    Hi Rachel! I've been undergoing DBT for two years with a PTSD diagnosis. These are great as a supplement to my one on one sessions. Have you thought about releasing the audio as a stand-alone? It would be great to listen to while I'm doing stuff around the house!

      I could but it would be more work and I spent 2 years making the whole series. If you use Google Chrome, check out "Audio Only TH-cam": chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/audio-only-youtube/pkocpiliahoaohbolmkelakpiphnllog?

      +gorillatwist only if you dedicate yourself, and want to change. it takes time and hard work.

      No, DBT is not going to solve all your life's problems, but if you are willing to learn it will give you tools to get through your problems more effectively and without making them worse.

    they say DİD is a disorder when different alters live within u and each pop up and control u the way they want as is portrayed eg in that movie split ---HOW EVER that is not what is going on with me-- mine is more like this:
    it feels as if some how in the past my life got stretched and stretched and got blown out of proportion and my self got lost in the process ---the sense of self i have now is that of an avatar or a weired unreal representative of my original self -- ,not a real person but a thought or idea 4 ever changing always and always some body new and different --- some one lost and trapped in my past -- when i examine this for ever changing sense of self i see it is very strange,,,, dream like almost,, as if at some particular traumatic events i was represented by a pathetic persona ,, a survival construct -- now i don't remember the traumatic event themselves since i have massive amnesia but despite of it my mind is still trapped in certain memories -- E g l i am for ever thinking about my house in second grade but as hard as i try i don't know why or what the hell happened in that house only that is scares me to death --i have a trapped and for ever changing sense of self-------------------- any insight ?

      Marsha Linehan says of mindfulness being in the present moment helps us focus on the only time frame within our power to change. We can’t change the past or the future.
      I have past trauma that haunts me and intentionally practicing being in the present moment helps me get out of flashbacks and reexperiencing painful past events.
      No matter how you approach it, the road to recovery is treacherous. Having a road map like DBT skills has been immensely helpful. I send you big hugs and wish you well and healing.

    thanks so much for the information, how can I get information about BDP?

    • @dbtworks
      @dbtworks  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Google NEA-BPD. It is a great organization that is all about educating people about BPD.

    Don't know how this explains people with BPD who are not sensitive but who have grown up in very validating, loving environments.

    • @ImJustSoooInsaneDude
      @ImJustSoooInsaneDude 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The DSM criteria for BPD diagnosis includes symptoms that could be described colloquially as "sensitiveness", so I guess a person who is not sensitive, is neither BDP. Maybe this person has learned to cope with emotions (thanks to a validating environment), so it does not appear as sensitive on the outside.
