Personally I think the hair might be much better as a simple plane mesh, but this is great stuff! Loved your texturing, you made everything incredibly simple to follow along with. Thank you!
Acabo de comprar el curso! llevo tiempo viendo tus videos y tengo como objetivo a fin de mes hacer una animación de estilo PS1, gracias por compartir tus conocimientos!, estoy motivado a usar Blender de nuevo jeje
I was able to get all the way to the head without watching a single second of the donut tutorial! this was kinda fast pace but it helped alot. Now if only i could extrude the chin without it rounding itself out, ill be good to go.
Absolutely loved the tutorial, its soo useful because i started to learn Blender recently and i dont know all the modeling tools in Blender, im a 3D Max user and always wanted to switch to Blender, so this tutorial showed all those little tips i needed to create want i want, specially i wanted to create that PS1 style aesthetics for my projects. Thank you very much!
Wouldn't it be better to make clothes on a character right away, i.e. without making it as separate object? I struggled with rigging my character as body was clipping through the clothes. So I had to delete the parts under the clothes to fix it
Yeah, actual PS1 characters would not have any body geometry under the clothes. The poly budget was way too small for that kind of redundancy. Nothing about this video is PS1 style, tbh. It's just general "lowpoly".
Is there any problem on the Gumroad page for your training course? I was able to download part 2 on texturing on my hard drive disk, but since last week, this video no longer appears in gumroad. There's only the UV video and Texturing Part 1. And in the “Animation” section, there's no video at all (I don't know if it's normal).
ive managed too follow towards the basic mesh of the head but when i attempt it the edit view is still the same shape as a square so i cant edit ach vertice of the sudivided square, is there anything im doing wrong or is it broken?
@ThomasPotter i realy wanna thank you lot for this video it helps me alot with my first days using blender i would like to send my first project after finish it to rate out of ten :)
@@ThomasPotter do you search specific thing in pintrest cuz don't get good result like characters with few rotations from different angle (like side and front) I mostly get a picture of a real life person or a character but not a reference sheet
You just don't get the extra ps1 samurai, the udemy thing is more of a test, just curious, how did you find out about the udemy version, I haven't promoted it at all
@@ThomasPotter can you add it on udemy? It has regional pricing so itd be cheaper for me then on gumroad. I was looking for specific courses and yours showed up
I do currently have regional pricing on Gumroad, only at 20% though. I'm not going to add the ps1 samurai on udemy as they pay next to nothing to the creators, currently I get paid about 10-20% the amount that I get from a gumroad sale.
Please teach us head with opening mouth and eyes in lowpoly please, I'm new subscriber here , I'm able to make any model in 290-500 polygons but I suck at head when I try to make eyes and mouth which can be blink and talk 😅
I'm currently in the middle of the course, you teach very fast, for those who don't know anything about Blender, go and see a basic course because you'll run into trouble in this course. The teacher doesn't explain much and just does things quickly. I have some recommendations for the trainer, first: move the video a little more slowly and explain a little more, second: make a separate video for each task you teach in the training course, for example, making the upper body, a separate video, a separate video for the legs and...
Thanks for the feedback, this is the first time I've made a course this length, I will do my best to improve in any future courses, especially if I create a course directed to beginners.
Man the part where you explain how to do the head just ruins the whole video. Way too fast, you skip on multiple actions that you have made and it just leaves the viewer to guess wtf happened between the cuts. Otherwise pretty good. Thank you for taking the time to make the tutorial, but please make it a bit slower and properly show what you do.
this isn't a step by step tutorial, this is to show the workflow of creating the character, the full character took 7 hours to teach to make. I can't show everything in a 15 minute video.

How and why do you delete half of it after the auto mirror? This segment was just kind of fast
When are you talking about? Could you add a timestamp

How do you delete half of your cube? Every time I do it, my entire cube disappears leaving one flat plane.
You have to add an edge loop in the center
0:38 that's the question where the hell do I get the reference!! When I google I get bad result
Idk I just found it on Pinterest, I'll upload it soon

What's the difference between this tuto on YT and on Udemy or Gumroad?
well the TH-cam video is 15 minutes and the course is 7 hours, on gumroad you get the extra PS1 samurai recording with some more extras coming soon

are you on blender 4.2? probably been moved to the get extensions tab

Hello with your low poly character course would you say its good for someone who's never learned blender ?
Probably not, I would recommend you watching a beginners guide series on TH-cam before purchasing
@@ThomasPotter Okay thank you
did the sale code expire? Ain't working for me =/
yes it was only for the first 5 people
there is no loop tool button for me .
loop tools is a free add on you have to install in the preferences tab

Making you videos on speed makes it harder to grasp and you will lose audience . Stop it . Its not a youtube growth hack dude
I'm not trying to go for speed, this is just how long I wanted for the video, my other ps1 character videos were way shorter
