Random I agree. I live in NH and for some silly reason when I watch videos of hiking in the white mountains, something I like to do, I hear this horrible twangy banjo music or unleashed guitars out of Guns N Roses blaring. I want to hear the woods, not that noise. Good job Erik. He knows us!!
Man... The landscape, the view, the green trees, and the dense snow are just marvelous like they are inviting me to go camping. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us all with your vision.
I think it's really cool how you only slept in the wilderness with your sleeping bag and that in the cold! Hats off! And the stars at night are just wonderful!
I have done a lot of winter backpacking. I envy many of these content providers for their access to wild lands and silence. Also sleeping out without a tent, tarp or bivy makes it more special. Truly a survival experience. When you walk back to civilization you know your experience is unique and singular.
This cleans and reassures the mind, resets the senses. It is unbelievable how surreal the normal nature seems to the citylife digitally conditioned mind. Thank you, Erik, for reminding us that Nature is still nearby, unchanged.
Great video! It takes me back to the time when I was about 14 years old. That was around 1957. My dad and I had hiked into a high mountain lake in Eastern Oregon (Slide Lake) to do some native Cutthroat fishing. My father had built a make-shift raft out of wet logs to float the lake that day. Took his boots off while fishing so they wouldn't be wet walking back out the several miles back to our truck after dark. He sunburned his feet terribly and wasn't able to walk back that night, so we were forced to stay at the lake. We cut some tree bows like on this video to lay on, BUT ... we had no sleeping gear. Temperature dropped down about freezing through the night and the wind howled, and all we had was light jackets. We roasted on one side and froze on the other, hugging the fire as closely as we could for warmth -- rotating front to back every few minutes like you would cook a hotdog over the fire. Miserable as that was, in came the porcupines! Nothing like waking to a porky about a foot away from your face! We had a few firecrackers to throw at them but that only kept them away for about half an hour per stretch. They were hungry (and maybe cold too?) That was the longest night I've ever spent. But all was good come sunup because we had no porcupine quills to have to pull out of our faces! If you want to more appreciate your warm, comfy, critter-free, secure bed at home ... try sleeping a night outdoors on a bed of bumpy tree bow limbs without a sleeping bag, tent nor tarp, or warm clothing about 7,000 feet above sea level. And THEN have no hot coffee come sunup to warm your innards. Highly recommend it for REAL alpha guys with no brains.
Every time I watch one of your videos, each one is better than the last which is pretty mind-blowing seeing as the first one was perfect...absolutely entranced by these...brilliantly done.
Incredible video! I love the sound of the owl as your fire created a mini volcano :) We experienced one of the worst winters in regards to snow production. On top of that the Covid-19 crisis has kept us on lockdown, wearing masks when we go to buy groceries and social distancing at six feet. We are fortunate to have You Tubers like you, keeping us entertained and our hopes alive to be out someday soon to experience what you are enjoying without trepidation. All of our forest trails and parks are shut down until our leaders decide that it is safe for us to leave our homes.
Hahaha I love seeing only the nose when you are waking up in the mummy bag and then the one eye peering out. When you were eating your rice and bologna I went and got the left overs remnants of my reuben out of my fridge and ate it under a blanket pretended I was in the snow half starving. Thank you for this one and for the sounds. Lovely.
I can't help it... A wry smile escapes my lips every time, awaiting the first morning thumbs up for coffee. Beautifully filmed and recorded as ever. Mini works of art
Härligt vacker film - eldens varma färger mot nattens mörker, natthimmelen med de otaliga stjärnorna, pärlugglan. Behövs inga ord att bli lycklig att få uppleva naturen via din film. Tusen tack, Erik!
Everything this dude does is purposeful, deliberate, precise.. And then there is the preparation, the orchestration. So cool and... Jeese, is this a man crush? No way am I thinking anything other than a nice meal.. in the snow, the fire, the stories ... whiskey and snow.
Here in Southern Michigan,we are ice out and the snow is gone. Having one more trip on snow this morning with you finishes my season perfectly! Great video Erik!
I agree, there’s something about the use of “hey guys, or dudes n bros “or anything that assumes brotherly kinship without actually knowing you that makes me sigh in despair and is pleasantly missing here, which I appreciate very much. The minimalist use of jibber jabber is so much more mature and real. Actions speak louder than words and this guys nailed it. Good work Sir.
Absolutely Stunning Erik! “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech, night after night they display knowledge.
So nice to be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and tranquility without the need for words. Thanks for taking the time to show us where you're lucky enough to wild camp.
Türkçe yazayım hadi. Erik i kardeş gibi severim.
Such beautiful day n night sounds ... makes for compulsive viewing and a pleasurable experience. Fabulous photography great effort to please. Bushyboy Oz
I feel like all this negativity comes from a place of jealousy. Anyone in this world would happily trade places with you to be in such a serene, beautiful place. The people that leave hate are the ones too lazy to pursue their ambitions, so they envy the people who do. Beautiful video, and I'm absolutely subscribing.
Eric.... really surprised you actually slept ON the snow, LOL. Never see anyone doing that today. My son and I have done that a couple of times but never seen it on TH-cam. Nice job. Nicely photographed. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes... Ax
As someone else wrote Erik, you work is art. It brings your love of nature and stillness to us.......I feel that there is no way we can ever repay for that. Just a 'thank you 'seems insufficient. Take care, have peace
The good thing of this video is that there is no talking,no music, just sounds of nature makes this video so satisfying.

Wonderful. No talks, no music, just silence and nature sounds.
Hey from Brazil!
Silence is golden, only let nature talk. Thank you Erik, for a very peaceful video.
Good
Ciao 2 b
No narration, no music, bs text over...just the natural sights and sounds...perfect! Thank you! Subbed!!
I don’t have the gut to sleep like that without a roof over my head, by myself, in the snow for a night. This guy is on another level 👍
These camping videos always make me hungry.

That boreal owl and the starry sky it's enough to make anyone fall asleep, goodnight from Argentina

I am watching this as I deal with horrible foot pain and fever. Watching this gives me the warmth.

Of all the beautiful sounds of nature, the boreal owl produces one of the very best. Expertly captured.
More than just beautiful videos...these are the lessons in Nordic bushcraft...invaluable! Thank you, Erik, wonderful videos...as always :)
Art, in silence & snow. Beautiful.
See? You don't need a tent!

Watching this is like a relaxing meditation. I felt sad when it came to the end.
you are my inspiration, with silence you can convey something, a special video
I am now completely blissed out....
Hiii
How peaceful this video is! No artificial outsider except the one and only calm and peaceful nature
Thank you Erik...the snow is really deep...the way your fire settled down out of sight.
Yes it gets a bit difficult when the fire disappears deep down... :D
Thanks for beautifully video.

I love it. So peaceful and beautiful
