Three Houses is a very long game that people usually sink hours and hours into - myself included. But how fast could one beat the entire game? Could you do it within 1 hour? I take a look at a Crimson Flower New Game+ speedrun, provide commentary on how the whole run, the route and decision making, works, to try and answer this question.

Alright so since this video is being recommended by TH-cam a lot right now and a lot of people ask this: I got my Renown because I speedran this game so much. Every clear of this game gives like what, 10k? 100k Renown? So once I'd done it a couple times I had more Renown than I'll ever need.
Quick question, was this live commentary or a commentary on gameplay you recorded?

About the Speedrun...Is the Screen Loading Glitch is allowed ? Since it made the loading screen charge faster :/
@@TBeaulan What glitch? Loading cutscenes is not the same as loading the battle map.
@@xAvitaLT I meant the glitch that changes the loading screen (Pixel Byleth) with the Crest of Flame Loading Screen that apprear at the end of the game. This Loading Screen charge faster than the Pixel Byleth Loading Screen

So basically, if a Switch Pro is released with better cpu optimisation, loading times may go down and sub 1 hr might be possible.
It should be possible even now in new game+ somehow.. Many maps can be 1 turned with warp and high mv if you take down the enemy commander.. 🤔

Rhea’s sword in chapter 12 has a nosforatu effect. That’s probably why she didn’t die.

I did like 70 hours 💀
I have under 30 hours on my VW playthrough, and I’m on about chapter 19.
Admittedly I overgrind (I mastered all skills and classes no newgame+ excluding the new dlc classes which weren't out yet and the female exclusives), but It took me around 60 hours.

Probably, but then again, rpgs usually don’t have as much tech and are usually just doing the game but faster, so their speedrunning communities are usually pretty inactive
Them loading screen times have got to go. I really hope they can lower them next update
That or if the community can create a timer that cuts out load times
This is Koei Tecmo. One update slows them down, another can speed them up. It's exactly what happened with Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U.
Smash 4 got progressively longer with each one. Ultimate is faster.

@@Kryptnyt Yeah, when I've turned on 3H, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, and I think sometimes Smash Ultimate, I'll hear the fan going. But if I open up the Home menu and wait a few seconds, it'll stop.

If it's your first fire emblem or you mainly play for story I don't blame you. Otherwise even hard classic is pretty easy. You have to play through it 4 times to see all the different routes and if you have beaten it on normal you should be familiar with the mechanics enough to take on hard for your next route :)
@@MrEvol94 the only thing stopping me from playing hard classic is the fact all battles require a point and the idea of not being able to grind frightens me. I'm fine with normal-classic though

Auxiliary battles are extra exp as it is so even with only one-three points/battles it's plenty :) certain flowers can also be planted while exploring for stat boosters (not needed on hard but it gives an edge). The best are pale-blue flower seeds (+1 speed) and purple flower seeds (+1 strenght) both of these seeds and others as well can be bought at the marketplace.
@@mentalgaming4life535 Currently on a Hard Classic playthrough. Not only is it my first FE game, but also the very first playthrough. And trust me, I'm already finding this boringly easy because my whole squad is overleveled by at least 4 levels. I am not trying to flex, it's just if you want a challenge then maddening difficulty is the optimal option.

fun thing about speed runs, to myself anyway, I hardly consider what happens spoiling the story since the runner skips like 90% of the dialogue.
Not much of a speedrun enthusiast personally, but I'm sure there's plenty of glitches and exploits to take advantage of that haven't been found yet.
Idea for a new companion series to W.A.I.F.U. -- D.E.D.U.E. === Deliberate Effort Decides User Experience. It'd be about any unit where player choice could make them amazing or terrible!

And here I speculated that speed running this game under 2 hours would be impossible, due to loading times alone. I quess they were not as bad as I remember
How many speed runs does it take to rack up almost a million renown? I'm on my 6th or 7th playthrough and only have about half a mil, and that's doing EVERY LAST ONE OF the sidequests.
I think it's less than 10, lol. People always comment on that renown but you get sooo much per run that you get more than you need very quickly.

I've got 2 each for verdant wind, silver snow and crimson flower. On my 4th azure moon. And I don't think my renown was that high when I started the 10th run tbh.

Is there a trick to getting a bunch of renown in a single playthrough that isn't just doing all the quests and auxiliary battles?
@@AkameGaKillfan777 For me personally it's faster to play the game like this twice than to grind up extra renown during the playthrough, lol.
It's amazing to see a Three Houses speedrun. Great job on your run and thank you for all of your FE content. This is my first FE game and I am only on my second playthrough (NG+ Hard Casual Verdant Wind).

I feel like the loading screens shouldn’t count due to them being dependent on hardware; lots of other speed runs have 2 times, one is going real time and the other during in game time.
This is my first watch of a Fire Emblem speed run. I'm already hooked after the first battle. Thanks for the video, man!

Hmm, I know there are some good statboosting items in the DLC chest. Those +2 MOV boots in particular.
Yeah those are pretty good and you get the +10000 renown as well
If you and Mangs ever do another charity stream, you should incorporate this speed run as a competition against each other.

I've never seen anyone with that much renown points, and here I am struggling with what I earn.
I didn’t realize renown was a thing until halfway through my first play through, so I have plenty

Move around the blue squares to target an enemy and they will choose a ranged attack from a safe spot (having one that will kill is another matter entirely XD ) Instead of going in for melee
The way I didn’t realize this was normal until over halfway through 💀
Still really impressive just overall, also rip CF with the like 10 less chapters than the others

Me: If I wanted to get every pairing on CF that I wanted, while sparing as many people as possible and seeing as much dialogue as possible, how long would that take and what New Game+ would it need to be done on?

What's the best way to rack up that much renown quickly? Doesn't that take chaining a lot of NG+ files? I'd been meaning to grind a lot at some point. but capping it out seemed a bit out of reach. Either this took a lot of farming speedruns, or it eventually keeps increasing the NG bonus more then I thought..
I could be wrong, but I think Mekkkah probably just hacked his Switch to max it out.

That's normal. If it's a no new game + run and you keep the enemy phase and cutscenes on, it'll take about an hour if you try to kill every last one if them. Especially on maddening

If you hit + when talking to people like jeralt in explore it skips their chat. I dont know if it is faster or not.

So late question, but would you be able to make a video or guide explaining what skills and class masteries you need to grind for the different routes in three houses? This video got me into wanting to run this game and I was wondering if there was a way to efficiently grind everything needed to get going. If not, would you be able to point me to a more fleshed out ruling than is on speedrun.com? i wasn't sure if the free stat upgrades you get for having the DLC were usable because they seem potent
If you look at the part where I go into the NG+ renown menu in the first monastery you'll basically see everything you need for Byleth, Edelgard and Linhardt. Grinding is basically just a matter of going into an auxiliary battle holding the Knowledge Gem, holding broken weapons of whatever you wanna build. Use an adjutant with the same thing to do 2 at once. I dunno much about speedrun.com rulings but I know kirby has some runs with the DLC items, but I don't think there's any plans of making a separate category with them included.

I'm not denying that this run absolutely requires skill and a lot of game knowledge, using NG+ with the broken stuff that comes with it just isn't that interesting to me. I guess I'm a purist when it comes to speedruns.
It's a separate category. I've seen a few speedruns without NG+
