Hello. Do you have a link to information about this contest? I'm very bad at research and would like to know more about the band's background. Greetings from Germany
Came for Subways of Your Mind, but stayed because this is a genuinely great EP. It's an absolute travesty these guys were never picked up by a major record label, but that's the way the industry goes sometimes.
It generally means more than a single, but less than an album. There does seem to be more FEX releases out there though. A track titled "Jenny" was found on a compilation album recently.
Better than Subways of your mind, at least for me. If you guys want to hear more of it, the genre's called "new wave", and there's a similar song (and it's so good) called "you can hear it" by "the jetzons". Sonic fans may already be familiar with this band.
The fact that they are actually a good band is really nice. Catchy sound and strong vocals from literally just some guys here in Kiel is just amazing. If they were picked up by some bigger label, their second or third album could have actually become decently successfull here in Europe
also the most versions of it with different lyrics and such (small bands unsure of how their song is supposed to sound yet usuallt did that) because it was most likely the song they were most known for (played the most - causing the tape damage).
Not only did we discover the identity of the song we had been looking for for two decades, but we also got an additional song for free... If only this were the case with other lost media and other works by artists unknown in this world
How did these guys fly under the radar with bangers like this?! Also: imagine getting popular about 40 years after you released your music. Stuff like that is what I like about the internet.
Remember in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, when Rufus said that Wyld Stallyn's music "will help put an end to war and poverty. It will align the planets and bring them into universal harmony, allowing meaningful contact with all forms of life, from extraterrestrial beings to common household pets."
