I been singing 21 years, w vocal lessons and then I see stuff like your work. Just makes me think people work SO HARD for what they have. And sometimes it’s natural talent, which demands using it for God’s glory.
@@nei_hmande2427 I agree! I actually have a Christian metal album in the works right now. In my experience to sing these songs you do need to work hard still even if you have a lot of natural talent, maybe I just haven’t met people with that level of natural gifting though
@@StephenCooper71 totally cool! Thanks for sharing that. People really earn what they get. Even Celine Dion has sung since she was very young and look at that result!
That “seize the day” one is amazing, but to me it sounds like Matt even went to the high F5 note instead of the C5 in the “kiss” in the “or KISS your lips again” part, no? But even without that, your version is very impressive
I actually debated that for a little bit, I do not think he did an F5 there and didn’t want to stray too far from the originals or give away that higher note so that the video builds up to higher and higher notes. I just listened a little more just to be sure and he may have gone a little sharp but still it’s close to a D5 I believe. If you want to check out my acoustic version I did do an F5 there for fun. I will say I sang a C5 on the word “your” and he stayed on a D5 so that is a slight difference. Regardless, thanks a ton!
I got here through this video and just wanna say that you are completely unbelievable. Your voice is unique and your technique is simply flawless. I'm completely mermerized by your talent. Keep it up, you'll reach million faster than you think!
Hey Stephen! Incredible, as always! I have been following you for a while now and have seen your progress - amazing! You impressed me before with the great range and voice control, but now with this vocal compression added on top of all this ... congrats man - you've done a great job! I am also currently working on that - based on your experience, do you have some advices on how to start implementing the compression? Thanks, keep rocking!
City of Evil is my favorite A7X's album, I think everyone on the band was in their prime years! Really good to hear some of its songs on your voice! Plus liked and sub for "I Won't See You Tonight Pt. 1", that shit is REALLY hard to sing! Keep up! 😁😁
It looks like you learned to add grit and distortion over the years. Did you work with a coach on that or what? Looking for some recommendations. Thanks!

Holy shit, those are more or less all the lines I thought - "Damn Shads is insane"... And you sang em all! EDIT: The only thing missing is some of the bonkers stuff off Diamonds in The Rough, like Tension, or Crossroads and 4Am...would be amazing if you'd cover that but this is already solid gold.
How do you know what notes to sing? Do you just sing random notes that sound the best within the key or are you using yours ears to find them? I’m a beginner when it comes to singing and I want to know how to sing some of these songs. Very great voice!
@@yaboifranks4042 thank you! I just use my ear. One of the foundational aspects of singing is developing a good sense of pitch. I’ve found the best way to do this is to use a tuner app or piano and try to match notes exactly, really taking your time. Then recording yourself and playing it back, comparing it to the notes of whatever song or exercise you’re playing and trying to make them match.
