1ShayDawn This story really makes me want to go out there at that spot and shoot up those annoying ass law enforcement, if they are going to treat THEIR OWN PEOPLE like nothing I'm going to treat them like nothing
Are you talking about Sophia? The eco terrorist who blew her arm off making an IED to throw at cops? I hope she gets all the terrorism charges in the book thrown at her.
Send me one link that isn't complete bullshit saying it was from a concussion grenade. I hear and see all kinds of bullshit from the internet and it makes me sick that people buy it. Maybe if you were born and raised where these things are actually happening you would have a better idea.
AllUpINC no the pipelines are not safe you can see that in the history and it is sacred land it is their land have we not already took enoughfrom these people how much oil do we need seriously and every oil spell that has been claimed to be cleaned up is not in fact that is all no need to reply
John Funches he's been missing in action in the black community for eight years brother do you actually think he would do something for the Native Americans also?
InkCricket C well that's a conservative lie, e.g. The My Brother's Keeper initiative, repealing the mandatory minimum guidelines of law set forth by Clinton, brining the unemployment rate down to 4.9%, and having almost every police investigation under Federal watch. So can we be factual? Not follow neo-con talking points of fiction.
The Sleeping Senator of the Islands I ❤️ President Obama, but Trump is President-elect, and not in yet. This is still his watch. He has been an organizer of the community, so he could at least hold this drilling. Trump won't.
how about we dont forget that this happened under our govmnt. bought and paid for politicians who serve corporate interest. they are all guilty, not just oblama.

peaceful protests dont do anything. however, these arent riots, they arent destroying anything. they are protecting. cops show up with the riot weapons and gear. THEY are trying to start riots
This is Insane haven't the Natives suffered enough? And now this hypothermia, rubber bullets and pepper spray. I still support these guys screw the 1 percent. If this pipeline gets built there will be more extremists then I can only imagine what will happen next.

So like if a corporation performs what would be considered an act of war then its not outlandish to have people form militias. Its not as insane as trying to take on the government where it would be a losing battle with no real end game. A corporation could be ended without any over the top consequences.
Russell Meakim I would hope so. But I don't even see the difference between corporations and government :/ I'm not even American but I feel the same about my government too.
There are very big differences between the two. For one toppling a government would be catastrophic in most cases causing all kinds of problems. Toppling a corporation would be inconvenient for some people but it would mostly send a message.
I mean this is a video of someone getting shot in the head. I am kind of surprised this doesn't result im an armed response honestly. Its mercenaries doing this not the government.
Gringo Amigo You live in a southern region? I just recognize they are doing their job. Those people are protesting on private property, and unlike other protests police are being careful not to let anything escalate to felony level and I appreciate that.
Quadrunner No, they aren't doing their job. Violating a burial ground, forced construction without permit, not to mention, building oil pipelines known to leak often, and it goes through the Mississippi river, which millions of people drink from. The cops should be arresting the people responsible for this project at Dakota Access Pipelines. They're nothing more than mercenaries paid to protect corporate interests. I'm guessing you probably live in the south, since the vast majority of the cousin fuckers seem to think cops are incorruptible. Dumb Bible thumping fucks
Gringo Amigo I'm against it too but the project is legal, and on private property. I've not confirmed any burial grounds. That seems to be more of a general political thing, like their ancestors lived and died in that region. The indians have a right to protest. Pipelines don't leak often, but in North Dakota, there is a problem and I don't blame anyone for not trusting the company in this region. I personally would not want the pipeline across my river, because when they do go, they really go. We've had a lot of problems with trains too though. I live in North Dakota. If you watch uncut footage you'll see the police are doing their level best. They give these guys absolutely every chance, but its their job to enforce the law, and the Indians understandable position to resist it. This isn't like you would see in a coastal state where cops are willingly trying to bust balls. They are approaching the issues reluctantly and do what they have to in a progressive fashion. At this point, for many months, we are just seeing a conflict of interest and police efforts to ensure order, which is their job. Can't blame them. I don't know anything about the south, but our police do have a tendency to care about us more in small towns where they seem to have a better perspective of serving. The company has hired its own team to protect its property, which it has a right to do, and they've been pretty quick with their measures, arguably inhumane. The federal government has intervened and is "looking into" this as we speak.
I completely object to eminent domain being used to further the cause of a private corporation! The ONLY time it should be invoked is for PUBLIC projects, such as roads, bridges, and public infrastructure! Corporations and businesses have no right to grab up people's property in order to turn a profit! I have seen this principle being abused more and more in the last few decades, and it's sickening. These businesses must be stopped in favor of the welfare of the people. It sounds like common sense, but it's not playing out that way. Just disgusting and disheartening!
***** I'm not saying I don't care. I'm saying if you really care go and do something about it. Or do you think TH-cam comments equate to an effective form of protest?
Dom C If people cannot be there at North Dakota then you can donate money, food, necessities to the Water Protectors. They're ways to be involved without directly being there.
Ariel Reyes Really? Please provide an example where protesters have successfully changed the course of events by waving placards rather than just get themselves arrested. Sad but true.
bigbaddawg101 afterwards the cops said it must have been a homemade bomb that the indians made that accidentally detonated that took that ladys arm off, not the grenade that the cop threw. complete bullshit
I live right next to where that pipe line will end , the refinery is four blocks away, their preparing now with construction , drive pass it every morning on the way to work
AboxoroxRoxursox Guns will not solve this, that's exactly what these oil pushers want, they want the Water Protectors to get violent so they have an excuse to exterminate them. If 100,000 peaceful protesters showed up it would send a more impacting message.
What's sad is that I was watching a livestream of the events as they were happening at Standing Rock, and while the person filming was on the phone with a mainstream media outlet giving them permission to use his footage and explaining what was going on, they were using his footage to wrongly report what was going on. They reported that the water cannons were being used to put out fires started by the protectors when in fact we watched as the protectors rushed to put out the fires that were caused by the various projectiles used by police like concussion grenades. It's utterly reprehensible the way the mainstream media is spinning the story.
Standing Rock needs 100,000 people and a billion dollars in resources to start personnel rotations, and constructing protective barriers from the corporate goons. If you're in your twenties, and thirties and you're looking for that big adventure you need to get to Standing Rock right now. Setup shop for the longest battle of your life. This is the front line of the culture war.
Hey now even if what your talking about is relevant does that mean cops should be shooting unarmed protesters in the head? The answer is no, you should not shoot people in the head even if you disagree with them. Rubber bullets or lead bullets.
The bottom line here is that the Oil Company just didn't do its due diligence prior to taking on this project. Now, it's paying off the government to protect its stupid investment in it. When did the government get into saving corporations from bad investments again? Oh right, 2009.
Nah they've been doing it since at least Bill Clinton. Honestly since before then. In the past, margarine was outlawed and had propaganda against it because the butter industry lobbied for it.
It saddens me that Jimmy isn't speaking up on this issue that he knows more than enough about. He's almost the outcast of the panel at this point, and while Ben is pretending he doesn't know why this is happening, Jimmy seems reluctant to speak the truth.
Reality4Peace Agree with paulzyuan. The purpose of the media covering dapl is to get people mad enough to act. Jimmy does that on his show. These other clowns are having the opposite effect. Explaining standing rock in terms of societal norms and all that crap. We were already sleeping...
Bad Cattitude So what happens when they complete construction, the pipeline ruptures and the water supply for millions is threatened? Then what? It's not a matter of IF that will happen it's a matter of WHEN.
Both N. Dakota and S. Dakota are stand your ground states. I'm surprised it isn't uglier than it already is. If both sides stand their ground then the standoff becomes war.
It was war when the first Indian treaty was broken. You can only be a human bullseyes and target practice for so long. Can't just stand there and get shot at forever. Where are all the angry protesters protesting for human rights, Bernie supporters, gay rights, women's rights, people against bad police, and Trump protesters? Native Americans in the Dakotas aren't a priority for them I guess? Where is the major media not covering this enough? If it isn't about blacks vs whites the media won't give it any priority.
Keep in mind these are rubber coated metal bullets, not solid rubber bullets. Even a slingshot with a pebble can kill a person. A piece of falling foam damaged and ultimately destroyed the space shuttle killing everyone aboard. A metal bullet fired from a gun is potentially lethal even at reduced velocity and even with a rubber coating. If someone shot a police officer with a rubber coated bullet you had better believe they would be charged with assault with a lethal weapon or attempted murder.
Best line at 9:35 when Jimmy asks, "What is their reluctance?" (as to why the establishment media hasn't gone there). Ben doesn't ponder it for a half a second and offers, "I don't know." The rest of the show Jimmy is quiet as Ben and Michael try to talk about why the media would not legitimately cover the story. Jimmy's up there by himself.
love jimmy, and I know he's tying , but this conversation nerds to be with Jordan, Emma, and Eric from tyt politics. They know the story because they have been to North Dakota several times, and have done a great job covering the entire story. Including interviews and being behind the scenes.
Is it too late to fantasize?..."My fellow Americans, today in North Dakota, members of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation are peacefully protesting the construction of an oil pipeline by Dakota Access over their legitimate concerns of protecting their clean water source. In response to the company's actions, the courts and the Army Corps of Engineers have mandated that they WILL NOT lay piping within 20 miles of Lake Oahe. We now have evidence that the company has blatantly disregarded these orders and have violated the territorial rights of the Sioux nation before any rights and permits have been established. In addition, we have evidence that local law enforcement have been unlawfully using excessive force against American citizens lawfully protesting the company's actions. I have hereby ordered the National Guard to mobilize and end the violence and egregiously unlawful activity from North Dakota state police and Dakota Access. They are under orders to secure the construction site, arrest the managers on charges of building without permits and in contempt of court, and gather evidence to support the investigation. They also have orders to compel the state police to dispand, and arrest their commanding officers on charges of corruption and unlawful excess force. Make no mistake- Americans exercising their constitutional rights have been unlawfully assaulted, and as of now, those assaults on Americans and their freedoms, will not stand"... if only...
This is literally the type of thing that used to happen in this nation. I fear we may never see those days again. In my opinion, the only question remaining is how long until a foreign power (or coalition thereof) comes and intervenes to aid us, the citizenry, in freeing ourselves from this increasingly tyrannical, fascist plutocracy that we have become? Which nation will it be? China perhaps? We are a rather large and lucrative market for their industries and economic system to grow and thrive. Perhaps as their workers and laborers being to demand better working conditions and wages, they'll view our situation as a means to capitalize. Freeing us from our existing tyranny that they may then move their production here and exploit our workforce with no morality, at minimum cost, as the world once did to theirs? Russia? Afterall, they're already offering safety to one of our more nortorious refugees, Edward Snowden. A combined coalition of EU forces? They claim to be our allies, even as this country was founded France came to the citizenry's aid to free them us from tyranny. Are their alliegiances merely to our namesake or are they to our people? At some point in my lifetime, I completely believe such a sad situation is not only plausible, but increasingly likely. It saddens me to no end to realize this, as the mere existence of these thoughts and worries in my head is the clearest indicator yet of just how far we have fallen, and are continuing to do so. :/
For the large international audience, please use Metric as well: 20c is quite warm, converting to F is difficult to do immediatly. (remember 0c is obvious: water turns to ice)
a women had her arm blow off by a flash grenade they shot her with from close range. There's a gofundme placed up for her medical bills, if you want to help her. www.gofundme.com/30aezxs
Not to mention Sophia Wilansky whose arm was severely broken when she was hit by a concussion grenade. It's absolutely deplorable the way these protectors are being treated. It's inhumane. I've been watching livestreams of these incidents and it's just despicable.
"All protesters should be called water protectors." What an ignorant thing to say. No, people protecting their water, who have asked to be called water protectors, should be called water protectors. Just use the accurate and non-loaded term, whatever it is. It's not hard.
The water protectors are talking about it not being built at all. It was shifted from Bismarck to where it is now and it's been shown time and time again that the pipeline is unnecessary. There is no need for that pipeline except to fulfill corporate greed.
Obama stepped in after the court ruled IN FAVOR OF THE OIL COMPANY. He's not a dictator. He can't and shouldn't use the executive office to violate a court decision. If you want a dictator, you finally got your wish, Jimmy. Thanks for encouraging millions of people not to vote for Hillary because she was just a shoo in. If I recall correctly, they literally said that voting for Donald Trump was to vote for liberal principles.
My friend and I are planning on going shortly after Thanksgiving. I'm afraid, but I also need to see this with my own eyes. Shocking, horrifying, angering, saddening...
Private property is private property. Police must defend property rights sternly. Obama understands this that is why he just shrugs his shoulders in this. It's also why this story won't gain traction in America
TPP is already alive and running with the way this is unraveling. A corporation going against the rules of the government because they have money on the line and deadlines to make.
This has to go to court. The police committed assault/battery, and really the police should be charged with attempted murder between the forced hypothermia and head shots with rubber bullets that could have killed people and still could if they caused concussions.
It is unfortunate that the press and public are calling the pipeline company's hired bodyguards (AKA: Mercenaries) police. They are not police. They are mercenaries.
You need to talk to Patrick Kennedy about the fact that the pipeline is also moving forward without authorization. They have used chicanery to try to avoid an Environmental Impact Statement that has not been done. The President has totally let the ball drop on this. Talk to Patrick Kennedy.
It's not news crews who should be 'checking' police brutality against Americans. The person who SHOULD be 'checking' the police is the President stepping in with our National Guard to stand between the two factions and ensure no violence comes from either side. That is the whole point of the National Guard - to take care of internal matters.
The Governor has already called in the National Guard, to create checkpoints to harrass the people moving to and from the protest camps. Sorry, but government forces will always side with other government forces and their corporate backers.
GreyGeneral That might be true and I might be giving too much credit, but I feel like if the President sent them in rather than the Governor who has a vested interest in pushing down his people, that maybe, just maybe the Guard would be taking a different role ??
Mazzy Black Oh sure they are just following orders, but it's not like the president doesn't know they are doing this, his silence is a green light to continue.
The culture of non violence in the Standing Rock Protectors is working. The escalating violence of the oil protectors is a signal that they are desperate. Sophia Wilanski's tragic disfigurement is an example of how the oil business brings violence from Iraq to Nigeria, and here in America. These Water Protectors are harbingers of a sustainable - peaceful future that must be fought for using their example.
This country's going to hell. Those cops need to check themselves! They're on the wrong side of history!
That's what the loser always think, then the "Wrong side" wins and the rest is history.
@echelons i do. Morals don't exist outside your head
jammerman28 hillary loss bro...lol
Yeah, no... Suffrage, child labor laws, ending slavery, revocation of the Jim Crow Laws. People on the wrong side of history lose plenty as well.
Oh the terrible irony, using water as a weapon against people who are trying to protect it... Shame on you, police, shame on you, oil company.
This effects every American.
One of the women who was an elder who was shot, lost her arm today. She was unarmed and peacefully protesting.

AboxoroxRoxursox Guns will not solve this, that's exactly what these oil pushers want, they want the Water Protectors to get violent so they have an excuse to exterminate them. If 100,000 peaceful protesters showed up it would send a more impacting message.
Ariel Reyes 100,000? Are there that many autistic people in the area?
Has anyone interviewed the police chief over there? It would be nice to call him/her out.
I imagine its hard to keep dozens of miles of area secure.
How hard would it be to dig up a section of oil pipe line and dump cement into it?
Standing Rock needs 100,000 people and a billion dollars in resources to start personnel rotations, and constructing protective barriers from the corporate goons. If you're in your twenties, and thirties and you're looking for that big adventure you need to get to Standing Rock right now. Setup shop for the longest battle of your life. This is the front line of the culture war.
thanks for reporting on this
No from TYT about those police officers who were killed in separate incidences over the past few days.
Hey now even if what your talking about is relevant does that mean cops should be shooting unarmed protesters in the head? The answer is no, you should not shoot people in the head even if you disagree with them. Rubber bullets or lead bullets.
In time troll, back in your hole.
USA Life well why don't you put on your Annie Oakley hat and six guns and go down there and tell them about it
So you're saying that only white cops matter?
A lady lost an arm today. More than 20 people had to be hospitalized.
I want to now why there is a news blackout on Standing Hill pipeline. If it was not for the internet I would not have ever heard about it.
A tear broke loose watching that poor soul who got shot in the dome :(
The bottom line here is that the Oil Company just didn't do its due diligence prior to taking on this project. Now, it's paying off the government to protect its stupid investment in it. When did the government get into saving corporations from bad investments again? Oh right, 2009.
General Smedley Butler would say way, way earlier than 2009.
Nah they've been doing it since at least Bill Clinton. Honestly since before then. In the past, margarine was outlawed and had propaganda against it because the butter industry lobbied for it.
There is a desperate irony when the weapon used against the water protectors is the same resource they are trying to protect.
It saddens me that Jimmy isn't speaking up on this issue that he knows more than enough about. He's almost the outcast of the panel at this point, and while Ben is pretending he doesn't know why this is happening, Jimmy seems reluctant to speak the truth.
Reality4Peace Jimmy knows it's pointless talking sense to these two clowns. he's trying very hard to restrain himself from slapping these 2 fools.
Reality4Peace I wish jimmy just take tf over the convo
Reality4Peace Agree with paulzyuan. The purpose of the media covering dapl is to get people mad enough to act. Jimmy does that on his show. These other clowns are having the opposite effect. Explaining standing rock in terms of societal norms and all that crap. We were already sleeping...
I think they should call 911 and say that people in suits are attacking them, I wonder what the outcome would be if everybody calls
A message for a great TYTer Jordan stay safe brother
the fact Jimmy didn't punch both of these other people in the face makes him a stronger person than me.
I would have lost my cool
How are we supposed to abide by the Paris climate agreement & reduce carbon emissions while we're building pipelines...?
That company should immediately be fined and the executives thrown into jail.
Patrick Horn It's already a war :(
Government forces are immune from stand your ground laws.
Patrick Horn I feel like war may be the only option.
Patrick Horn the-urbanxchange.com/index.php/2016/11/23/what-is-standing-rock-and-why-you-should-support-it/
Keep in mind these are rubber coated metal bullets, not solid rubber bullets.
Who is the Chief of Police? Are they Off Duty Cops?
Jason Krainert righttttt! my first thoughts was WTF IS JORDAN
+mae Wilson isn't he on his way back to North Dakota right now?
Jason Krainert the-urbanxchange.com/index.php/2016/11/23/what-is-standing-rock-and-why-you-should-support-it/
Company never stopped building. They probably were drilling last night using the attack at cover.
:/
Lauren Lane Trump will consider the protesters terrorists
China is going to invade and help whom? Native Americans? Are you off your rocker? Your post isn't clear. Who are you talking about?
Michael, it's NOT eminent domain because it's not for government use; it's for private use.
It's sad to say but those cops will only learn when they and their family are drinking poisoned water then it's to late
For the large international audience, please use Metric as well:
20c is quite warm, converting to F is difficult to do immediatly. (remember 0c is obvious: water turns to ice)
a women had her arm blow off by a flash grenade they shot her with from close range.
There's a gofundme placed up for her medical bills, if you want to help her.
www.gofundme.com/30aezxs
Can you always "go high" when going "low" means concussion grenades and rubber bullets?
what happened to all lives matter at? where are all those booty bandits?.
Every time Ben stutters an angel grows wings.
Welcome to the Oligarchy!
That poor guy. His legs were shaking. Intentionally giving hypothermia to US citizens. That's reason enough to move to Canada.
hey America when is the civil war starting?
Karri Wright Who do you think has all the guns? Not the SJW's.
"Rubber bullets" are metal encased in rubber. Depending on distance, they can be fatal in head shots.
I must of done more for this than #Obama #Potus just by retweeting the events in North Dakota #NoDapl
Not to mention Sophia Wilansky whose arm was severely broken when she was hit by a concussion grenade. It's absolutely deplorable the way these protectors are being treated. It's inhumane. I've been watching livestreams of these incidents and it's just despicable.
Also listen to Shure - AGAIN- being all apologist.
Ugh.
This protest was more peaceful than a football celebration. Just disgusting how the police responded.
They do NOT want it built, period. Keep it in the ground.
Any news on the lady who had her arm shot by a concussion grenade?
"All protesters should be called water protectors." What an ignorant thing to say. No, people protecting their water, who have asked to be called water protectors, should be called water protectors. Just use the accurate and non-loaded term, whatever it is. It's not hard.
Thank you for covering these abuses. Please do all you can to keep the reporting spotlight on this story.
Micheal the media is not "unaware" that this was happening in North Dakota.
How are they even aiming the rubber bullets at night in the dark!?
I was told tear gas is prohibited on enemies when at war however its fine to use tear gas on civilians of the country using the gas
My friend and I are planning on going shortly after Thanksgiving. I'm afraid, but I also need to see this with my own eyes. Shocking, horrifying, angering, saddening...
I will be bringing awareness to this situation tomorrow in speech class. People need to know what is going on over there!
how much drinking water do u have left in the US? ur water is drying up or some times can be lit on fire
Would that water supply harm people from other parts of the u.s
Zak rey Yes. All along the river, that is peoples water source. I believe it gets into the Millions for people who depend on the river for water.
Headlines need to read "Oil Company's Private Army Opens Fire On Peaceful Protesters"
One woman has lost her arm. She was handing out water bottles.
It is unfortunate that the press and public are calling the pipeline company's hired bodyguards (AKA: Mercenaries) police. They are not police. They are mercenaries.
Jimmy should talk more.
A woman's arm gone blown off last night in standing rock by one of those cops. Look it up
How can we help? I'm too far away from ND, is there anything I can do?
Wait, they get the rubber ones? "? Wait, there are rubber ones? "? . . .
You need to talk to Patrick Kennedy about the fact that the pipeline is also moving forward without authorization. They have used chicanery to try to avoid an Environmental Impact Statement that has not been done. The President has totally let the ball drop on this. Talk to Patrick Kennedy.
I cannot say thank you enough to TYT and other independents for covering DAPL.
I hope that people know the truth.
Ben's ruling class naivete never ceases to amaze.
GreyGeneral
That might be true and I might be giving too much credit, but I feel like if the President sent them in rather than the Governor who has a vested interest in pushing down his people, that maybe, just maybe the Guard would be taking a different role ??
Mazzy Black Oh sure they are just following orders, but it's not like the president doesn't know they are doing this, his silence is a green light to continue.
Yes, that was my whole point as well - that he should man up and protect his citizens from this kind of violence.
They also used eminent domain in Iowa. The farmers are not pleased. Stop the pipeline.
