Great ranking Michael !! Great to see "Back To The Egg" up there!! My second fave after "Band On The Run". "Getting Closer" is one of the greatest power pop songs ever released!!
I'll always have a soft spot for Wings Over America. At 16 it was my very first concert and I'll always feel chills when I remember the opening notes of Venus and Mars. As far as Back to the Egg, I believe if he wouldve jettisoned the two medleys and included Goodnight Tonight and it's B side, Daytime Nightime Suffering, the album would have sold better.
Back to the Egg has got to be one of the most overlooked great albums of the late 70s. Getting closer was a masterpiece in hard rock. Old Siam sir was actually use on several early hip-hop records
Add me to the Back to the Egg fan list! That and London Town are top of my list! We need a box set of those please! The 2 greatest sides of Paul/Wings - the mellow and the rocking. Love that 79 Wings lineup.
Boy Jerry! I have never had such a reaction agreeing with me regarding an album as I’ve had with Back to the Egg! Paul once said “I just know, one day I’m going to meat someone who’ll will tell me that Back to the Egg is their favorite album!” Paul knew all along his album was better than it’s sales indicated!❤❤❤

As you say, WOA stands as one of the most satisfying live albums of the classic era, right up there with Frampton. It came at a time when the Stones' Love You Live and Bowie's David Live were rather middling efforts.
I was living in Long Beach, CA when the Hits and History album came out. Paul did a live radio show when the album came out, highlighting the album and his career with the Wings, The show was great and inspiring so I got up during the show and drove to a Tower Records on PCH. I grabbed my copy and I stood in line with 4 other people also buying the album. We laughed and realized that ALL FIVE OF US WERE LISTENING TO THE SAME RADIO SHOW AND WE WERE ALL INSPIRED TO BUY THE ALBUM, RIGHT THEN AND RIGHT THERE! :)

Hey, Michael. Rob from the UK here again. This video has triggered some memories for me. I was a 16 year old kid in Liverpool when the Beatles first landed from outer space. Of course, I was a fan from the start. The first time I heard Paul count in 1,2,3,4 on the first track of the 'Please, Please Me' album, I was hooked. Long story short, I bought every album on its release. Like every other fan, I was devastated when they broke up. Dutifully, I bought their first solo albums. I was very disappointed in Paul's first album, 'McCartney', but I did like 'Ram'. I was more inclined towards the Lennon and Harrison albums. In a sense, that was it as far as my interest in McCartney was concerned. Like many other Beatle 'purists', I was dismissiveof McCartney's output. 'Band on the Run' sparked a great deal of interest, but I never followed it up. Then my only connection with Wings was the singles on the radio. I felt that these were a bit 'poppy' for me. 'Mull of Kintyre' was played constantly on UK radio and I think we were all sick of it. Now...when I'm in my late sixties, I rekindle my interest in my old vinyl and start listening to the Beatles again. McCartney releases an album of his back catalogue, 'Pure McCartney'. I'm interested in sounding it out but opted for the magnificent 'Wingspan' album. This is when I realised how wrong I'd been about Wings for all these years. Then I find that my wife has an old copy of 'Venus and Mars'. My God, what a revelation. I'm still not sure whether I like it better than BOTR. Now, I'm finally hooked on McCartney and Wings. I started to pick up vinyl copies of McCartney and Wings albums and it's like the scales fell from my eyes. What a genius this man is! I think that I'm in general agreement with your choices of Wings albums. 'Wings Over America' is among my favourite live albums. 'Back To The Egg' is vastly underrated IMHO. I sometimes chide myself for ignoring McCartney and Wings for all those years but then again, what a wonderful experience I have had in rediscovering my hero. Bit of a lo g one, sorry. Love your posts. Keep it up. 😊😊
You know Rob, I have a good friend who is a Beatles fan, yet didn’t really buy McCartney’s albums over the years, yet as he aged about ten years ago he too started catching up on Paul’s back catalogue! It’s never too late, and I kinda envy you after all these years, finding his gems for the first time! Oh to rediscover him! Sigh!!!❤❤❤
You did it again Michael. Such an awesome review of the Wings albums. You gave a very solid review of each album, pointing out their strengths and weaknesses. Totally non bias and on point. Great job Michael! Really enjoyed your rankings. Lots of astute observations here (as always). I’ll save the bulk of my comments for whenever we get the chance to discuss these at length, which I look forward to. 👐
Hi Michael. For me, Red Rose has always been at the top of my list I'll need to check the double version out. Coming in next I have Ram. Glad we all have different tastes. By the way, love your shirt. Cheers.
My rankings for the studio albums: 1. Red Rose Speedway 2. Venus And Mars 3. Band On The Run 4. London Town 5. Back To The Egg 6. Wild Life 7. Wings At The Speed Of Sound
I couldn't agree more with you, Michael. I can't quibble about your rankings. One side note, I was so disappointed in London Town when it came out in 1978. After the heady days of '75-'76, London Town seemed like a wet noodle. I guess I wanted Paul to rock out (which he did a year later with Back to the Egg). The passage of time has helped my appreciation of London Town. I don't know if it aged well or I got more mellow with age.
If your like me, maybe a little of both, eh Jim?❤❤❤ But you know, I’m very surprised at so many of the commenters agreeing with us regarding Back to the Egg!👌⚡️
I know that Venus and Mars is the New Orleans album. I think that At the Speed of Sound sound more like New Orleans.Ringos Goodnight Vienna and George's Extra Texture also sound very New Orlleans.Good Video
What a fun video. It's very cool hearing from an actual McCartney fan with a different take on the albums. I've tried to rank the Wings stuff. In fact, when I saw the title of your video I tried to do an impromptu ranking to see how close it came to yours. LOL. It didn't. I'm glad SOMEONE has the balls to call out the medley on Red Rose Speedway. Some of my favorite tracks are on that album but it just fizzles out. And funnily, I listened to Speed of Sound just two days ago at the gym. I loved it when it came out back in 76. But the other day I actually did say to myself how much better it would have been without the others all getting their chance at the lead microphone. Regarding the Wings Over America. Before the album came out, in Daytona Beach where I lived, a local radio station simulcast his concert at the Forum in Los Angeles. I recorded it on my Radio Shack stereo 8-track... Honestly, I thought it was crap. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the way it was being broadcast. The singing was so out of tune and the hooting and hollering between songs just went on and on and on. I was/AM a HUGE Wings fan, in all of the incarnations so when I heard the concert I was terribly disillusioned. The tape survived for decades, it's long lost now and I really regret not taking care of it. ANYWAY, my girlfriend bought me the live album and when I played it I couldn't believe how good it was. I knew nothing about production, post production or any of that. I wore out my first vinyl copy of that album. Of course, many decades later I learned that Paul actually did more than just a little post production, even some of the vocal tracks were redone in studio to make up for the bad vocals that were live. It's STILL a great album. One last point, THANK YOU for putting Venus and Mars up at number 2. It's a highly underrated disc, even by McCartney fans. It's my default favorite. Band On The Run is a masterpiece, of course but I default to Venus And Mars when I want a good listen. Great job as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanx so much for your input Will! I was at the Cow Place and saw that show, and I can guarantee you, they were phenomenal! I’ve done several Radio spots myself, and they ruined the sound compared to what the original show sounded like in the room! Here’s my example! th-cam.com/video/KGfcfq6bbBQ/w-d-xo.html
Cool video Michael! This is probably the closest I've come to agreeing with a Paul and Wings top ten. I was especially glad to see you rate Back to the Egg and London Town higher than many do. I absolutely love both of those albums. And of course Venus and Mars and Band On the Run are the best Wings albums. In fact personally I think I like Venus and Mars a little better. But my favorite McCartney album of all time has always been Ram.
Absolutely awesome job as usual brother!!! I learned alot from this video!!! Please keep them coming (I sent you a THANKS for all you do for the TRIBE)!!! Please let me know you got it!!!

Venus and mars is my favorite one. It has a lot of creative songwriting and songs that are fun do dance to. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of listening to it. Rock Show really rocks, Letting Go has amazing vocals, and all the songs are just so fun to listen to. My favorite is Magneto and Titanium Man.
McCartney is the master chameleon with his vocals. This guy can sound like 50 different singers. Definitely the most talented Beatle and all four Beatles were exceptionally talented.
Exactly as I would have ranked them. Except I don’t normally include live albums in an artist’s or band’s discography. Great overview, Michael! PS- As great as Paul’s memory might be, I wonder what gems were never recalled from the stolen demos.
I remember when “Band on the run” album was released that a friend of a friend was a sound engineer on this album and him saying at the time that the best demo songs never made the final album . I don’t know which songs they were but there are extra tracks on a later released remastered version of the album and maybe these are the songs he was referring to .
Morning my friend! You know I love Sir Paul. I was in high school when Wings were jamming. I loved the band. Take care! Wish I was in California again. 😁🦚✌️
Hey Sue! Did you notice the donation at the top of the comments? See what you started? Again your donation really sent a message, and I just wanted to say thank you again!❤❤❤ California is beautiful! I'd put Wings over America #3. since it was the first Wings album i owned & one of the top live albums of all time. You're right about Maybe I'm Amazed just absolutely so much better than the studio version. Paul's voice at the peak of his career and that guitar solo from young Jimmy McCulloch just killer.
Hey Michael! A few years back I delved deeply into the 1970-79 music by Sir Paul. I'm pretty sure I like One More Kiss more than you do but if you think it's a little on the cheesy side I'll go with that. I'm totally with you on the list. I was very curious where Back to the Egg, which i really dig, would come in. No problem with London Town inching ahead of it. I'm Carrying may be the most underrated song he ever made. Great work sir, the TRIBE appreciates you!!
You know Edward, my brother Gary agrees with you on Only One More Kiss, so what do I know? I just calls them as I sees them!❤❤❤ I agree regarding I’m Carrying btw!😉👌
London Town was my first LP and Back to the Egg my second. Shout out to you Michael for placing them so high. And thinking of it: I think you got it right!
Wild Life is like LZeP 3 , they both are always on the borderline of like or '''don't like as much'' or ''the fav of all' in the big realm of fans who are very critical and in my weird world of interest of what is strange , I like luv Wild Life for being a pull back from the high tech and back to the simple production from a man who was responsible for the most complex changes in popular music ever while he was in his prime ..../ Your top two were in my lp collection many years ago and you have it all right Michael /*
Thanx NICE DAWG! Not one of the albums I mention here are clunkers IMO! But when you rank things something always rises to the top! I love Wildlife, and still listen to it often!❤❤❤
I'd pretty much agree with your ranking but I have to say I love One More Kiss. Back to the Egg had some cool rockers especially Old Siam, Sir. I like side one of Red Rose Speedway but side two Paul loses me a bit. Wings at the Speed of Sound is one of the weaker links in the chain of Wings albums but boy it had two great singles. While Cook of the House should have not been on the album, I still like it and it would have made a cool b-side. I just felt that after Band On The Run and Venus and Mars, the Wings album had a business as usual and that Paul was capable of better work. When Wings broke up and the aftermath of Lennon's tragic death came Tug of War one of Paul's best solo albums. The Wings albums were fun and I enjoyed them all to various degrees.
I love seeing these lists. It's fascinating to see what other fans think! My list is as follows (no live album): 1. London Town (I love everything about this album) 2. Back To The Egg (Ditto) 3. Venus And Mars (Ditto and i LOVE the over compressed production as it reminds me so much of 1975. 4. Red Rose Speedway (Except for "Loup", I LOVE this album all the way through!) 5. Band On The Run (Overrated album. Why? Because the first three songs on side two drag it down. Capitol was smart to add "Helen Wheels". "1985" is a tour de force!) 6. Wild Life (Good little chunky album!) 7. Wings At The Speed Of Sound (To understand why this is last, just listen to your own commentary on it. You nailed it!) I have to mention that i love everything about "Girls School" but, along with it's phenomenal "A" side, "Mull Of Kintyre", it WAS released in the USA. Problem is, the silly disco / KISS / punk obsessed American listeners of 1977 had no clue (nor cared) what a "mull" nor a "kintyre" was, plus, the song is a waltz which prompted them all to say "Duuuuuuuh.......what's dat?!". US radio stations decided to flip the single and plug "Girls School" and it reached #33. It's my all time favorite McCartney single and most certainly deserved a much better fate. Also, the video for "Mull Of Kintyre" is my all time favorite of any promotional film, ever. And......."Sally G" has NOTHING to do with "London Town"! I'm loving your videos! Keep 'em coming!
Been binging on Wings and solo McCartney for the last few months so this is awesome. Back to the Egg is in my top 3 so thank you for not crapping on it lol. Should have sold a lot better than it did at the time. Still not a huge fan of London Town but I'm Carrying is as good as anything Paul ever did with the Beatles on acoustic guitars.
Back to the Eggs is not only one of my favorite McCartney albums, but one of my favorite Rock albums as well bone ck! Vastly underrated! Have you ever seen the TV special he did for the album? It;s on TH-cam!❤❤❤
Based on the huge positive feedback for Back to the Egg (and London Town too) I think someone should get to Paul and push him to release Archive Sets of these! Long overdue! He seems to look down on these a bit, but not the fans!
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Plus it really has a wide variety of musical styles that showcase Macca's versatility as a songwriter, singer & musician. Produced by Chris Thomas too! Great video Michael! really enjoyed watching!
The Doors and most of the San Francisco bands did pretty well with democracy. Of course, the Doors had Krieger's songwriting as well as Morrison's, with all the instrumentalists contributing a lot to the melodies. And Jefferson Airplane/Starship Journey , and the Grateful Dead had a pretty even split of talent.
Great ranking, IMO where RAM seems to be Overappraised, Back To The Egg is underappreciated & Overlooked, -From my point of listening the problem with Back To The Egg is the sequencing and also Paul should have included the singles like Daytime Nightime Suffering and Goodnight Tonight to have been part of the album.
My favorite Wings album is Lazy Dynamite. Oh, perhaps I should explain that I cheated a bit. Lazy Dynamite is my personal double album compilation of Red Rose Speedway studio material. I agree with your lowest picks, but I would put Venus and Mars lower too because some of it sounds a bit dated. Having said that, Call Me Back Again, Listen to What the Man Said and Treat Her Gently/Lonely Old People is a great three track finale to the album. Take off the Venus and Mars Reprise, Spirits of Ancient Egypt and that awful “green metal suit” part of Rock Show and add My Carnival and you have a superb album.
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Yeah, Plastic Ono Band is surely in the running on my list too. Embarrassed to admit I don't know All Things Must Pass very well. Gotta check that one out.
I don’t think Band on the run was recorded in Laos I think it was Lagos in Nigeria. Very interesting video but I would put Back to the egg lower and At the speed of sound as my number 3. Great band and one of my absolute favourites.
Great video, I thought I would share how I would rank Wings albums. Unlike you I am not going to include the compilation albums or the live album, but I am going to rank 9 albums: 9, Holly Days (basically a Paul McCartney/Wings album/project credited to the albums lead singer Denny Laine) 8, Wild Life 7, Wings At The Speed Of Sound 6, Red Rose Speedway 5, London Town 4, McGear- Mike "McGear" McCartney (backed by Paul, Linda, Denny L and Jimmy on every track, Denny S. on one track. Paul produced and co- wrote most of the songs on the album) 3, Venus And Mars 2, Back To The Egg (like McCartney and Ram, an album that was canned by the critics when released, but receives lots of love from the modern day critics) 1, Band On The Run
Oh I so wish I had included Holly Days on the list Matthew! Good Call! McCartney played most of the instrument on that album! Wonderful, I love it!❤❤❤ And you are so right regarding BTTE!😉👌
Flaming Pie is one of McCartney’s very best releases IMO Adam! Yeah, Band on the Run will be listened to right along with The Beatles very best for many years to come!❤❤❤
Love back to the egg! I'm somewhat different than most, I'd put London town and red rose at the bottom, and wild life and speed of sound behind band on run at 1, then egg and Venus at 4 and 5. Don't usually think much of live albums, but over America is great, if I had to rank it I'd probably slide it in at 5 spot.
Sally G was the B-side to Junior's Farm. Mull of Kintyre was released in the US as the B-side to Girl's School. Other than that nit-pick I generally agree with your perspective here.
And it is a major favorite for a lot of McCartney fans Werwolves! Have you heard the double album version? Marvelous! That version would have raise it to at least number three on my list, but I was covering each album as it came out!❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine I didn't even know about it until I watched your video this morning. I will definitely be looking in up on Amazon later. Thanks for the heads up, Bro.
Let me begin by stating that George Harrison once said that “I’m Carrying” was his favorite Paul solo song. As i said somewhere else before, if you want to put Wings as band in the Rockhall, don’t you think Traveling Wilburys should be in there too?? i always considered them a band just as well as Wings. Sure they only had 2 albums (why they called the thier 2nd album “Volume 3” is anyone’s guess🤷 i think it had something to do with thier reaction to Roy Orbison’s untimely death but that’s just my guess) But still they acted and sounded like a real band that could’ve went on for years if weren’t for the tragic early loss of one of thier members… i strongly believed if Roy would’ve lived they would’ve had at least a 5 album discography. They would’ve had as much hits as Wings.
Thanks. I didn't know Wings had so many albums. Do you know why they split up? Is it just me, or am I the only one that thought Ringo sang medicine jar? I found out it wasn't just 3 months ago😮
The band kept losing members, and Paul just got tired of having to start over and over again Clyde! That and a very uptight set of dates in England, took the steam out of his excitement for the band brother!❤❤❤ Medicine Jar DOES sound a little Ringo-ish to me as well!❤❤❤
I'll listen to Wings over Beatles material and not a Wings aficionado by any stretch but do have 'Wings over the Speed of Sound', 'Band on the Run', 'Venus and Mars' and 'Wings Greatest' and overall much prefer McCartney over Lennon material. John Bonham played drums on the track "Beware My Love." But of course McCarney's one of those who charges outrageous concert ticket prices which I would NEVER pay. Pfftt. I don't give a sh.t who it is or how famous they are..
As a fan of big bands all the live albums were 'live'. No post production due to 1) prohibitive costs and 2) superior musicianship. Maybe the last point is controversial but i hardly ever heard mistakes when attending big band concerts but plenty within the live rock music arena. Hence i never buy live rock albums as they were inevitably 'tinkered' with so not authentic.
I was at that concert Barrie, and they sounded fabulous! And the post-production on this album was no where near as post-produced as Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same, so I think it’s a relatively honest album overall! But I hear your criticisms here, because so often, your absolutely right! Thanx for your input brother!❤❤❤
Great thinking about someone who's not really big MACCA / Wings fan . But man , you're 💯 Percent right on Back to the egg. I love it. Stop mixing punk and disco . It's how Paul feel that moment. If we go like that you'll have to savage brilliant McCartney 2 . And put down overrated Flowers . Why ? Because Costello isn't Lennon nor someone way too important. Few albums yes , the rest is garbage. Same goes to Abracadabra Miller...
Thanks!

I like London Town as my favorite. Nonetheless, great job brother. Love your channel and look forward to all new videos. Keep up the great work! 🙂🤘
You know Eferem, my brother and I sat down and listened to that album 2 times in a row when we first bought that album!
In one sitting!❤❤❤
What a fun and fine assessment, Michael! I'm looking forward to your 1-on-1! --re: Back To The Egg. "Rockestra"! PS Dig the new intro/outro, nice!
Thanx so much J! You’re the first to mention the new intro!❤❤❤😉
Another great video. I bought a Wings album before ever buying a Beatles album. I was born the year Sgt Pepper was released. That explains the timing.
Sally G was actually the B-side of juniors farm
Great job Michael! Really enjoyed your rankings. Lots of astute observations here (as always). I’ll save the bulk of my comments for whenever we get the chance to discuss these at length, which I look forward to. 👐
I’m Looking forward to it brother!
I hope ya caught my comment on your Creed video!❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine That is a live video that I WOULD NOT MISS!!!! Get together with him and make this happen!!!
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Sure did. Left a response (as well as additional livestream idea) there.
Hi Michael. For me, Red Rose has always been at the top of my list I'll need to check the double version out. Coming in next I have Ram. Glad we all have different tastes. By the way, love your shirt. Cheers.
It was the closest thing to a Wings shirt I have Paul! I also love the 8 on the arm! ie. 8 studio albums!😉👌❤
My rankings for the studio albums:
1. Red Rose Speedway
2. Venus And Mars
3. Band On The Run
4. London Town
5. Back To The Egg
6. Wild Life
If your like me, maybe a little of both, eh Jim?❤❤❤
But you know, I’m very surprised at so many of the commenters agreeing with us regarding Back to the Egg!👌⚡️

@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine THANK YOU!!!!!
Love Joe English's 'Must Do Something' Thanks, love Paul!
McCartney is the master chameleon with his vocals. This guy can sound like 50 different singers. Definitely the most talented Beatle and all four Beatles were exceptionally talented.
Oh you are so right, Joseph!
He is the Swiss Army knife of Rock & Roll IMO!❤❤❤
Pretty much agree with your ranking with a few inversions. Great to see some love for London Town. Martin.
Exactly as I would have ranked them. Except I don’t normally include live albums in an artist’s or band’s discography. Great overview, Michael!
PS- As great as Paul’s memory might be, I wonder what gems were never recalled from the stolen demos.
Yhanx DC, yeah like the little ditties that weren’t at the front of his brain! You’re so right!❤❤❤
Another interesting and entertaining rundown, thanks.
Thanx Pans!❤❤❤
I remember when “Band on the run” album was released that a friend of a friend was a sound engineer on this album and him saying at the time that the best demo songs never made the final album .
I don’t know which songs they were but there are extra tracks on a later released remastered version of the album and maybe these are the songs he was referring to .
I think your right Christopher! Plus here in America we got a bonus cut as well!❤❤❤
1/ Wings Over America- one of my favourite ever albums.
2/ Band on the Run
3/Venus and Mars
4/ London Town

Girl’s School was the A side, Mull of Kintyre was the B side … I know because I’m looking at my single purchased in late 1977
I wouldn’t argue with your choice David! Great comment here!❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine These rankings are all subjective.
1. Band on the Run
2. Red Rose Speedway double album
3. Back to the Egg
4. Venus and Mars
5. At the Speed of Sound
6. London Town
7. Wild Life
Hey Michael!
I just calls them as I sees them!❤❤❤
I agree regarding I’m Carrying btw!😉👌
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Good on you, and brother Gary as well!!
London Town was my first LP and Back to the Egg my second. Shout out to you Michael for placing them so high. And thinking of it: I think you got it right!
Thanx so much Carl!
I’m amazed at the positive reaction to Back to the Egg! And London Town is catching up!❤❤❤
Great video. I couldn't agree more with your rankings 👍
Thanx MIB!
Good to hear from you as always!❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine They all are Paul albums,, so none are clunkers at all bro.. *****
It has been a rumor that the song “drip drop” on Wings Wild Life was made up on the spot
My list is as follows (no live album):
1. London Town (I love everything about this album)
2. Back To The Egg (Ditto)
3. Venus And Mars (Ditto and i LOVE the over compressed production as it reminds me so much of 1975.
4. Red Rose Speedway (Except for "Loup", I LOVE this album all the way through!)
5. Band On The Run (Overrated album. Why? Because the first three songs on side two drag it down. Capitol was smart to add "Helen Wheels". "1985" is a tour de force!)
6. Wild Life (Good little chunky album!)
7. Wings At The Speed Of Sound (To understand why this is last, just listen to your own commentary on it. You nailed it!)
I have to mention that i love everything about "Girls School" but, along with it's phenomenal "A" side, "Mull Of Kintyre", it WAS released in the USA.
Great video Michael!
I have #10 compilation in my collection. This video will be helpful for me to look into the records. I was a kid in the 70s.
Wow! Thanx so much Catherine! I hope I helped a bit!❤❤❤👌
McCartney also plays all the amazing memorable Synths on "Band On The Run!"
Great point!
When I was editing the video, I wish I had said that Erich!❤❤❤
Been binging on Wings and solo McCartney for the last few months so this is awesome. Back to the Egg is in my top 3 so thank you for not crapping on it lol. Should have sold a lot better than it did at the time. Still not a huge fan of London Town but I'm Carrying is as good as anything Paul ever did with the Beatles on acoustic guitars.
I’ve had enough is a great track from London Town
Back to the Eggs is not only one of my favorite McCartney albums, but one of my favorite Rock albums as well bone ck! Vastly underrated!
Have you ever seen the TV special he did for the album? It;s on TH-cam!❤❤❤
Interesting ranking. Your top two would be mine with Wings Over America at a strong third maybe even pushing into the second spot.
Based on the huge positive feedback for Back to the Egg (and London Town too) I think someone should get to Paul and push him to release Archive Sets of these! Long overdue! He seems to look down on these a bit, but not the fans!
I'm a casual McCartney fan, I do have the wingspan LP. That album is a great sounding and love to listen it.
And it like a See’s Sampler box David!
You get a little of this and a little of that, and of course keep coming back!❤❤❤
i like pure mccartney album. i agree with your list. wings over America is nice i got it. denny laine sings go now denny was the original moody blue.
I Liked Go Now the second it came out Chris! And Richard Corey ain’t bad neither! Anyone up for Spirits of Ancient Egypt???
"Back To The Egg" ROCKS!
You’ve got great taste Erich!❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Plus it really has a wide variety of musical styles that showcase Macca's versatility as a songwriter, singer & musician. Produced by Chris Thomas too! Great video Michael! really enjoyed watching!
Great video Michael
I love the song Wild Life! One of my favorites.
Oh me too Darin!❤❤❤
time to learn something new. Thanks, Michael.
Democracy in a rock band leads to CCR"s Mardi Gras.
LOL & Right-Freakin-On Kardboard!
That is a perfect example of letting the real talent run the show!❤❤❤
Spot-on here!!!
Ooh yeah My Carnival & walking through New Orleans is a dream of mine!
I know it’s silly Reactive, but a guys can dream can’t he?😉🤡🎉❤❤❤
Good list. Definitely agree with you on the top 2. In fact, in my opinion I'd even rank Band on the Run as perhaps the best Beatles solo album.
It’s as good as All Things Must Pass and my favorite Lennon album The Pastic Ono Band IMO Cary!
Man that band was rich with talent! ❤❤❤
Yes, you are right Tony I got tongue tied brother! Not the first time, and probably not the last!❤❤❤
Band on the Run is almost a Beatles album. John Let Me Roll it. George No Words. Ringo. Drink to Me
Great video, I thought I would share how I would rank Wings albums. Unlike you I am not going to include the compilation albums or the live album, but I am going to rank 9 albums:
9, Holly Days (basically a Paul McCartney/Wings album/project credited to the albums lead singer Denny Laine)
8, Wild Life
7, Wings At The Speed Of Sound
6, Red Rose Speedway
5, London Town
4, McGear- Mike "McGear" McCartney (backed by Paul, Linda, Denny L and Jimmy on every track, Denny S. on one track. Paul produced and co- wrote most of the songs on the album)
3, Venus And Mars
2, Back To The Egg (like McCartney and Ram, an album that was canned by the critics when released, but receives lots of love from the modern day critics)
1, Band On The Run
Oh I so wish I had included Holly Days on the list Matthew! Good Call!
McCartney played most of the instrument on that album! Wonderful, I love it!❤❤❤
And you are so right regarding BTTE!😉👌
I love BTTE!
I do want to check out flaming pie, the way and spirit put into it interests me. Macca's brilliant. Band on the Run is like, 70's iconic.
Flaming Pie is one of McCartney’s very best releases IMO Adam!
Yeah, Band on the Run will be listened to right along with The Beatles very best for many years to come!❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Thank you.
Band on the Run was the first time I heard Macca, it was everywhere @74...
I tend corrected Rabbit!

I couldn’t understand why Wings Greatest did not include “listen to what the man said,” I mean it went to number one and it’s not on the album
Next to All Things Must Pass I think Red Rose Speedway is my favorite album by a former Beatle.
Oh I definitely agree the Traveling Wilburys needs to be inducted!!!❤❤❤
Thanks. I didn't know Wings had so many albums. Do you know why they split up?
Is it just me, or am I the only one that thought Ringo sang medicine jar? I found out it wasn't just 3 months ago😮
Paul's drug bust in Japan at start of Wings tour there screwed things up...
... I think guitarist Jimmy McCulloch sung Medicine Jar ... which, live, just rocked ...
@@calummcgregor3662 yes, you're correct. I had forgotten his name
The band kept losing members, and Paul just got tired of having to start over and over again Clyde!
That and a very uptight set of dates in England, took the steam out of his excitement for the band brother!❤❤❤
Medicine Jar DOES sound a little Ringo-ish to me as well!❤❤❤
Paul McCartney’s Ram album should’ve been included
No Denny Laine
I think you're right after all.... See Wings Greatest 1978...
Two songs from Ram / Ram sessions. Uncle Albert and Another Day
Wingspan also had plenty of McCartney "solo".
Wings greatest had a great poster that ads a little-👍
And put your thumbs together like on the Wings Hits & history album, and you could salute the band James!
Brilliant marketing!❤❤❤
I have hits and history. Its an extensive 2 CD set
Yes it is Clyde! And the perfect album for someone who wants an overall great sampling of his music! Wonderful!❤❤❤
Off the ground and chaos &creation in the backyard shouldn’t be such red haired step children
Yeah, they do tend to irritate some McCartney fans!❤❤❤
Thanx James!
I thought Chaos And Creation was actually pretty good. No Tug of War but not bad either. Much better than Off the Ground.
