    Hey friends! Thanks so much for tuning in to today’s upload. How much would you need to save to be one month ahead in bills? Let me know in the comments. 💜✨

    Love this! I just started a month ahead binder. I decided to start with my smallest bill and once I have that one funded I move on to the next one. I didn’t give myself a timeline since I have other sinking funds and challenges. But one by one I will fund them and be one month ahead 😊

    • @ohshebudgets
      @ohshebudgets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes absolutely! It’s hard to focus on everything at once. Setting realistic goals and expectations has helped thus far. I plan on continuing to do the same. Little by little we’ll be there in no time. 💜✨

    i have one month of expenses in my emergency fund, this is a terrific idea to get it built up to 3 to 6 months, i am also retired but i work a job since i retired. That is why i did only initially fund one month. This is a great idea!

    I love your idea of focusing on each envelope first. I've budgeted our car tags 6 months in advance and I felt like I wasn't get anywhere until it came to it being due and the money was there. It's hard to stay focused on a large amount and save little by little until it finally comes. I think that's why I started enjoying those savings charts so I can see on a chart my progress and feel motivated. Thanks for sharing!! Can't wait to see your progress on this!! We were able to save a month's worth only from large bulks of income like tax refunds or previous stimulus checks!

    • @ohshebudgets
      @ohshebudgets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Marking your progress helps a lot! We truly get to see how much a little really does go a long way. Like you said it didn’t seem like much at first, but having that large lump of money when you need it is truly a blessing. Sometimes it’s just a matter of sitting $10 or $20 aside for a little while. I’m going to create myself a tracker to mark my progress on this. Thanks so much for watching ❤️✨

    Sigh....a bit frustrating that my monthly rent for a small studio is more expensive than your mortgage. I'd rather put it towards a mortgage than someone else. Hopefully I get there soon.

    New Subbie. 2022 has been the first year where I do not feel like I am living paycheck to paycheck but I still need to get my month ahead together so that I am in a better position for success. I just printed a month ahead challenge to make it more fun. I need a $1000 in month a head to cover bills and maintenance for the house. Wishing you much success.

    Love how you are doing this! It’s such a good time. I have a buffer instead that I use. I’ve thought about 3-6 month emergency fund but we have so much we need to save for that I don’t think I will be able to do that for another couple of years. Great video ❤

      Same here. I have a small buffer I keep in my account, but once it gets below a certain amount I’m like I need to save more 😂😂 3 months EF for me is 8400 and 6 would be double that. Not saying it’s not doable, but it sure will take some time. In due time though.. ❤️ thanks for watching this upload!

    This confuses me. So are you funding half the month moving forward? I’m trying to figure out how much you’re stuffing after you’ve reached the month ahead goal.

    • @ohshebudgets
      @ohshebudgets  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I pay my bills as I normally would.
      With some of my paycheck and extra income I put a small amount aside to help me reach these goal amounts. If you check out any of my budget with me videos or TH-cam paycheck videos you’ll get a better idea how I am putting a little aside each time, which eventually adds up.
      So far I’ve completed the beauty, miscellaneous, and recently gas. I am working on the eating out envelope now.
      My goal is to have 1 month of expenses by the end of 2023 saved. Once I reach that I’ll move towards other financial goals.
      I hope that makes a little more sense.
