I was out about 11 miles from Freeport yesterday. In certain areas it was weird the water was beautiful running out but there were areas that looked brownish red and it was really out of place in the greenish blue water. I think that was what you are talking about.
thanks for the heads up dude, i was wondering what was up the last time i was in tx city this mast November know i know, just got a couple 30 inch black tips
The dead fish might be useful for fertilizer, questionable for food consumption but will work for plants like trees, flowers, and shrubbery. Oh, raccoons too, lol.
They have always been down south at Port Isabel. But have been making their way north. Several big ones have been caught in Galveston west bay. They have definitely taken hold now upper Texas coast.
I was at the Dike and near Seawolf on Monday, water looked great both places. TP&W September 19, 2023 Upper Coast (Galveston Bay and Sabine Lake): The red tide monitoring station in Freeport continues to detect red tide with concentrations fluctuating from low to moderate on inbound tides. Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) detected low red tide concentrations in water samples collected near the pass in Galveston Bay and moderate concentrations detected near the Texas City Dike.
That’s devastating man - I was planning to go fishing this weekend - man it’s sad to see all those dead fish. 😢
Wow that is awful. Was at Crystal Beach this past Saturday no red tide. Sad to see all the dead fish.
Crazy. It happens here in Florida every year, but today. It’s hurts the heart.

On Monday we fished state water our of Freeport. There were so many manhaden swimming in circles on the surface offshore. Absolutely crazy.

We don't get bad blooms of it in NW FL very often, but it is really sad when it happens.
Your channel makes me wanna take advantage of my weekdays off and head out to gtown. I plan on hitting up your patron
MKes me sick to see it. TPWD has a red tide page. Last update was the 19th and there was moderate levels at TX city, Sabine, and freeport.
What a shame 😢 thank you for another great video.
Ouch! I never like seeing this. I wonder what the area of impact is?
Do you think it will clear by this weekend? Looking to get out there hopefully.
I believe it's the "Red Tide" my friend. Its happening in some parts of Alabama and I think in Florida.
None in florida at the moment
It happened to Alabama when Texas showed up
I saw a similar die off at the San Luis Pass about 2 weeks ago.
Fucking red tide. I have personally seen what happens across the Gulf, in St. James City/Lee County in Florida. I saw 5 foot Tarpon. It was bad.
There was a local TV news report about red tide galveston week ago
When is it over? We are planing a trip next weekend from Austin, Tx .
Not sure, whenever it dies off I guess.
How long does it typically take a red tide situation to pass?
Not sure
Thats crazy
Red tide is bad this year. Happens every drought year. Unfortunately our shallow water fish have nowhere to escape it like the offshore dwellers do.
About how often do we get red tides in this part of Texas?
Being near the water on a red tide is bad news, inhaling salty water vapors is what could cause anyone complications down the road!
So I know it’s in Freeport right now, is it coming towards Galveston?
That's hurt breaking to see all these beautiful trout being killed.😔
I saw a guy took a dead snook to his cooler! 🤢 time; Monday after 5pm
BUMMER!
So is there red tide only in the us. Please
Not sure
That is awful!
This is sad.
😢Wow
Sad
Dude that is absolutely devastating. I can’t believe there was some huge dead trout and even some snook along Galveston.
Dam
I can remember other times when that happens. Still hurts. And yes. You can’t breath.
Wow Man damn it not good

Saludos amigo que mal ver así a esos pescaditos 😢
Didn't know TX had snook.. I thought Florida only had it.

They have snook in Texas
Yes but a rare catch on the upper coast.
