@@TurnNBurn no I installed the slider, and I actually bolted the four bolt plate that the axe head is held by under the body tub instead of how its supposed to be, functions the same. I'll PM you a picture on the forum as to how I did it
10:16 i feel like you should triangulate the transmission shield with something on the front, i wanna say the spring mounts, but who knows how that'd rip them apart, what with murphy's law.
Have you re-torqued the head bolts after the initial run in when replacing the head gasket? I believe it is recommended to re-torque them after a break in period.
Soft compound on those tires. Looks like my fresh Maxxis' do after the first romp and i only get soft compound ones, like really soft because i like grip. This... can also mean they cheaped out on the compound, i mean, even tho Maxxis has these soft tires, they're not breaking apart that fast, they just have that look your tires have, like shredded, used.
My 78 CJ5 has the T18A in it. Love that transmission!
Now if I could get my hands on an old flat fender Willys my life would be complete.
👍😄👍
You are one persistent, and skilled Jeep man!
That's what it's for , having fun 👍👍🇺🇸
what a wonderful jeep you have!! really beautiful! wow!!
I was gonna ask if youd looked into the big willys rock sliders, if so I'd like to see how they hold up to offloading, like you do
I bought them before the trip but ran out of time. Just finished installing them, hid the damage well!
@@TurnNBurn yea I have them on my MB clone and I love the ruggedness that they add to the sides and they dont get in to eat of the tools neither
Did you cut the slider around the axe to make it fit?

Yep, also tried 2 different head gaskets and copper gasket spray. Engine was not decked, which should always be done on a flathead
Well done,
you build your roll cage or bought it? if bought where you get it

All you need is a toolbox to fix a Jeep and it will be operational again!
Are those factory axles holding up OK?
Yeah, just have to be easy on them, no rock bouncing or clutch dumping on pavement. In the future I am converting the rear to full float
In your experience what would be the best add ons to a stock 2a to help protect the body longterm?
Big Willy rock sliders
