This is the first video where I switch to a new video format, there's less talking and more work, lol. Make sure you stick around until the end, I will discuss this weeks project and give another update on the fridge kiln, enjoy, and please share! Jim

What a nice surprise to finally get one of these wedding bowls after 28 years of marriage! Ha ha! Thank you honey! I love it! Xo
It’s long overdue, love you xoxo.
Aww, so sweet, just goes to show it's never too late!
We may have found you randomly but we come back on purpose. I rather enjoy your talking through the videos!!
Ok thanks, possibly some voiceovers might be the answer. Jim.
What a beautiful gift for your wife. You did it Beautifully.
Thanks!
The most darling gift! 💖 I didn't think you had any videos that were quiet, it was a bit surprising but due to the project, made it even more special because you didn't give anything away. I did miss your "rambling" glad you still do.
Oh thank you!
I like your rambling on. That’s how I’ve learned so much from you.
Awesome! Thank you!
I like it much better when you communicate with us on your video. Love you.
Awe, thanks auntie
Great looking bowl Jim. No issues with no words during videos. I typically do the same thing. However, if you're doing something unique and want to give details about it that's always appreciated!
Thanks, I was just sick of hearing myself repeatedly, lol. Jim.
I prefer your commentary as your turning. Like your woodturning.
Ok, thanks. I will try some voiceovers in the future. Jim.
I thought it was a perfect anniversary gift. I'd definitely not be upset to get one! Beautiful!
Thanks for watching
What a nice surprise for your wife. It is really beautiful.
She loved it!
Also, thanks for your service, Jim. 🇨🇦
It was an honor to serve my country, thanks!
Great bowl. I watch you to learn so I am disappointed you won't be doing as much talking but totally understand. Just glad we get to see the process. I have been turning since July of this year. Still so much to learn! Thanks for letting us into your world!
Thanks Darryn. I will try to find a balance between the two styles. Jim.
Love this kind of videos, with less talking! Awesome job, beautiful bowl!
Thanks Jeanette, your the minority, lol.
@@SpragueWoodturning It seems like it! But regardless if you keep talking or not, I'll continue to follow your amazing work. :)
It is absolutely stunningly beautiful and magnificent and spectacular. Your work is outstanding.
Thank you very much!
That's a spectacular piece of walnut Jim!! Well done! Congrats on marrying a keeper!!
Thanks 🙏, I’m lucky ☺️
Very, Very impressive👍
From Russia with love♥️😁

Best gift for newlyweds. Quite elegant Jim!
Thanks 🙏
What a marvelous wedding gift. Or anniversary gift. It is so beautiful
Thanks 😊
Jim... while I do like the new format I enjoyed your discussion while you were working.
Ok, thanks. Just trying to find a balance between the two. Jim.
Great video,, TY for not ruining it with music.
Lol, no problem. Thanks.
I love hearing your commentary as I watch your videos. It is really helpful to me as someone looking to get into wood turning. That being said, it is your channel, it’s your decision.
Beautiful bowl and happy belated anniversary!
I’m just trying to find a happy balance. Possibly some voiceovers. Thanks
I have not done a rim inlay before, but I am now inspired to try it. Thanks again!
Great! Give it a go, thanks.
I love the rambling, LOL
Really i want to know what you're doing. I realize that you have change the format again and I want to know more. So, thank you and great work, The wifey love it I'm sure.
She did, thanks for watching!
I like the talking throughout better. Missed the tips and tricks that are given. I like the format from earlier more. Keep up the work..
Thanks Eric!
Lovely bowl. But I am glad you did not stick to this format. I prefer the rambling as you call it. So does my husband who listens while I watch.
Thanks 😊
Awww such a beautiful bowl for your lovely wife! Very nice bowl!
Thank you so much 😀
I'm saying it again. You are flawless and a turning god lol
Thanks 🙏
This one of your best bowls and the finished product is strikingly beautiful....good work Jim. You don't ramble....I know rambling....your running narratives are always helpful and interesting. Best wishes and stay healthy....eh!
Thanks, I’m just trying to find a good balance between video styles. It’s still a work in progress. Jim.
Jim, thanks a lot for your rapid response to my question. Loved your video and admired your technique, thanks!
Thanks again.
I made a bowl with an inlay she wanted dark blue I settled on glitter I left the glitter down low and fill the rest in with clear resin turned out really nice thanks for the information you get a thumbs up
Thanks Terry!
Hey Jim, I still like to hear your explaining every so often in the videos. I love that wedding bowl!! Congratulations on 28 years ! Cheers, Paige C.
Thanks Paige!
The Wedding Bowl is Awesome.
Thank you very much
Beautiful bowl. I hope your wife loves it. You were very quiet today. Just started my first soap stone inlay, hopefully it will look half as nice as your bowls.
Just trying a new video style. Thanks for watching.
I missed you talking during the video. How ever you decide to do your videos I will be watching . Beautiful bowl, wish I could have given my wife one.
Awesome, thanks Billy.
Beautiful bowl. congratulations on your anniversary and you don't ramble. I love your commentary.
also so glad you don't add music. diana
What? You don’t want to listen to Heavy Metal 🤘, haha. Thanks Diana!
Masterpiece as always, I too enjoy your discussion.
Tex
Thanks Tex!
Really enjoyed your sense of style & your skill set. Learned a lot. Look forward to seeing more of your work.
Best wishes. - Dennis
Thanks Dennis, make sure to checkout my other inlay videos on my channel too, lots of great info there as well.
I missed your voice! Is it possible that what you believe is rambling, we understand it to be education? The wedding bowl is o.u.t.s.t.a.n.d.i.n.g! And the idea is lovely.
I was trying out a different video format on this one. I just do total voice overs now, thanks
What an awesome anniversary gift!
Thanks 😊
Sorry didnt get to see the whole project my you tube connection went crazy. But what I saw was AMAZING.
Thanks Sydney!
Loved the video format, thanks for showing us what tools you are using, including the subtopics.
No problem, thanks.
Just finished one for my wife. Thanks for the idea and example.
Great! Thanks for watching!
Great format Jim. You’re a great inspiration
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful Jim...as always 🍾🥂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks 😊
Yet another beautiful bowl
Thanks Adam!
Beautiful wedding bowl,Jim! Congratulations on your Anniversary! However,I enjoyed your talking videos!
Thanks John, I’ve got one coming out on Friday with voiceovers. Jim.
Always enjoy your commentary as well as your work. As a fellow turner I get allot of good info from your videos. Congratulations on your anniversary!
Thanks Larry!
Beautiful job.
And i hope you change your mind about the commentary it's very useful to hear you explain what you are doing to someone like myself who's just starting turning. 👌👏
I think voiceovers are the way to go,that way I can shorten up the videos but give the same level of info. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful bowl and I'm sure she going to love it
Enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Awesome thanks, and she loved it. Jim.
Nice project, nice occasion to remember! I like both video formats. Maybe a few hundred more tries and I'll be able to cut that last interior finish cut as smooth as you do.
Thanks Michael, it’s taken me thousands of bowls, lol.
Nice bowl I love your work its always brilliant be safe
George Pauselli thanks George!
Happy Anniversary! Nice piece. Thanks for sharing.
No problem Jude, thanks for watching!
I liked you talking during the videos, the bowl looks great. Congrats on 28 years.
Thanks Gary.
Beautiful bowl Jim. Happy anniversary to you and your wife. I don't think you ramble at all and prefer your commentary throughout the video, I do understand the need to try different things though. I'll keep watching no matter what format you choose.
Thanks Tim!
Wow that's a beautiful bowl Great job
Thanks Rich!
It's beautiful, like all your stuff!
Thanks 😊
What a great bowl.
Thanks Nancy!
I really enjothis series on inlays
Great! Thanks for watching!
I love it! Great job! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks 🙏🏻
Beautiful grain, love your videos.
Thanks Greg!
I love your vids, with the talking. Another great looking bowl.
Thanks 🙏🏻 Mike!
Great looking bowl, love the inlay. I don't think you rambled, I have learned a lot from you in your past videos. But I understand trying different approaches. I'm a new wood turner (since July) and I just launched my own TH-cam channel this week: Piedra Designs; will be trying different formats as well. Gotta keep the viewers happy! (But I have to get some first!)
Keep up the awesome work/videos.
Thanks, it’s not easy being in front of a little object that doesn’t talk back to you when you talk to it, haha. Best of luck, Jim.
That is so cool absolutely beautiful
Thanks 😊
Preferred you talking, but what beautiful bowl. The grain is perfect...
Thanks, walnut is king.
Jim, I like it when you talk about what you are doing. Please don't add music, yuk! I have gone to practically all hot melt glue on waste blocks as I was tired of running into screws. Nice job, very appropriate.
It’s the only way in my mind, haha. Thanks for watching
This is beautiful ..I really like the copper inlay ,very pretty against this wood.
Thanks Christine, I use brass savings in this bowl not copper.
Eaitiful bowl Jim. Very nice work.
Thanks Doug!
Beautiful job. 👌👏👏
Thanks Lewis!
I just watched the video that you linked to me. It was really good I enjoyed it thank you
Thank you very much!
@@SpragueWoodturning your welcome
Loved the piece! Thanks.
Thanks 🙏
Will have to try something like this.
Please do, thanks
Stunning!
Thanks 😊
Great piece Jim
Thanks 🙏🏻
Gorgeous bowl!
Thanks John!
I really missed your discussion of what is happening! 😧 You have NOT been rambling!!!! 😡 please put the discussion back in!
Okay, that’s done... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and your wife!! 💫👏🎂💕🎊🎁 please Let us know how she liked the bowl 😃
Well thanks, lol. I’ve got a couple more coming up so it will be interesting to see how people react to them. She loves the bowl and was completely surprised. Jim.
@@SpragueWoodturning I missed your discussion of what you were doing and why, too.
@@TheKjoy85 just trying different video formats at the time. I now pretty much just do voiceover videos now.
I would love something in between full narration and no narration. I really learn a lot from you!
Got a voiceover video coming this week, thanks. Jim.
excellent as always, thank you! And who says you ramble?! Either the new format or the older one suits me; just make sure your commentary is on there somehow, please. Best Hugh
Thanks Hugh
nice work uncle jim
Thanks Joe!
Happy Anniversary
Thanks 🙏
Very nice,, thanks for sharing
Thanks 🙏
beautiful bowl.
Thanks 🙏
Loved this
Thanks 😊
Very beautiful 💙💙💙💙
Thanks 😊
Beautiful!
Thanks 🙏🏻
@@SpragueWoodturning If I may put a suggestion out there, I think you're on the right track by changing your format. Your work is beautiful and it's a very relaxing experience. While I see the value of your suggestions and feedback on your own work, it doesn't really conform to the experience, it kinda breaks it in a way. If I were you, I would separate the two things, with relaxing 10-15 minutes videos with no talks on one side, and practical informative videos on the other, where you can talk about interesting features of your work, how they came to be, the difficulties that you encountered and how you overcame them. Or you can find your own way of intermixing the two, very hard to do but if made well it will really make you stand out, check ThisOldTony's channel to see what I mean. No matter which way you chose, you can greatly improve by adding background music. Kevin McLeod is a composer that creates great royalty free music that you can use on monetized videos. Stay away from music that comes with a subscription, some of those companies are pretty shady and will claim your monetization sooner or later once your subscription expires. Hope it help and thanks for taking the time to entertain us.
Very lovely 💙💙💙💙
Thanks 😊
That is so sweet. On me and my wife's 10th anniversary too. You saved 2020. I far prefer the format where you talk about what you are doing through the video.
I’m hearing that a lot, I’m just trying to find a balance between the two, possibly a voiceover? Thanks 🙏
Beautiful bowl as always, thank you. I personally liked when you talked throughout the video to explain what you were doing.
Thanks, just trying to find a good balance, possibly some voiceovers will be better. Jim
Very pretty
Thanks 🙏
Great video!
Thanks 🙏
Hi Jim.. I really love the look of that bowl.. so beautiful.. I have to say I’m very disappointed you didn’t use real gold though 😉.. it’s my wedding anniversary coming up; I’m tempted to try something similar as a surprise for the missus, but might resort to gold pigment in resin.. p.s. always enjoyed your rambling, but will continue to get great pleasure out of your content whatever approach you feel is best..
That should work just fine as well. I’ve contemplated trying goal leaf somehow. Jim.
Beautiful bowl! Susanne loves it, I’m sure! Like a lot of other comments, I like hearing your voice, as you are very informative 😊.
Thanks 🙏
Nice project & nice anniversary date. Same as my wife and I, we're just in the lead by a few years, 1987
Thanks Ken!
another Stunning piece man. Id love to see some footage of you mounting the glue blocks for the 2nd turning.
Confused? The block stays on until the bowl is done. I don’t change them. Jim.
@@SpragueWoodturning I don't know for sure that this is what he is talking about, but I would like to see some more about how you make your glue blocks/faceplates.
I will try to cover it in the next video, thanks.
Love that finish. That turned out beautifully. Great job Jim.
Awesome, thanks 🙏
Ramble on 👍
Lol 😆
So sweet!
Thanks for watching
Beautiful job Jim. Your inlays are amazing. I love that Finish also.
Thanks 🙏
real nice...
Thanks 🙏🏻
Love it nice job on the inlay! And yes the General finishes bowl finish is excellent thanks for the advice!
Thanks Stephen!
