A small cool detail that’s never brought up again in the series but is worth mentioning: see that cut on Sadie’s face in the island episode? It leaves a scar that’s visible in every appearance from then on.
Another thing i want to point out, is when steven says 'people go in and out of my room all the time' it really shows the lack of privacy this kid has. The only room with a door in the house (apart from the temple) is the bathroom. It's also why i think Roses room was such a big thing for steven. A room just for himself. The kid needs privacy asap.
I think the reason that pearl let Steven take the blame was because garnet would get really mad at pearl cause pearl should know better, but garnet wouldn’t have gotten mad at Steven, because he’s a dumb kid who doesn’t know any better.
Secret team is interesting. I think steven really just wanted the team back, so amethyst and pearl would work together and have fun (we barely see them get along). Trying to receate a specific situation. Them refusing to work together however left a situation where steven either has to take a side or distance himself from the conflict. And then Garnet stepped in and set some things right (like how they are already a team _and should act like a team_ ). This whole episode just gave me family conflict vibes.
Fun coincidence about Sadie. Her voice Actor is Kate Micucci from the Duo Garfunkel and Oates. One of their songs is called You, Me and Steve which manages to completely representing the island trip from the show even though it was released 4 years beforehand. It is a bit more mature than the intended audience of Steven Universe, but it's such an amazing coincidence that I just love sharing it.
Last thing i want to point out is how long steven actually was on the island. He was there for days, which should've run alarm bells with the gems. Best scenario, they warped around and just didnt find him or now. The two others are, either they didnt look or are still on the mission. They first would imply a bit of carelessness (and i dont really see the gems doing that?). The second would imply steven being left alone for extended periods of time. Which is bad for a kid. I'm moat likely reading into what should be a fun episode, but i just find these topics interesting. Not to mention, Sadie not only kept them trapped on the island, but also kept her and Lars from doing their jobs. Also, again, stevens one track mind. This time with 'i'm the warp master'. I love how he just yells his thoughts out loud once he latched onto an idea.

Episodes like the secret team truly showcase that the gems are by no means perfect. In fact they still have a lot to learn and make a lot of mistakes but seeing them grow as a team and especially their feelings about Steven is very rewarding ❤

Considering we learn gem shards are basically "dead" gems...the fact they reform as severd limbs become a whole lot more...disturbing
