  • Los Angeles County is here to help you protect your home with the Homeowner Notification Program
When certain documents are recorded on your home, the County’s Registrar-Recorder will automatically mail you a copy of that document. These documents are recorded when there are changes to a property or during a foreclosure. This notification allows you to review the documents and identify any errors or possible fraud and then seek help.
L.A. County now has the Property Owner E-Notification Alert, or E-Notification. It’s your FASTER answer to help you protect your home and fight fraud. E-Notification will go directly to your email address and you still get a copy in the mail. You’ll get the e-notification within two days of the document’s recording. That’s critical time to recognize any problems and to get help right away.
However, you must opt in for e-notification. Sign-up is quick and easy and it just might help you save your home. Sign up today at the LA County Assessor’s website at assessor.lacounty.gov. Look for "Property Owner E-Notification Alert" and follow the instructions.

How about actually make it difficult for fraudsters to add on fake title deed papers and make notary publics more accountable for failing to double check the ID and fingerprint with the actual owner.
