The Red Hot Chili Peppers playing Search and Destroy (Iggy Pop cover) at Olympia, Paris on 2002 - เพลง
AK: ''I can't remember the lyrics but you wanna play it?" Delivers one of his best performance ever, then fucks up lyrics on some song they play every night on some other show! I still love him.
The brain is really wierd i swear... i feel like i do similar type of fuck ups, doesnt help if im doing an exam or some sht...
Even though this wasn't a note-for-note perfect cover, the attitude & *raw power* made it great
As Joe Strummer said... Do you want it to sound like the record... Your in the wrong place then...
theyre playing a sort of mix of the stooges album version some stooges live version and the dictators version.
I actually prefer this if I say so myself. As a drummer, I may be partial to the fills Chad is fitting in here.
Chad saves it though
Jhon fruciante made it with his riffs 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥
Johns tone & aggressive style is spot on for this song...My fav...
I remember the first time hearing this as a kid and thinking why didn’t this make it on Blood Sugar…my dad heard me playing it and said “that’s the stooges!”
At that point I knew I needed to listen to the stooges.
This is one of the greatest covers ever.
Yes indeed, it may not seem like it's frequent, but sometimes 'Father knows best' is an appropriate phrase, and a wise decision on your part, to listen, I would have to say... As robust and spirited a cover of this one, as I've heard in quite a while, indeed...Should add that at least your Dad knew of what he spoke about. My own father, upon hearing it played, back when it was released, wasn't quite so positively impressed. I recall him stating with some profanity, what a load of noise it was, nothing more. Ah well, 'no accounting for personal taste' I suppose. The folks always did like Mantovani and Lawrence Welk much more than anything I ever brought home...
@@universallanguage59 to be fair profanity should be everyones first reaction to the original version
that was...just...I can't describe how awesome that was.
It's one of the best rock songs ever made, but the RHCP's cover, is just, the best cover of this song I've ever heard. And I've seen so many god damn bands cover this. I mean the first time I heard the RHCP cover of this was back in like 92 or 93 for a friggin' beavis and butthead cd or something, and it has remained the best cover of this song I've ever heard. Not knocking any other versions, but god damn son.
Agreed
Lol the end of your comment is what I'm feeling for this performance.... long live this video . Please Lord
Not even close to the intensity of The Stooges, as a Detroiter who moved to LA for the music scene in 1981, LA was fun, but never nearly as intense as Detroit, nor were the Chili Peppers anywhere near as good as The Stooges or MC5. They got closer covering another Detroiter, Stevie Wonder, on Higher Ground, but once again, I'll always prefer the Stevie original version. More musical, and once again, more intense, with that great groove he had, as did The Stooges. RHCP are a bit lacking in the groove feel. But many props to them for at least doing it not all that badly. Kiedis is a bore compared to The PopMeister.
Not a huge RHCP fan, but dammit this is rocking
Just one thing to say - The Dictators.
John is back. Loved Josh, but this is huge. All is right in the world.
I'm fucking crying. What a time to be alive!
Man the drums there isn't a lot of drummers like Chad man! He is great!
looks like john really wanted to play it.
Davy F. John fucking loves Iggy and David Bowie
He is just so happy! It's infectious
John motherfuckin Frusciante!!
John is just so in control of that guitar its fuckjng insane !!!!
BEST BAND OF MY GENERATION
Holy crap now that’s an awesome song. Long time pepper fan first time hearing this one. Amazing.
It's a Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
By far the best live version of this song.
BTW tour = RHCP highest peak
JOHN FRUSCIANTEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Dunnuts He's my favorite guitarist
Dunnuts And musician in general, he's such a great composer, and his solo career is amazing
yeaah, his solo career is sooo Beautiful, The Empyrean, Curtains, Foregrow and others.
@@mamede31 shadows collide with people…
Watching cause they played it last night.
Im jealous..
kiedis does look like Iggy pop
Well he is his son.
@@jprp999 wtf? nope
not at all ..Only the verystr8 hair :P
Nah
Amazing performance! I wish i was there! By the way, RHCP really miss John Frusciante, especially live, the energy and the guitar sound of John can't be matched
Just discovered this incredible cover!! Probably my favorite ❤❤❤❤❤ AK acting like he didn’t know the lyrics and then murdered it!
JF as always coming through like a God
Beautiful John, truly beautiful.
God bless this guys
Incrível.. que sonzeira... John foda demais
They were on FIRE.
This is fantastic. They got the spirit in them!
I saw the red hot ,they're closed the concert with this song,amazing......lucky me..
Gotta like this video in the first second cause, you know... John taking his shirt off... ❤
Débora Camilo If you're covering an Iggy song, it's required :P
John and flea nailed it.
John shoulda just sung it
It’s the first time I listen this version and I gotta admit I really like it!
Just WOW... they slaughtered this song. John the Frusciante!!!
Excellent. Will Ferrell is kickin' it on the drums ;-)
And John needs at least one more Marshall stack. His side of the stage is a couple hundred pounds light.
the version from "Raw Power" is a classic but this version from RHCP is also really good and it's difficult so say which version is better, both are really good.
They crush everything !!!!!!
Scanning the scene in the city tonight
We're looking for you to start up a fight
There's an evil feeling in our... Oh ... wrong song
Lol wrong song man! Both great songs though 😁😜
Hahahaha. This was actually the reason why I clicked this video.
Searching....seek and destroooyyy. \m/
THEY ALL TOOK THEIR SHIRTS OFF IN A GREAT TRIBUTE TO IGGY POP THE GRANDFATHER OF ROCK PUNK AND ET. AL
man was improsving the lyrics and didn’t skip a beat
Fucking awesome.
the energy......... insane
Dios como me encantan rhcp❤ Ecuador
Sounds great. Anthony reminds me of, of all people, Glenn Danzig at the songs beginning say 1:23 to 1:30), with those particular gestures and the fighting gloves on (See Danzig's "Mother '93" video).
love the cover stooges for life
This is you making it up as you go?!! You got it spot one!!
Isso é surreal
Punks aint dead✊
Great cover iggy pop 😎🤘
When I listen to this song, my body starts to jump.
Very nicely done .
Pretty Good. Thanks to your guitarist!!! Yes !
la cara de felicidad de john, como lo quierooo
I knew this song by EMF. I am glad to know they have played this song.
Everybody taking off their shirts and chad is like "nope, it's a tad bit cold for that"
When somebody is refering to a Chad, they might be talking about this guy.
SHOW !😍😍👏👏
Amazing cover !!!
Loucos Maravilhosos!🔥😍❤
Goddam i was like iggy sounds really good here lmao didnt know it was rhcc until it ended. Badass cover
John es irreemplazable
The adventures of KILLIDOSCOPE from OUT NEAR THE END OF MACHINE GUN ALLEY, the French was pardoned from Detroits' Iggy Pop to Grand Rapids and Anthony's Red Hot Chili Peppers, we got the king pin Norvals U.S. Patent shop tool along with the Patent to gun powder, Edison 1984,.....these guys rock!
Yesssss More More
John frusciante + my childhood= good and everything nice.
Sus covers siempre son mejores que la versiones originales
Uhmm es depende de gustos
Tal vez a ti sí te gusta su cover
Ta buenísimo el cover, pero no es mejor que el original, ósea estamos hablando de los putos stooges
OH MI DIOS😱.!!!!! ANTHONY😍😍😍🙈😘
Best ever!
Beautiful !
Merci !
❤ my favorite song 😘😘😘
Anthony Kiedis' tailor is George Santos?! FUCK YEAH!!!
John 😍
Sooooooo amazing
sick !! :) thanks for that
This is my favorite song by this band!
Chad beats the drums like a red haired step child.
chad was pretty good at making it appear that hard hitting drumming is the best fucking thing in the world and i confidently tried to follow.
This is the most rock and roll song of them
Still pretty fucking awesome for just winging it!🤘
follow that up Josh!!!
Anthony .... ♥️♥️♥️
they've already done a cover of this song in 91, so i find it hard to believe that anthony didn't knew the lyrics...
great performance tho, john was on fire!
Well, now imagine standing on the stage and try to remind yourself a song you sung more than 10 years ago and you have like half a minute for it
nwm nwm yes, it must have been hard, especially considering anthony's history with song lyrics haha i just meant that he probably already knew the lyrics, although maybe he didn't remember it at that time
Perfect
Love Iggy
Soundgarden blazed this song most of allll
The first punk tube, waaaaaaaay before punk was a thing !
Yann Willaime Check your music history. Think you're off by 30-40 years or so.
Steven Pivornik I think he may be referring to the original version of search and destroy
What a great cover - even looks like a young Iggy Pop
easily one of the best punk songs they've done
Actually it's a cover from iggy and the stooges, but this live version sounds better than the original for me.
Not a huge rhcp fan, however, sweet fuck. Might be now!
EPIC!!
Anthony is a MICHIGANDER
Fellow Michigander Iggy was a bit older
- and no doubt a huge influence on him
Great!!!
I'm a streetwalking cheetah with a heart full of napalm
I'm a runaway son of the nuclear A-bomb
I am the world's forgotten boy
The one who searches and destroys
Honey gotta help me please
Somebody gotta save my soul
Baby, detonate for me
Oh
Look out honey, 'cause I'm using technology
Ain't got time to make no apology
Soul radiation in the dead of night
Love in the middle of a fire fight
Honey, gotta strike me blind
Somebody gotta save my soul
Baby, penetrate my mind
And I'm the world's forgotten boy
The one who's searchin', searchin' to destroy
And honey I'm the world's forgotten boy
The one who's searchin', only to destroy, hey
Look out honey, 'cause I'm using technology
Ain't got time to make no apology
Soul radiation in the dead of night
Love in the middle of a fire fight
Honey, gotta strike me blind
Somebody gotta save my soul
Baby, penetrate my mind

The one who's searchin', searchin' to destroy
And honey I'm the world's forgotten boy
The one who's searchin', only to destroy, hey
Forgotten boy, forgotten boy
Forgotten boy said, hey, forgotten boy, said
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm
I'm a runaway son of the nuclear A-bomb
I am a world's forgotten boy
