Another nice video, Sorin. I just got a used Ebay Toshiba L15W-B1320 which was BIOS password-locked. I tried removing the battery for a day and shorting the JRST0602 pads on the motherboard near the Pentium and BIOS chip but neither worked. Later using a magnifier, I discovered another set of pads nearby marked JRST501. Shorting those for a few seconds did the trick and bypassed the BIOS password.
hi teacher i love watching your videos because it s verry profesional, in this model it s verry simple without removing the bios chip. in this model you can check under the memory slot , you will find a gab JPW or JCMOS jumper for clear cmos. you can short it after run de laptop. the password removed thank you bro i am happy for you
I have C660-1GK and have dismantled it few times by now. Thanks for the informative video! P.S. Yeah, my model's vent is always working even it's idle and been cleaned with fresh paste, so it collects dust extremely fast.
there is a way to remove a bios-password without changing the bios-chip, just by download the bios.BIN and programing with (Mini Pro TL866CS)...with this method you can remove a lot of bios-password laptop models, it's easy, excuse for english it's not my language, good luck professor.
I remember from one of your previous video's that you rewrote the bios software, using control B. Would this procedure not delete the bios software password?
I replaced the bios chip on my HP probook 4530s and it worked for 10minutes then locked me out, it wouldn't even turn on, put the old bios chip back in and it booted to password screen, is there some sort of HP protection in the super io Sorin?
Hi Sorrin, greatings from South Africa, just one question, where is the Bios chip normally situated,i have an idea, i want to start pc motherboard repairs as a hobby i am a retired and have learnt so much from watching your videos, i have managed to fix a Dell laptop i was given and it is now working thanks to your lessons merry christmas to you an d your family.
hi, bios chip is around the startup chip (super io) ATA ITE WIND BOND SMSC , On the new laptops, the bios chip is inside of the super io chip, check my other video, you will figure it out, Thank you, Merry Christmas
No, i replaced the bios chip, but the old bios chip data has been loaded already by that big chip (next to the bios chip and must be reset by removing the battery). In this way, the big chip(startup chip who read the bios chip and start the motherboard) will read the bios chip again
From Cali, Colombia,..thank you so much for the videos,....I learned a lot of things about laptops ,..thanks,....now, maybe you can help me I have 2 lenovo B40 whit the same problem ,...BIOS PASSWORD,....could you teach how reset this Bios,....GOD BLESS YOU
sorin i have an idea , why don't you make a challenge video , in which dianna assemble a laptop that u think is hard to do ." because u said that assembling iphone makes her happy " hhhh
To be onest with you this is unnecessery too. You need to short specific place on the motherboard. I read it on some forum topic and it worked like magic with my laptop (the same like in video)
thanks for your idea bro ! , just to know in newer laptops they are using new technology so you can't just reset your password by shorting 2 pins you must reprogram it using raspberry pi or SOFI sp8-A programmer specially that chips Macronix-Winbond.. it's the UEFI technology now , for any helps i'm here bro @@mirosawjarmuzewski2405
Dude, you're back with science. On my channel you can see how to find the bios password in two minutes free. Without disassemble the computer, valid for any type of fixed or portable computer

That method of clearing under the memory doesn't always work on this model. Hence the video to show replacement of bios chip

Thank you sir I just tried it on Acer laptop with the same problem and it was removed. Thank you for the lesson
You make it look all so easy 😁
There is usually pins on MB shorted to clear password like older model Toshiba had special printer port plug . Not on newer Win7 models?
Sorin you could fix that easily, by owning a chip programmer, not worth replacing the whole bios chip, But good job any ways..

Let me understand, you removed the bios password just removing the battery and creating a short circuit between + and - ???

@@electronicsrepairschool but first you should write the bios firmware to the new EEPROM with some programmer like ch341a right?
@@electronicsrepairschoolbut does that reset the computer? I am wanting to avoid losing memory on it
