RTF ($88) - www.banggood.co...
The Tarantula is large, but don't let its size fool you... this thing is very sporty and nimble! It also has a 5MP 1080p HD camera.
Enjoy!

I've got an X6 and it has it's pros and cons. Pros: It flies excellent due to good match of pitch, roll and yaw. Lot of power, you can fly it on windy days. Good feel to controller. Long range, the 300 meter claim is true. Big enough to see it well for orientation. Headless mode.
Cons: Motors are short lived. But cheap to replace and V262 motors work. I'm flying it at 7K ft and above here in Colorado, flying devices work harder at higher altitude. Noise. The X6 is the loudest of my fleet and gets the attention of neighbors if I fly it at home. Maybe some insulation in the booms would help.
The prop guard are paper thin and don't do much, cut them off. The antenna on the controller is a dummy, the real antenna is inside. I opened mine up and soldered in an rp-sma pigtail to the board and put on a router antenna. Really outrageous range now. Don't fly the X6 indoors, it's just too big and powerful.
Had to stop by and check out your newest review. Your facebook post said this was AWESOME, so I couldn't pass it up. I'm extremely excited to see that you released this yesterday and it's already hit 2k views as of right now! Keep up the really great work my friend! Thumbs up!
TheRcSaylors Thanks bud! I'm still trying to get your challenge video done, but it has rained literally every single weekend for months! It's driving me crazy. I will be tossing a challenge back to you two as well, so be prepared. hehe :D
Very awesome! We can't wait =^) Sorry to hear about the rain though, makes the whole RC thing very frustrating!
This quad is a favorite with the whole ohana. My brother got the first one and its just a fantastic flier! The larger YiZhan box allowed you to store it with the blade guards installed, but the newer JJRC package cant do that. If you are looking to store it in the box make sure its the YiZhan version, otherwise you WILL have to purchase a foam lined case for it.
This thing is really large and it tolerates wind a lot better than most smaller quads. If you are going to use it to mount a Mobius or RunCamHD on it, please consider getting more motors and props. You will need them.
Great vid as always, brother
Wow!Those flips are fluidic!!Does a perfect circle.Never seen a flip like that.
Thanks for the comment on where to buy extra doors. Got them ordered already. That was the first time in 6 months flying that I did not put the screw in the door.
Flyin' Ryan RC Nice review. I got less jello with this quad when I strapped a camera directly to the frame without using the vibration mount.
Just ordered one and waiting... Glad to hear a 12min flight since it only advertised 7. That's great!
Nice review Ryan! Got my X-6 today ... broke in the motors then cut the prop guards off at ground level to keep the light covers attached. That mod also still protects the props on a tip over. Great Quad! Next I am going to try adding a small amount of powder graphite to the motors. See that mod from quadflyingfun. This quad needs an ON/OFF switch.... just no sure how to wire it. I have removed the battery door and stuck 2" foam into the battery bay and use rubber bands to hold the battery in place. I will extended the battery cable from the FC and wire it outside the quad. Should work fine and be much easier to get it flying.
+David LaFrance (Sedona Dave) Hi I see you broke in the motors can you tell me what you do to brake them in? Thanks
I appreciate your reviews Ryan !
Got my Blue version for $39.97 two days ago on EverBuying w/ FREE shipping from U.S. warehouse ! Now they're $67........
Try adding a cable tie or so to compress the bobbins a little in that camera mount, usually it helps lots over a free hanging bobbin mount.
Thanks Flyin' Ryan for another fair, detailed, and fun review. I was REALLY waiting for you to test this config on this quad. Boy, that camera, despite the hobby-grade looking mount was a real disappointment. You just saved me a good chunk of change from buying the 5mp model of this multicopter. Still it did seem to have its good features (modular motor replacement, etc) and of coarse that very sporty flying. So far, I think the Ominus quad has the best balance between 'camera ship' and 'sporty toy-grade quad'. It even seemed to handle the jello better. The downside was that you couldn't easily remove the camera. :( I guess the perfect toy-grade multicopter has yet to be built! LOL. I didn't happen to notice if you told us how to reset the accelerometer on this one or not.
A friend has the same copter, and his videos have very little to no jello effect. He told me that on his copter he did two things to help improve the jello.
1. He aimed the camera down a bit and then added some hot glue to the camera's neck joint to keep the camera set in place. The camera is now rock solid. Only the vibration mount still "wiggles" a bit.
2. He bought a magnetic prop balancer and balanced all 4 props.
He told me that some people love magnetic prop balancers, while others hate them. The issue with magnetic balancers (actually all balancers in general), are that they are not 100% perfectly set/balanced from factory. Some are very close to perfect and shouldn't negatively affect the balancing of a prop. while others are off a bit more and will negatively affect a "balanced" prop.
He told me to tell you that if you decide to get a magnetic prop balancer, to make sure the gap for the rod/magnets are set correctly (only one rod end should touch the magnet, while the other end floats just above the magnet). Also that the balancer's rod is not bent, which you can easily test for by rolling the rod on a flat pieces of glass or mirror. It should roll smoothly without any hops or wobbles. With a properly balanced and gaped magnetic balancer, your props should come out balanced very well and you should see a huge improvement in your videos.
+CoroaEntertainment Yep. I review things as they come out of the box though, so I make no mods before my reviews. I want to show people what they can expect without having to do any extra work themselves.
Ive had this quadcopter for about 2 weeks and I have only had 1 problem. I was sport flying and did a flip when the prop guard bent I to the propellers causing it to smash into the ground at high speed. But I blame my self for that, should have done a better pre flight check. Still fly's fine I just had to replace a prop
I have to say you and quadchopter 101 are the best and so informative in this hobby. Thanks and God bless may your channels get a million subscribers . :)
INTELMAXELL Thanks! :D
Hey Ryan, nice review [thumb's up] and nice flying too.
I suspect I'd prefer to get the version w/o a camera and sub in a Mobius. Only thing that makes me hesitate is the brushed vs brushless motors.
Thanks Ryan!
Looks good ! If I were you , I would take a pair of plyers to those prop guards
It's another great review from ya' boy flyin' Ryan.
for 88$ a Quadcopter with 2.0M Cam the make a lot of Fun okay right the Camera is a Bonus for Video not the best but Photo's are good i have fly it :) greetings from Switzerland Tom
another straight forward winning review. yep, yay! I'm liking the 2 Dr silver car too !!
+John Wedrall Thanks! And that car is my 2003 Infiniti G35. It is (one of) my dream car! I absolutely love it. :)
It's a great flyer. Glad I did not get mine with the stock camera as I lost the battery door on a flight and never could find it. Forgot to put that little screw back in and it cost me, don't think I can get another door, lesson learned.
dheller777 Hmm, I took the screw out of my door too, but it fits nice and tight and I never had any fear of it coming off. Maybe after more use, the door fit becomes looser.
The anti vibration mount needs a anti vibration mount...lol. As with your other videos, this one is also very informative. Well appreciated.
+BuCC WeeT LOL! And I'm glad you found my video informative. :)
Just got mine and Wow, crazy fun. there's 's a good video on fixing the jello problem. Stupid fast and really cool looking.
Thanks a lot for this review i own 2 of them and they are great flyers. Dont have camera's with yhem.
Ryan here again .. a other friend of mine bought this one :)))
This is some kit!!! I've bought 2 dead H25's, well the LH-X14 which is basically the same thing and revived them with Syma X8HG flight board as they're using the same motors and battery. One thing is for sure, the Chinese know damn well hot to get to our wallets!! Great video, thanks for sharing
there is probebly jello because the lens moves.. or the mount hasn't been made good
Flips are like in slow motion! Thumbs up:)
Thanks for the very good review sir! Great looking quad this is.. I've had it on my wish-list for a while ;)
Too bad the video is wobbly.. That kind of makes that unuseable..
Nice to hear the quad itself flies well though :)
Cheers and thanks for sharing
DutchRC ADVENTURES I think the camera could be improved by adding some weight to it, or just strap a Mobius onto the mount, etc.
Flyin' Ryan RC Aha! And then you have smooth video??
Maybe less stiff pegs would allso work (with the standard cam)
Take the props off and try balancing them
Hi Ryan, yep you need mass for a damper like that to work, for those thinking this is a deal breaker though, you can probably get softer damper balls (there's a pun there somewhere) or you could carefully and slowly drill the existing balls (there's a pun there too) through the centre line to loosen them up abit.....I'm not going to go into the puns, they would be distasteful ;-)
Looks like a great quad..one day, we'll be able to choose our rates on a RTF.
Ben Portman LOL! :)~ And I think also simply adding some weight to the camera, or replacing it with a heavier camera like the Mobius, would work too. :)
yeah, it would.. erm, damper balls, drilling and would.....not going there
shame there's not a cat in the vieo ;-)
Good flight Thanks for sharing.
this is the best drone under 100 dollars
Very nice review! It really is sporty and was considering getting one but the motors concern me. In my opinion the camera was terrible and useless. SO shaky and a ton of jello :( If the motors are proven to have a good life I will get one. GB has the no camera version for like $60 free shipping!
Those shock mounts look way too stiff and the transmitter is wearing a tie!
Yeah the mounts are too stiff. Nice soft ones like the WLToys V666 has would fix that, but the camera quality is mediocre anyway. As a straight LOS flyer without the prop guards and camera it would be super nice.
-or maybe replace the camera with an 808 #16 and softer mounts.
Nice screwdriver, that's a bonus!
Not bad for the money. It seems like if you buy in a certain price range a little fiddling around is necessary.
Awesome review! Man.. . You make me wanna get one and fly it top speed past my face! I think I'm gonna go for the WLToys brushless though :P
Frequent Flyer RC Those new "XK" models? Those look pretty nice. :)
Frequent Flyer RC You sure you wanna hold off? The "new" (smaller box) no camera YZ X6 is on sale now at Gearbest for $55 with real free shipping. I couldn't resist. Just ordered one.
RCotaku69 o_0
Hey Ryan.. Nice review as always..
This is the best quad i own right now.. I wish to point few things.. This quad has a range of 300m.. To calibrate the gyro you need to push both sticks left (not right as you mentioned).. On/Off switch would have been better.. This can lift a GoPro without any issues..
Abdul Jabbar Hmm, maybe sticks left or right both work, or maybe JJRC changed it? Because it's definitely down-right for me.
Ryan thx a lot of thank because I used to buy thing from flipkart but they were cheating me when I looked a drone it rated 5000 RS but in bang godd.com it is for just 3000
Wow a wild Indian spotted
nice review my friend have fun RCing
I think that loose swivel mounted lens is the culprit in all that jello. Might want to glue it in place . I'll bet that will help.
TimmyV Ah, good thinking. I'm sure that has something to do with it too. :)
Excellent review , as usual :) Ordered one but they haven't shipped yet :(
Hi Ryan! I'm back with another request. The Nine Eagles Sky Eagle. Thats the first plane I had but did not keep for a long period... But anyway, i wanted a review to see what you think about it. Glad to hear back from you!
Natanael Fazon That is definitely more of a beginner-friendly plane than the other ones you were asking about. But, I try to keep my reviews focused on more new products, which people are actively looking to buy. So I think that would be too old to be worth taking the time to review.
Hmm.. I'm out of ideas then lol. Can you trie to tell me about any more planes to review?
Natanael Fazon Planes aren't really my specialty, and they are harder for me to fly in my location, and with as windy as it is in my town, so they aren't something I look into that much. I did just review the E-flite Spacewalker, but I don't have any other planes on my radar for the future, at this time.
I think I may actually get one of these.. the one w/o the cam, and then cut off the prop guards, and then stick on a micro FPV setup. I think it may be a very cost effective FPV quad with decent run time and performance.
BWX Oh crap.. Looks like these Chinese rip-off artists are at it again (like the cheerson CX10 -multiple versions that have crappy gyros, but vers. 1 was good)
So I search on RCG before I pull the trigger on one of these.. and notice a lot of people having same exact problem with a bunch of "version 2" boards with this Yizhan.
So looks like they give youtube reviewers a good version 1 board, and then quickly switch to crappy (and cheaper) "version 2" boards that have tons of defective gyros on them.. so the quad loses calibration in flight and crashes or is useless. That is just like the Cheerson quads I had same problems with when I got a ver2 and then a ver 3 after vers 1s were all gone..
It also explains the cheaper price now, to sucker even more people in.. I guess I am glad I searched RCG.. now I won't be the sucker throwing $60 in the trash. The one without cam is now $55 on GB. Of course their return policy is crap too I found out. They give 50% credit on new one if you want to buy a new one and roll the dice, or you can spend a ton of money to ship it back to them, even after you prove that the thing is defective in a video.
WTF man.. These damned things are just a scam lately. I know I will get one with a bag gyro, and it will be a paperweight.. So I'm not even going to risk $55 to find out.
BWX
cool quad and great review !!
love your videos man! keep up the good work!
+Ian Duncan Thanks! :)
Can you try putting on weights or a heavier camera to see if it works please
wow awesome quad thanks for sharing. :)
thank you Ryan
hi, my X6 is broken but my transmitter is great. can i pair this transmitter with some other receiver coz X6 receiver is no more available in market?
Thank you, Nice review ...
But the camera looks like as if you are sinking in water XD
Wow I watched other videos and the camera was perfect
+Isaiah singleton They probably modded their camera mount.
+Flyin' Ryan RC thanks I didn't think of that
Oh wow that's a beautiful quad, AND it flies great! I think I might get this for my next quad. Cheers, Ryan :D
Edit: Are the props balanced? Unbalanced props can add a SERIOUS amount of jello to videos.
Jordan O'C Nope, I've never balanced a prop in my life. heh
Flyin' Ryan RC Oh lord, really? It's so easy! Especially for the props with straight-through screw holes; just stick a paperclip through it and adjust weight with tape accordingly haah.
You know, I don't think you're going to find a better quad at this size for this price for a looong time.
Great review! Have you tried balancing the props for the Jello problem?
Frank Pirolo No. I would imagine that would help a bit, but I think the majority of the problem is that the camera is simply too light for the mount to work as intended.
I think it'd be a much better idea to buy it from Amazon. Even though it is just a bit more pricey, Amazon customer support is amazing and when I ordered my Kaideng K70C from banggood, they said it was out of stock. I emailed them, specifically telling them that they should NOT ship it and just cancel the order. Next thing I know it's at my door. I contacted banggood, but they don't give a. I got a dromida vista from Amazon, I crashed it, it broke, I contacted them, AND THEY SENT ME ONE FOR FREE! It arrived not even 24 hours after I contacted them. The best part, I didn't have to ship the broken one back. ANYONE WHO IS BUYING A DRONE, PLEASE LOOK ON AMAZON FOR IT FIRST. Not a promotion, just helping out.
Another great video
Can you try in the v686g fpv module work on this?
good review
nice!
Some jello effect?! There is alot of it XD Nice clip man. Keep it up :D
SweBerra Yeah, though I've seen even worse. heh
Flyin' Ryan RC yeah jjrc h12c
Your "hat cam" video quality is excellent. What camera are you using in this review?
My hatcam is a Mobius Action Cam (it's only $70!).
I might buy this without the camera and mount my camera!
Ryan great video. I'm a newbie and would like some advice. if I wanna drone or quadcopter about this size, and have no interest in video or pictures just great performance and pictures. what would you recommend?
This would be a good one for that. It is a better performer than it is a camera platform, so just order the version without the camera to save a few bucks. :)
BNIB here and I cant get it to bind? LEDs just blink rapidly non stop? any ideas? it worked for 5 mins while I broke in the motors ay my table, then swapped batteries and it will not bind, no matter what I do, just sits there blinking rapidly
You over charged your drones battery not the remote I had it happen to me u need a new battery
Would artificially adding weight to the camera (with coins, maybe?) give the vibration dampers more of an effect?
Bfyobrian12 I would think so.
Nice
how would this be for a first time quad owner? I had the cherrson but it didn't work when I got it. Id prefer a bigger one. I have the room
+mzondi1970 I wouldn't suggest learning on something this big, unless you have other 4ch flying RC experience. This is my suggestion for beginners: th-cam.com/video/N4qJNgV0DGI/w-d-xo.html
+Flyin' Ryan RC thank you for the response I just ordered that one off of Amazon with some extra batteries. I've been wanting to try flying I might buy this copter has a third or fourth model eventually
+mzondi1970 the udi that is
I'll look again hate not to have extras thanks
"slight jello" :D
Cool vid, looks like a winner. For the Yaw rate, you can't go wrong with that Eachine H8 :P
darkangle2000now Well, unless you want to actually fly circuits. lol The H8 yaw is *too* fast for actual flying, and really only good for going crazy with it.
Flyin' Ryan RC Hate to bother you for something unrelated (still drones though). I picked up this drone for 16 euro's at a well known retailer here a while back, but they always label stuff like it's their own (they sold multiple awesome silverlit choppers as housebrand for example). www.sentinelli.nl/wp-content/uploads/image1526.jpg this is the drone, but I've not been able to find out which one it really is. Do you have any idea? Flies like an aggressive dream, so I was curious where I could order a few more.
darkangle2000now Hah, funny you should ask, as I was *just* looking at that on Gearbest's website!! www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_193045.html
Flyin' Ryan RC That's so funny. Small world. Well, if you're looking for a funny RTF to review, I'd recommend it. It has no major flaws except for a very twitchy altitude control and for some reason the LED's in the front are red (my trusty screwdriver fixed that, since all my other quads have blue in the front and it confused me to no end). Even the controller range is (for the 3 I tested) a lot further then what the generic booklet mentioned.
Quick responses, excellent yaw (you'd love it) and leveled flips when the battery is still full. I'd love to see your review on that one too to be honest. But I've gotten to know your tastes a bit for micro's and I'm fairly sure you'll have no major beef with it.
My wife was asking if you're perhaps going to do a top 10 2015 micro's (her fav) or a personal favorite list.
Everyone we get into flying RTF cheap drones seem to end up on your channel (we keep getting mailed to by them about "this informative channel they just found" :) ), so perhaps it would be nice as a starter guide for what is recommended to buy. They get swamped by so many options that they always ask us for a cheat list to choose from.
Just a thought though.
As always, keep em coming, we look forward to all of your reviews.
darkangle2000now I am definitely considering another "Top" video, of some sort. I just have to decide what categorization I want to go with, and what to include. :)
just got one of these for free Ryan ;-) it crashed landed in my friends garden, bounced off his moms head hanging out the washing haha , just need a tx ... apparently a devo 7e binds to it ....
+Andy M A Devo won't bind to this unless you mod it with the Deviation software.
+Flyin' Ryan RC ahh ok , was told i could just bind it , they didnt tell me about software , ok cool thankyou Ryan
whats the difference between the YiZhan version and the JJRC X6 version? the JJRC X6 box doesnt say Tarantula or the company YiZhan and looks different too. are they the same just different packaging?
Yeah, as far as I know they are the exact same thing, other than the branding.
Ryan. Thinking about using this for some moderate FPV racing with My little FX797T micro cam and My Eachine VR-007 goggles. You think a hard mounted micro cam would vibrate too much ? My modified Nano QX's work great with that set up and have 0 vibration.
With big gear-driven props like this, I think you are much more likely to get vibration. I also think this would be an odd platform for FPV, since the pitch will vary so much.... seems like the camera view would be moving all over the place while you try to fly.
LOL, bummer. Well I gotta try, I got one coming. I mount My micro cam on My giant scale planes and heli's with sponges and it works great. I'm used to the fixed cam with the Nano QX's racing with friends. Well I'm pretty excited to try. At worst I order the mount and camera for this. Great video and thanks for making it. I decided to buy mine because of Your review. Take care !
Are you able to fly it straight & have it do a side flip while going forward? Like a barrel role basically ... Or does it need to be in a hover to do the Flips??
Erwin Delarmente No, not really. All/most quads stop and hover before doing a flip, even if you are moving when you press the button.
Flyin' Ryan RC OK tnx
do a review on the Hong Tai F805c
Just purchased one without camera for my GoPro. Hopefully I come up with a good rig
+Mathew Krahftwerks Carrying that much weight with brushed motors will surely kill the motors quickly.
+Flyin' Ryan RC what would you recommend as an entry level drone to carry a gopro
+Mathew Krahftwerks There is no such thing. Carrying a heavy camera like that is not an entry-level task. You need to learn how to fly first, and then move your way up to aerial videography.
whats the best quad with a camera to get under 300$
hi fyin Ryan i was wondering have you tested the range of the quad and if so can you let me know im trying to figure out if there's a difference between the jjrc brand and the yi zhan brand specifically in the range thank you
+Aaron Melton I doubt there is any range difference in the two. I think JJRC simply rebranded the YiZhan, and made no changes otherwise. But, I do not know for sure, as I do not do range testing and do not condone long-range flying.
thx ryan
if i were to put a gopro 3 on it what mount should i use??
Hi,could you tell me of what wud be better, the x6 or mjx x600?I know there totally different but could you just tell me?
Well, "better" is relative, so it all depends on what sort of features you are looking for, and your level of flying experience.
Would you recommend me getting extra motors and props for these? I will be visiting the US and having it ship to where I will stay. I live in the Philippines and as much as possible I would like to keep it running as long as possible.
Yeah, that would be a good idea for long-term use. :)
Is the Mate Tarantula x6 drone the same model as the Yizhan Tarantula x6
INTELMAXELL Yeah, that appears to be a rebranded version of this same quad. :)
They are $41.00 now no canera .. Have one on the way will put run cam on if needed.I will see how it compares to my 2 Alias,s..ha..Question;;;Have you tried the other transmitter WL Toys x2x ? Which did you like better if you did. I have 2 wl toys transmitters x2x. thank you as always Quad guru ...
+Bill Gerety I prefer the V222 transmitter myself, but it's really just a matter of personal preference.
well im between moderate and beginner.I want one which is doable indoors
I swear this model shares components with the Syma X8 - sounds similar, controller beeps sound the same etc. Is there any relationship that you are aware of?
Paul W Not specifically, that I know of. But a lot of these electronic components are probably shared all throughout the industry, and China. Like the controller beeps, I'm sure that's just some generic piece of electronics that is used in countless Chinese-made toys.
hey can you please make a video on how to break into the motors cause im new to quads and im really interested
+The Random King There are tons of videos on TH-cam about how to break in motors. Basically, run the throttle as low as possible for an entire battery, stopping every few minutes to let the motors cool.
+Flyin' Ryan RC k thx
I have an up coming dilemma Ryan? Since I never received the V686 I ordered, I am leaning towards X6 since it's on sale and just buying the separate FPV system they sale that also goes on a V686. I was all for an 686g as I thought it was a lil bit bigger than the X5C-1 I have, but found out recently it's about the same. So Two questions really, 1. which would be more fun and cam worthy the X6 or V686? And 2. Is the V686 in any way perform better than a X5C-1? I asked the latter because if it is about the same I might as well get the X5C-1 FPV system and save some Money V686 and get a Tarantula for sport flying. Got X11 on the way as well thanks for the help on that. I like Quads with X's in the model # lol.
+wild300zx I would say put FPV on your X5C and get the X6 purely for fun sport flying. The X6 is not a great camera platform, and the V686 is not that different from the X5C.
+Flyin' Ryan RC I was pretty much thinking the same, and it would be cheaper. I was just really impressed with the video from V686 and liked the fact I could take the cam right of and put on the X6.
I heard that this TX will work with the XK X250 Alien. Is that correct? I have an Alien and would like to have a faster controller.
+brian s Yes, that is correct. :)
It has a bowl full of jello, do you think it can handle a larger camera
Willie Walley Yeah, as Jim said, this can handle a GoPro, or equivalent, though keep in mind that lifting that sort of weight with brushed motors is likely to kill them rather quickly.
Ryan would this be alright for a first quad copter for a little kid? probably not right
+richard zglobicki Definitely not. Too big and sporty. This is my suggestion for beginners: th-cam.com/video/N4qJNgV0DGI/w-d-xo.html
Dear Ryan, mine is drifting sometimes to the right and I tried trimming it out then it drifts to the left I tried contacting baggood but haven't got a hold of them yet and thoughts ? RIch
+richard zglobicki Sounds like that could just be natural drifting. No quad will hover completely in place without GPS.
I had this prob on my MJX X400. Even inside the house it suddenly moved sidewards and changed level. It drove me mad. I narrowed it down to a crack in the shell on one side. On that side the two prop-arms where not as stiff to each other than on the other side. When I taped the quad with texture tape the problem was gone. I think the gyro got confused or so. The body shell (in some designs) seems to play a big role in the stability of flight. Maybe you should try to switch the quad on when it's on a leveled surface.
the battery is a 2s lipo you said, which side plugs into the charger, the red or the white
Cooper Guillaume The white plug (balance plug) connects to the charger.
I was wondering if you could help me, I got this quad worked fine, after a while i had a few crashes nothing bad, not visible damage apart from some bending on the props. Now if I try to use the camera the led does not go full blue it flashed blue and green meaning the camera for some reason will not work. All that aside great vid!
TheLaquconic Have you tried reformatting the memory card, or using a different memory card?
This is my first cam quad so I dont have another card, but I will look into this reformatting, Thanks ;-).
I wanted to try one of those Syma X5c FPV Kits on my Tarantula. I have the one without the camera. So do you think that would be ok to purchase the FPV kit by Syma and use Velcro to strap it on the bottom? Is there any other better option for FTP on a Tarantula? I been hearing good things about that Syma FPV kit.......
+Marvelousod There is a similar kit made for the Tarantula: www.banggood.com/JJRC-H16-YiZhan-Tarantula-X6-WLtoys-V666-V686G-V222-5_8G-FPV-720P-Camera-With-Monitor-Real-Time-Transmission-p-1001396.html?p=Z431161082112012126P
Thanks.
I fly 6ch helis but want to get into quads to would I be able to fly this quad as a first time quad
+Barry Smith Yeah, if you are an experienced CP heli pilot, you should have no problem flying this.
I think the video is useless but the quad is greate, maybe it´s possible to mod it to support a gopro camera.
P.S. the plastic isn't cheap, it's called flexible. Breaking in the motors is recommended
+John Doran Hi what is it you do to break in the motors? thanks
+RC944jim you put throttle on low for about 30sec then stop. then repeat the same thing until the battery runs out 😀😀
+Dillon Ravindu Thanks will do on my next new brushed motor quad.
+RC944jim don't forget ... one of the motors died on my 2nd flight of my q7 ... will do when I receive this and my nihui u807
Ryan, good incisive review. Good flying quad, video too wobbly, unusable. The transmitter looks like it is wearing a necktie! Is that for making overhead vids of formal events?
351mrclean Hahaha! :D
how do u use it when i turn it on it goes in a diffrent direction then i set it to
The PC Gamer You could answer your own question by doing a bit of research, but sure, I'll take my time to explain it to you instead... headless mode means that the quad's movements are always the same, regardless where the front of the quad is actually facing. So up on the right stick should always move the quad forward away from you, even if it's actually facing to the left. However, this mode is very unreliable and doesn't really work well, and the directions can slowly change with time. I would suggest just not using it.
Hiya Ryan, I might have missed your saying it, it has brushed motors doesn't it?
That is correct.
Thanks Man. ordered one and the fpv kit
Could a person use a regular RC charger and charge at 1C or 2C to speed up the charging?
Yes, if you have a charging cable with the right connector.
You should review the new husban
Isaac Chavez I will when they come out. :)
I wonder if this quad (the no camera version) plus an FPV kit such as this one: www.banggood.com/Syma-X5C-1-X5SC-X5SW-5_8G-FPV-720P-Camera-with-Monitor-Real-Time-Transmission-p-980090.html could work together.
I'm on the fence with buying the V686G as a first FPV quad on a budget, but the above combo (even if it would require a bit of modding) feels like a great possible alternative.
HalNeinThousand I think that would work, since that Syma FPV camera has its own battery, and thus doesn't even need to be plugged into the quad. You couldn't control it from the transmitter, to start taking video, etc, but it would be transmitting FPV video constantly regardless of that. The problem I'd see with flying this FPV, though, is that it has so much forward pitch that the camera would be staring at the ground a lot of the time, making it difficult to see ahead of you while flying.
Dear Ryan!
What's your favourite sports quad/multirotor so far? :)
Sabin Teodor Felea Blade 200 QX :)
