service staff if they are honestly trying, they don’t deserve that shit from some nobody.
Exactly. Unless the server messes up there's no reason to get mad at them
8 years later, this place is still running after Gordon's Rework, honestly amazing how they took an advantage of the rework. Too many times that I've seen these episodes and the next year or even less they close. Respect to David and Sukie for taking advantage of this.
Tbf, the hotels do *way* better at staying open compared to Kitchen Nightmares
@@ienzio7795 That's probably because Hotels have more ways for income. You don't need the restaurant to be packed if you rent out your whole hotel. It's a nice bonus but I'd bet room cost plus bar is way more profitable.
Yesss. I’ve done a lot of research about him because i thought he was just an arse. But I 100% see his views. These people beg for his help and less than half take it. Also to mention a lot of these places were soo much in business and personal debt and that’s not an snap of the finger fix. And some also were through the recession in earlier seasons. Gordon got tired of being blamed for their failures.
@@meadowsmama9423 What I've seen from being around some restaurant owners is for a lot of them it is their dream. Their baby. It can be very hard for them to hear constructive criticism. They look at it as him bruising their ego.

@Kevin2382 At a glance, that would seem right. But then again, it only really sounds like they're behind maybe 2 years worth of the business' taxes. It looks like a large, extremely expensive lot. I've seen way smaller commercial property sell for 5 million and I'd hate to imagine what a lot like that costs to maintain.

Gordon is always respectful and polite to the waiters/waitresses, they hold no blame for the restaurants failures. The only employees he lays into are the horrible chefs, who need the harsh criticism, and the managers who definitely deserve part of the blame.

900k in debt is a lot... Especially when you lack customers and haven't got a clue. I mean, the man laughing as he learns his wife failed pretty much says it all.
For most of them Gordon just keeps it simple and stupid: local ingredients, small menus, nothing too extravagant, but elegant, simple cooking. Shouldn't be that hard to figure out to begin with...
This dude built up a 900k debt and didn't change anything, only to call Gordon - probably just because the bank refused to sink any more money into it. It's like walking around in front of your house as it burns down, only to spring to 'action', calling the fire department after half the building is already gone. That doesn't bode well. Actually this episode is quite moving and emotional at some parts, the couple owning and running the hotel had a decent hotel before, but in a subben car accident almost died the husband, who had 30 years experience in hotel business, so they couldn't maintain the hotel properly: they had to sell everything, I think the bank took their home, and they were living in a small windowless room (in the hotel, sometimes didn't leave the building for a week).
After Gordon Ramsey helped them, they got new shef, new home, and a new chance. (They are still running the business, if I heard correctly, it has 4.9 stars)
This was one of the best episodes I've seen so far, and in this case the owners weren't simply incompetent, but had a very serious (real) issue(accident), resulting in decline.
what's the episode and season?
