I know how it feels to lose your mother. My mother didn't pass away like yours did though, mine abandoned me and 3 of my siblings. I was 7 at the time and I pretend that it doesn't hurt anymore but it does. Broken hearts never entirely mend and that pain will always be there but you get used to it eventually.
I view the past as lesson taught. You either learn the lesson or you don't. I learned the lesson and moved on with life. Sometime you gotta learn the hard way and that way when the right one is there, we'll all know. I appreciate the kind words. Life's a dance, you learn as you go.

this song reminds me of my brother He rides broncs and got his right eye kicked out by a horse then 2months after that had a horse land on its back with him on it and broke some ribs his pelvis and hip but now 5 months later he is riding again! I will never forget him coming home that day after his first ride since this happened and watch the tears of joy falling from his eyes because he proved to himself and everyone else that he could still do it! This boy is truely my hero i love u bubba!

I can agree you cant just become a cowboy or cowgirl as everyone is putting it below. I grew up in the city til I was about 11 then we moved out to the country, that is when I started riding. I help at the barn by my house just to get the chance to ride. they are saying you are born with it maybe I was maybe I wasn't but neither of my parents or none of my grandparents were horse people for farm people. you have it in your heart I think and you either get it at a young age or you don't get it at all and it ends up being a phase in a childs life. in my case loving horses was not a phase. my aunt had horses and growing up any time I could go to her house I would spend hours outside by the fence just loving them horses. I have now trained several of my own horses. lost my best horse last winter (that I did not train) so I had the mare I have now left and she needed a complete makeover and needed retrained because of certain people. maybe my love for horses and that passion for it skipped several generation until it got to me.

Our country was built by slaves, Native Americans, and cowboys. The cowboy is a dying breed so you're pretty god damned lucky if, out of nowhere, a city person is a cowboy at heart. The day I kicked him out after 7 long years of ups and downs he cried like a baby! He called me everyday, begged me to let him come back, and cried. I still haven't dated anyone else, and probably never will even though I get offers every day! I loved him more than life, and he killed me that night. 27 years old, and torn to pieces by a cowboy's cry! I'll be 30 on Halloween, and I never want to hear or see another cowboy cry!

Busted bones, Heart attack, Run over by cars twice, I should of been dead 3 dozen times, 4 busted marriages - never cried through it all, Found my soulmate and we dated longer than a couple of the marriages survived before I accepted her proposal of marriage - 6 weeks before the wedding she was killed by a drunk driver - I cried for for two days solid and still cry on occasion - So just a plea to all - Drink to your hearts content but put the keys up and don't drive - someone will regret your choice if you don't.

To all y'all saying you can't just become a cowboy I'm sure 80% of you are the so called "poser" I think if you live the lifestyle your a cowboy not all people are lucky enough to be born into a ranching family. I'm sure 50% of the pbr riders weren't born into ranching family's but we still call them all cowboys and they are.
Maybe your apart of that 80% because 1st of all you never have to call yourself a cowboy or prove it 2nd there's a lot of country boys that live on a ranch and ride just like i live on a ranch but i do different things on my ranch then a country boy does on his. 3rd being a cowboy isn't a life style your born a cowboy 4th cowboys have a certain way we live and never compromise that , yes a lot of people don't understand our way of life or way we do what we do but that's ok. My best friend also passed away. He had a traumatic Brian tumor that was undetected til it was too late. Almost a year ago. May 26,2014

Try to stand up tall with a straight face and admit you cry not cause your in pain for a injury but because your in pain from losing some one or some thing close not only to you but to your heart. To all y'all saying you can't just become a cowboy I'm sure 80% of you are the so called "poser" I think if you live the lifestyle your a cowboy not all people are lucky enough to be born into a ranching family. I'm sure 50% of the pbr riders weren't born into ranching family's but we still call them all cowboys and they are.

Maybe your apart of that 80% because 1st of all you never have to call yourself a cowboy or prove it 2nd there's a lot of country boys that live on a ranch and ride just like i live on a ranch but i do different things on my ranch then a country boy does on his. 3rd being a cowboy isn't a life style your born a cowboy 4th cowboys have a certain way we live and never compromise that , yes a lot of people don't understand our way of life or way we do what we do but that's ok. It's a true honor to be called a cowboy there's nothing better. People want to be a cowboy but they don't know what a cowboy really is or have a heart or a cowboy. Always stay true to yourself. Started roping at 23 after living back east & moved to Texas...ran cows on horseback; cut, doctored, branded and rodeoed. Guess I'm not a real cowboy and that's fine with me.
