That's the type of joke only Colin Mockery would think of
😂😂😂 funniest thing
i am not surprised, they were expensive, especially in the later seasons.
Colin is a national treasure. Watching him Ryan for these past 2 decades has been a terrific pleasure. Colin if you see this, thank you.
Colin says you're welcome
Maybe 🤔😊
@@aguyfromnewzealand3392 lol
People like him make me proud to be Canadian.🍁
@@OptimusGPrime Lots of comedic talent from Canada. What's your secret?

I wish Colin wrote an autobiography, and then did the audiobook. His voice is so fantastically calming.
Especially if it was improvised in one go without forethought
He wrote a book called ‚Not quite the classics‘ which is improvisef
He did! It’s called “You Don’t Need Hair To Satisfy Every Woman You’ve Ever Met.”
the audiobook would desync in minutes from all the improvisation!😂
Why not go straight to audiobook? What's the point of writing it?
Colin and Ryan are easily a top 5 comedy duo of all time.
Never knew they grew up together.
No wonder those provinces are so large... Ryan's shoes & all.
“I’m really not sure what I do.” Exactly. People will always say to me, “You should teach writing,” and my response is exactly that. I mean, I’ve been a writer most of my life, and I’ve never even written an outline. I’m basically the equivalent of an improv comic.
I actually used to be in an improv group in LA and I NEVER wanted to be stand-up comedian because I knew it would bore me to tears to have to repeat the same set every night. Because for me, humor is always in the moment- never rehearsed. If I had to repeat anything, it would no longer be funny.
In fact, you could say stand-up comedy would be the equivalent of having to do an outline for a writer like me.
For me Colin still holds the title for greatest improve response ever. Drew gave them the category "things you can say to your dog but not to your girlfriend". Colin walked up to the mark, looked straight into the camera and barked "COME!" Handa down winner.
Don’t forget about his finger movements! 😂
I remember watching this episode as a kid and not understanding the joke at all, but it stuck with me just for how the audience lost it. Many years later I finally understood what was so funny.
Ryan Stiles arguably topped Colin's one-word joke with a zero-word joke. The category was "People you do not want to encounter on a nude beach". Ryan walked up, stood there for a moment, then walked away. The crowd was in stitches, as was I.
@@thexalon That was a running gag. Ryan, or Colin, or sometimes both at once would do that for prompts that involved "people you wouldn't want to see [nude/in a sexy situation]." Killed me every time.
My favorite was the response to rejected gift ideas for baby Jesus. "Water skis" LMAO
What i recall of Robin from that episode was the number of time Colin stopped Robin dead and got a "wow" look form Robin. Colin was toe to toe every bit as good as Robin.
Ryan as well. His Carol Channing in other movies during scenes from a hat had Robin rolling. That had to be high moments for them to have one of the kings of improv admiring what they are capable of.
I wouldn't say as good as Robin, Robin was a once in a lifetime talent. Colin was great, amazing even, but Williams had a huge range.
the skit with Richard Simmons had to be the funniest 5 minutes i ever saw - the "jet skis" for goodness sake - 😄
Yes, should be in the TV hall of fame. Just amazing.
just broke out laughing thinking about that one, thanks
Oh my!
If I'm ever in a bad mood, I can put that skit on and be right as rain after
i have to say it was the number 1 skit that i have ever seen on that show, Richard and the guys killed it.
Colin and Ryan deserved their own buddy sitcom.
Love to see them cameo in "Only Murders in the Building: or something
An eternal thank you to that guy who pointed out that what they were doing is hard, because without that comment, we might have not had one of the greatest improv comedy shows in history.
umm didnt you hear the American version was the 2nd one.
@@sopcannon He said "one of." Doesn't mean it's the only one.
@@sopcannon umm yes I did, lol, but I liked the original US version way more than the British version so I was referencing it on purpose.
Collin is an absolute improv genius. Then pair him with Ryan and just try to breathe from laughing so hard. In my opinion Collin and Ryan together on Who's Line is just as good as Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were years ago.
It's weird to hear Colin "NI-YI-YICE PANTS!" Mochrie so mellow and calm. I guess I'm so used to seeing him jump around like a lunatic! Anyway, congrats on 32 amazing years of Whose Line, and whatever you do now, you'll have created memories for generations of folks like me.
Whose Line Is It Anyways is and probably will remain my all-time favorite show. I watched it all the way back when I was 10, and have grown up with it. I got into improv and voice acting as an adult because I was enamored with Ryan, Colin, Wayne, Drew, Greg, Brad, Chip, and everyone else on that show. And not a single other show has EVER made me laugh harder than Whose Line, every episode, every night. I know it's time is done, but I will never forget these folks and the joy they've imbued on my life through this show. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so very much!
And never forget: THE CAT!
If im not mistaken it was a callback to a moment earlier in the show right? When i first saw the clip from the irish drinking song (really hope it wasnt a hoedown lol), i laughed so damn hard cuz it just seemed so random.
Then at some point i seem to remember seeing a clip where the "meow" thing happened earlier in the show/before the song and thought to myself "oh wow, that a smart callback". Its been forever since i saw that clip so i hope im not mistaken lol.
But regardless if my memory has failed me or not, that second "meow" was just too damn much to handle😂😂😂😂😂😂
The cat is wet now!
@@diablejambe3460 It must drive the editors nuts because they keep doing these great callbacks, and those are hilarious, but they make it really hard to break four filming sessions up into 22 shows.
I stalked these guys for years trying to find every episode, DVDs, getting excited whenever it popped up again or was reborn in a different format. I just love the show in all its forms.
Colin is such a genuinely nice and funny guy, definitely a one of a kind dude.
He is the most adorably charming man I have ever seen.
Colin and Ryan are one of the great comedy teams of all time. And, yes, I'm including them in with the likes of Stan and Ollie, Lucy and Ethel, Nichols and May... And, in closing...Tap-i-OH-ca!
*Tim Conway and Harvey Korman
An arctic Tern?
BACKSTREET BOYS?
Colin's my favourite Whose Line performer. The episode with Robin Williams was great and Williams stole the show and he really had chemistry with Wayne Brady and Ryan Stiles.
The one with Whoopi Goldberg wasn't too bad. I believe close to the time she did Whose Line, a lot of the regulars and semi-regulars appeared on the game show "Hollywood Squares", where she was a regular panelist and one of the executive producers at the time.
They all brought their “A” game when Robin was on, and he loved it.
I was watching that episode 22 years ago... It was incredible!!
Williams didn't steal the show for one second. If anything he could see masters at work.
Come on, let's be fair to everybody. Williams didn't steal the show, but his specific energy and talent brought something special to it.
Remember during the director skit:
Williams: I am having trouble staying in character!
Mochrie: No kidding! (Paraphrasing)
Williams was often going a beat to five beats too long in his bits and you could feel how it was going against the rhythm of the comedy that we were used to.
It didn't take away from how much fun it was, ultimately
The Robin Williams episode of Whose Line is just awesome.... one of the best episodes of that show, easily. :)
I'm sure they is MORE then enough footage to create a season alone with Robin Williams on the show.
It hard for me to decide if the Robin Williams episode or the Richard Simmons episode is the best of the two. Both are definitely the top two
Colin is a gem. Not just as an improviser and artist, but as a person. I love seeing him show this side of him and be calm and thoughtful .
Loved him in Last One Laughing. He’s so wholesome and fun about the experience. He just wants to get everybody with a good joke.
we're going up against Friends but our entire show costs less than one friend
BRILLIANT
Ryan and Colin were the most hilarious duo in improv comedy. Love Drew and Wayne, but Colin & Ryan have had me laughing myself sick for the last 20+ years.
Colin and Ryan always broke Me up. Those 2 Guys were Comedy Gold!!!!
They were the perfect comedy duo
I do wish they had been able to get Robin on more often, he was the very incarnation of improv comedy, no one has ever done it better, not sure anyone will ever be able to do it as well either, I mean statistically yes, but not in my lifetime probably... He was a blessing on this world.
Not to diminish the great Robin Williams, but as Colin mentioned, there are tons of less famous improvisers who are mindblowingly good. I've seen many who match Williams' mile-a-minute skills. Luckily there are now lots of improv shows online so they are getting easier to find!
It hasn't had its time! It's awful that it's done. I've start rewatching every single episode online. It never gets old. Their improv comedy is timeless and perfectly executed.
it was over when drew left.
@@brandons2411 weird hill to die on
@@brandons2411 It became different when Drew left - just like it did when Clive Anderson wasn't in the chair anymore.
@@brandons2411not sure I'd go that far, but Drew's were the best years for sure

I wish I could see the world in 2023 with Robin still in it. Love the interview with Colin!
Colin's dinosaur gets me every time! It never gets old. 😊
Saw Colin and Brad Sherwood perform a few years ago. My daughter was 11 and she got on-stage for a bit. Very funny. We met them after the show and they were very gracious and posed for pictures with my daughter.
I think it’s fair to say that the earliest legitimate improv was the broadway show “An Evening with Mike Nichols and Elaine May.” I saw it in 1959 or 1960. They were so talented. The audience was at once shocked and hysterical as they shouted out ideas for scenes etc. and we all laughed until it hurt. What fun! 😂
Wow, what a dream to have seen Nichols and May live!
@@RobertLockhartMakesGames Indeed! I was just a kid but I was completely smitten with the improv process, their witt and abundant talent! (So was the entire audience)! I still remember it vividly.
The original Whose Line in the UK was a big part of my formative years, and Ryan and Colin were as big a part of that as they were in the US show. Sad to see the show end but I will never forget the laughs that brought me out of bad times.
This is a lovely interview. It was a real treat to hear from Colin.
I totally agree. After listening to this I stopped for a second and thought "I really enjoyed that!".
I became aware of Colin through the British version of Whose Line in the 90s. I thought then that he was seriously talented and very funny with a uniquely twisted sense of humor. In other words, perfect for a British audence. I continue to be amazed at how well this has translated to the North Amarican audences.
Me too , a talented man
Americans are very darkly humored people, its not that unique. We just don't flaunt it about outside of closer social circles.
Robin Williams and Tracy Ullman were once booked as guests together on the Tonight Show. Whatever had been planned for the show that night is forever lost behind the forces of nature that are their many, many improvised personalities. The most fortunate scheduling mistake in network television history.
Any clips on TH-cam that you know of?

Coming Mocherie is so funny that Robin Williams used one of Collin's Whose Line jokes in one of his own stand ups. The Ryan and Collin duo is one of the best comedy duos ever.
Colin and Ryan definitely played a massive part in shaping my sense of humour.
This is a wonderful interview. The interviewer asked his questions then let Colin speak, which is the way to do it. Thank you for this video!
As someone who is currently doing improv monthly in Tokyo now, Colin was and still is my inspiration!!! Thank you so much!
I love the entire cast, even those who were on infrequently, but Colin is the best. He’s consistently random.
Thank you algorithm, you’ve done something helpful! I’m a working actor now, and I have many wonderful memories of Stratford and the Festival. My mom grew up there, and I spent many summers in Stratford visiting my Gran and seeing shows. Subscribed!
Oh Canada! Thank you for another treasure -- -- Colin is THE BEST!!
Don’t wonder if they have influenced anybody, wonder how many people they have influenced. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Colin and Brad live and have watched every episode of whose line. I use their styles and stick on a daily basis, whether anybody around me picks up on it or not. True legends!!
They’ve definitely influenced me, with my sense of humor and introduction to comedy and improv. Colin and the rest of the cast were my childhood heroes! You know what, scratch that, they’re STILL my heroes!
Colin deserves every ounce of success he gets! What a genius!
Rest in powerful peace my favorite celebrity and homie of all time 🙏

I miss Robin. His talent is timeless. He was strung out on Whose Line but still amazing. Miss the old days
The profound impact Colin and his comedy had on me as a child and young man was immeasurable. I adore this man. My dream is to meet him and say while holding up my phone, “you know someday yheyre going to invent one of these where you just push buttons!” And have Colin just quickly point at me and yell, “you’re crazy!” Hahaha
I remember watching older episodes of Who's Line (Clive era) on Comedy Central when I was in my mid teens. I'm 40 now.
Thank you Colin for decades of laughter, I’ve seen every episode of Whose Line and I’ve seen you live with Brad, no show has ever disappointed.
I remember watching a little show when I lived in the UK as a child.
It's amazing how far they've come. I really miss Mike McShane.
Colin (and Ryan) are my favourite improvisers, and I love Whose Line. But I'm also pretty sure a tv show like that at some point becomes routine. The actors have buttons to push, they know always works. For me, it's ok to change the format and try new things.
You are right. And this became evident when they did the hoedown songs, which Ryan apparently came to really dislike, because I remember him making up a verse about killing himself if he had to do one more hoedown song.
I LOVE Whose Line!! The Drew years were the best, and I hope I can go see a live tour show someday. Everytime I watch an old episode, I try to out-improv them, but I know it will never happen. ;-) The episodes with Robin Williams and Richard Simmons were absolutely the best. Watching Drew lose his composure was always equivalent to seeing an SNL member break. Thanks for all the laughs, guys. You've gotten me through some rough times.
The best was when they all corpsed the Irish drinking song from Colin's meow.
I lived in London 1996 and we all used to watch this show all the time. Clive Anderson was the host, Oasis and The Spice Girls ruled the world, no one had a phone, it was pretty rad.
I grew up on the Drew years. Im 32 now as well. Such fantastic comedians! Ill always go back and watch them and still make quotes from the show to this day
In between Winters and Williams was Conway. Tim Conway would've been a great guest on WLIIA.
Totally agree with you. Tim Conway on the CAROL BURNETT SHOW. HE WOULD OF SLAYED. R I.P TIM
Now I need to go watch the whole Robin Williams episode.
Love, love, LOVE Colin Mochrie!
Yeah it's a good episode except that Mr Williams is clearly looking quite strung out fair warning
This video came out just as I was getting into improv (a couple of months prior to now) and bingewatching every single Hoedowns, every single Scenes From A Hat, every single moments, bloopers and everything Whose Line-related there is online. Really sad to hear he said Whose Line "had its time" because it never had! Thank you Colin and everyone involved in the cast and crew for such a good 30+ years of comedy and television.
Great interview. Thank you Mr. Mochrie for all the laughs
Collin you’re amazing! We love you!!
Glad I stumbled across this. Last thing I saw Colin Mochrie on was a Murdoch Mysteries. :-)
One Hour Photo is a DARK film. I bet Robin Williams really appreciated the cheerup of hanging with you guys

What a phenomenal episode. Thanks and bravo at getting this together
Some of my favorite memories are staying the night at my grandma's house and me, my brother, and my grandma would squeeze into her bed and watch 2 episodes of whose line from 9-10pm. Will forever love the guys who made it, incredible talents
everyone who watches this needs to look at the channels subscriber count. its a crying shame that a production like this doesnt have followers in the hundreds of thousands.
Grew up watching Whose Line with my family, such sweet memories. Really in awe of Colin, his skill and his humility! Gutted that Whose Line is ending! Why can't there be a continuation of it if this cast prefer to step away?
Thanks guys.

Awesome interview! Whose Line is such a great show!
Such a great discussion! Colin and Robin together was a treat and I'm so happy new people are finding his work!
I remember theatre sports in Calgary!!! loved it.
Love you Colin! You made life easier for me! Thanks so much!
Just a grateful WLIIA fan showing some love. Unreal talent and epic sense of humor.
Jonathan Winters, absolutely! Gave birth to Robin, gave birth to Colin and Ryan, etc. Colin is such a beautiful cat!
Carol Burnett and her whole cast on her show were definitely the pioneers of improv. Which included Johnathan Winters.
Search for the interviews. Robin adored Jonathan Winters. He was his idol and he befriended him and learned from him. I think Winters recognized himself in Robin.
Tim Conway was hilarious.
That was a fun interview! Who's Line was one of those shows I always stopped on while I was channel surfing and kept watching all the way through. Always a good laugh!
Absolutely love "Whose Line is it Anyway?". Wish it was offered more online.

This was wonderful! I've been a huge fan since Clive Anderson was the moderator! Mr. Mochrie you are awesome to watch on the show and I've since gotten my family into the show as well. We all love you & Ryan Stiles! You play so well off of each other! My youngest brother & his friends used to play around with improv ....if nothing else it was always entertaining! Lol. My brother is a producer & director now for two shows...among some other projects he works on. 😁❤. May God Bless you & yours!
Tue whole crew was such a wonderful gift to the world.
I definitely got into improv theatre because of watching Who's Line and seeing Robin Williams outtakes. The Genie, Good morning Vietnam etc
Thank you for this great interview🙏🏾
My mom introduced me to whose line is it anyway as a child and growing up now in my 30s I still adore that show U2 has been a huge platform for re-watching classic scenes from the show and it’s still funny till this day and it’s an absolute delight !
In my opinion, Collin was always the funniest, some of his answers and some of his antics. You just think this guy is incredible whose line will definitely be missed.
I was brought up on stage, hypnotized and performed hypnotized improv with Colin. It was among the safest and most comfortable times I've felt being on a stage!
Mr. Mochrie, you sell yourself short, sir. You are, without a doubt, one of the greatest of all time. o7
Congrats to all of you. Ryan styles is one of my favorite comedians and this show just solidified comedy for me as a medium for human beauty. Those that van embrace that aspect so thoroughly is a blessing on us all, enjoy your future days knowing you gave us all something immeasurable.

Colin is an inspiration for me as an amateur comedian. Love him. Love all the Whose Line cast ❤
I never what Whose Line to end. I never miss an episode.
I'd just be happy to get a like from him. It'd like be getting a hug from an old friend that you haven't around in a decade. I can honestly say that him and Ryan have had a massive overall positive role on my life.
That Robin Williams show, everyone brought their A game. Ryan Stiles in particular..
Colin is amazing. One of my favorites on Whose Line
