    That was BEAUTIFUL! So like Stanford. I'd never heard this setting before, much to my shame; I know, of course, the familiar setting in D so thank you for this! Was that Mr Barrow singing the solo part in The "Nunc Dimittis"?

      It's a beautiful setting, for sure. Not John Barrow singing the solo, though.

      The bass soloist is Phillip Mindenhall now living in York and an occasional solo violinist around North Yorkshire

      I don’t agree with the likeness to Stanford. The serenity of this setting (both Mag and Nunc) is unlike anything in Stanford. For the most part, Stanford Mags are about the excitement of pregnancy and the power of God. Here we have a picture of a young maiden privately enjoying the sensation of anticipating motherhood. In my opinion of course!
