I've used Gates belt drives on tandems. Incredibly, they do NOT stretch. I bought a back up belt and have not had to change it yet. 12,000+ miles. Hose off the dirt and lube with dry silicone spray.
Just purchased Enduro x1 and now I have been riding it and felt in love with it. I just placed an order for this bike for my daughter and can't wait to ride with her.
Luna makes a great product. I have the Low Fat Wolf with the Ludicrous Drive. I love it! I'm not sure of the configuration of the internal hub gearing, but properly done with properly specified sprockets and belts this should be superior to chain drives. I've seen machinery that runs hundreds of horsepower through toothed belts and they last forever with little to no adjustments.
I love the bike. Are you thinking about making a faster version? 52 volt, with an additional, external removable battery that looks like a water bottle, or a back pack battery connection for longer commutes? I would be really intrested in that.

In the uk there gtech showing there Bottle battery
I am looking forward to the 2.0 version of this bike! Much more range (ideally 1000wh battery), higher power from motor and maybe even suspension while still looking like an elegant city bike.
A fater down tube design should accomodate a larger battery capacity. 500 watt for this light build is plenty, just bigger battery and better brakes like Magura MT5E
Excellent review and this is one smooth looking electric bike. Torque sensing pedal assist is my absolute favorite experience on ebikes equipped with it. My IZIP Express was my first electric bike and is torque sensing pedal assist. Cheers😁👍
I have experience motorcycle belt drives owning 4 of them. Three of them had well over 110ft lbs of torque. Each bike probably have an average of 25000 miles. The belts on my Buel”s do not stretch. There is no tension adjustment because of this. If they ever become less than banjo tight, you are either loosing a bearing or the belt has already failed. All those miles the belts were a dream. Zero impact. No wear, not maintenance. Just check once in while to see if it is scary tight. I did change one belt when on gravel roads a rock happened between the rear sprocket and the belt. The inboard side of the belt failed and the rest got me 100 miles home. My point to the reviewer is his claim that the belt will stretch. Are you sure? Belts these days are near bullet (or rock) proof for motorcycles with much great stresses per measured width. The Gates Manual states that they don’t stretch. It will tensioned to about 40lbs. Most likely you will replace the belt after it wears down your metal sprockets.
this is pretty much the rig i dreamt of a couple decades ago . Is it the Tranz-x m25 midrive ?? super stealth whip at good price . Hopefully Court or Blue Monkey Bike Mike do a review ASAP
This looks like you chose a Bofeili mid-drive. Fuell chose that, too for their Fluid. How come no mention of the motor in the review, or the Luna website, as it is something different. How was it chosen? I'm very interested in hearing more about this motor. Great-looking bike, btw. Congrats.

Hey Luna, it looks like there are some bosses on the frame and fork, can you confirm how many and where? I'll need fenders and would like the ability to add a rack.
If I do purchase, what can I expect when it comes time to replace the battery? Since it's built into the downtube, does that mean it can't be replaced?
Could you upgrade the central hub if you wanted? Nice looking bike! Any way to buy from Australia? If you are commuting and don't want to get sweaty on the way to work, do you always have to peddle or throttle assist can work alone?
Great review. I just like to go a bit farther. Any room in the frame for a bigger battery, or can an external battery be hooked up when the juice gets low? What a cool bike.
Great review, Matt. I own one of these in Large (58cm frame) myself and I think that, for what it is, its darn near perfect although I'll echo another commenter that I really miss a thumb throttle - as a heart attack survivor they are really important to give you the ability to back off the effort if it becomes necessary. I have to say I was surprised at your comments on the adequacy of the brakes. I weigh 250 lbs and am probably at the very outside of the size range for this bike. But I have no issue with the brakes' stopping power even at speed. I'm used to 4-pot Maguras and 203mm rotors front and back on my big bad ebikes so I was pleasantly surprised at what I considered to be the perfect performance I got from the Tektro hydros and 160mm rotors.
Do you guys/girls ever plan on releasing a throttle like Kranked has? I love how you simple it is but don't need a $4k motor. A twist throttle w/ a cyclone would be the bumble bees rumble

Luna Cycles please allow an option for those like me who can handle & want whisky throttle ... I'll be honest, I don't know exactly what that is but I like whisky so it can't be bad.
Two questions I want to know before purchasing...widest tire you can fit, and supported voltage range of the controller if later I want to DIY an external battery pack?
Way better stealthy looking e-bike than those on the market right now. Thus, a quiet belt drive, minimum maintenance, good range - what else not to like. Oh, can battery be charged off the bike?
Calling non fixed bike "fixed" is just misleading for people who are searching for fixed gear bike. Marketing guys did good and bad job at the same time.
Do you have any plans on putting a bigger battery? Possibly a 12ah. The reason being, is I always ride at highest assist and never get more than 1 mile per amp hour on any of my electric bikes/scooters.
