This is great! It’s unfortunate that either the Finale gurus, or the people at Steinberg, haven’t included such a beautiful explanation. I’m about in the same category as you….long time user and tons of Finale files. So, this is going to, no doubt, save me hours of “conversion” time. Thanks so much, and I will be sharing this with friends.
This video is very helpful! Thank you so much!! I do have a question. When I imported a Finale file into Dorico, there are 2 titles. Is this something that I need to delete individually or is there a way I can have it import only one title? Maybe a setting as I export from Finale? Thanks for any help!
With the titles, it depends on how you had the titles written in finale. In both programs there are project properties for things like title, composer, and so on. I typically find that dorico will duplicate the title because of the default page layout of dorico projects compared to how finale did it. Long story short, I don’t think there is going to be a huge shortcut for this, especially if you had put in a title text block. You can try a test though. Go to finale, delete the title on the score, then import it into dorico. That way dorico will read the title from the score manager in finale and add it to the page by default, and will not have the duplicate text block
Thank you
