Do you just use regular tap water?
If you use regular bakers yeast or whiskey yeast, do you vary the sugar/water ratio?

after using a pack of turbo yeast for the first fermantation job that you do, can you harvest the yeast at the bottom of the fermenter and it will still be as potent as it was fresh out of the pack when you reuse it in the next time?

I doubt it because in the package it has nutrients to brew the volume it is to be put in. If you added nutrients like it comes with, then it would be similar. I'm going try to maintain a stock of it in the fridge with fruit juice, apple & plum and maybe some black tea. I recently learned how regular yeast loves prune juice and is way to sour for wine. But it was an experiment and it taught me that yeast likes prune juice like raisins. I'm going to do a 2nd ferment on the prune wine with turbo to see if sugar, apple juice and peach syrup will give me something drinkable with age or a freezer distill to use as a mixer.

yeah but i have never used it lol, though ive a good friend who is pretty good at getting all kinda diff flavors,i oopps HE will throw a huge catering size tin of peachs (syrup too) into 5 gallons and also a few cups of rice,he also done one with just rice and coconut cream (like youll use for cooking/currys,then when you drain it off to distill its like malibu, been using rice a lot with bakers yeast, gives you a really good base/mash to throw into the still......im told lol

I'll bet you wouldn't use that hot water for cooking if you cut your water heater open.

Doesn't that defeat the objective of using turbo yeast which will be ready in 48 hours?

I make a lot of beer (and wine) but in Tennessee, where I reside, having a still is a HUGE no-no. In fact, the law is so well written, you can't even have a still for making ethanol for fuel or ANY kind of distillation for any purpose. JD might present themselves as a back woods small time distillery, but they don't want competition.

well use bakers yeast and wait the 8 days as youll get a higher return from your mash if its left to brew, for every gallon add 2 pounds of sugar and a flat tablespoon of yeast, I also add a cup of rice that's been semi boiled in a few pints of water and allow to cool.this will give you loads of starch...youll get a mash that's about 16% alcohol to start off with, ive tried countless ways and this is the best ive found/tried but hey its your call...best of luck wotever you choose TCM !!!

I've produced 25% abv with distillers yeast. Bread yeast is unreliable some will die at 10% abv and some at 12% abv I've never seen it hit much higher than that. also bread yeast has that horrible taste. my favorite is champagne yeast will produce around 20% abv and doesn't create the foam head

??????,think about it,10 pound of sugar costs £250 UK or $4.50 US.....you wouldn get 1/8th the booze if you bought it ready made(nor nearly as strong)

He says: a complete package of torbo yeast, 20-25 liter water and 6-8 kg shuckr is the reciepe to make clear alc. in 48h with ca. 15-20% alc...also you need a bucket, with top, a co2 lock and a temp. scala

turbo yeast is something I wouldn use, yeast is a living microbe that will eat starch/sugar and it shits out alcohol as a result, once its ate all the starch/sugar the yeast will(should)die off but with turbo yeast it don't, die off so easy use it if you wish but wots the rush, i want the best I can have not the quickest, brewers yeast takes so long as its for wine and not ment to go through a still, but use the one you want (plus turbo yeast has a harsh taste)
