Anthony Macri is the best example.. I remember with a friend of mine that was at the very top of 500cc outlaw sprint karts, which is that of power to weight ratio of World of Outlaws sprint cars... Mike Wheeler who was hired to race a midget at the Chili bowl because he beat Kyle Larson in the Outlaw karts.. it was like he was racing on ice at the chili bowl.. wasn't the drivers fault... the race was lost in the pits.. he's never been back since.
If cal had his car there, things would be different. Either way, as a fellow west aussie, we are proud of his opportunity, sometimes things dont work out as they should, but thats life, cal will pick up another ride, hes talented enough, he just needs someone to believe
Aussie Gary Brazier struggled racing in Pa for awhile until he got used to the paperclip tracks. Trone and crewchief need to get their shit together, Callum can drive no question the car didn't look very settled and left hand way past 12 o'clock which indicates wrong setups. Aussie tracks are throttle tracks.
At the end of the day just look at Trone in one package 📦 1. They can’t even run there fb page to update supporters 2. Colour scheme on the car is shit. Cant even get that right 3. When they hit the track the setup looks horrendous.
No question about Callum's ability. I was hanging around with them at Selinsgrove a bit. Ryan Newton was pitted next to the Trone team and some of the guys with them are friends of mine. I enjoyed meeting Callum and his Dad. Really nice people. Got to catch up with Kevin Frey who I hadn't seen in years. When I asked Carl (Callum's Dad) what his thoughts were, he said it was just unbelievable, the size and speed of the track. Callum agreed, but he ran that place strong! I was impressed. It can't be easy coming over here from the other side of the planet and have the racing world's eyes on you to perform miracles out of the box because you're a star somewhere else. Perhaps it was the "fit" that was off as you say? Who knows? I'd like to see more Callum Williamson here in the USA. Not to mention I like his last name too!

I think the biggest issue for Aussie Racers is racing in Australia is side project where as in America it's a job.

When Callum first announced he was going to drive for Trone the negative comments about them started to flow.
The Trone car has not won a race in forever no matter who drives it including Hodnett, perhaps its not the driver

I believe it's more the car than the driver
Put Pursley in it.
Chaz you fkd up everyone's larson and bla bla.
How about west coast 360s
Sprint car racing is a microcosm. Get him on the line Chaz.
Theres not one ausse gone to the usa and gone good first few races simple
an aussie here! a pretty tough ask to be an instant success straight away!
Its a shame. I thought he was supposed to go to KNOXVILLE and Eldora in the 39. Could be wrong idk.
Is Tony Stewart selling Eldora to High Limits? Lot's of speculation going around...
Spreading false rumors?
This is sad seems like a very good guy wish him the best of luck
