This is one of the best custom builds because he made everything so that it suits his needs and it makes his life better. Good to see he is out living in spite of his injuries because many people would have given up. Wish he had a TH-cam channel to follow along with.

I met Ben in the Organ Mountains while camped out overlooking Las Cruces New Mexico in December 2022. SUPER nice guy. Gave my wife and I a personal tour of his rig. What an amazing brain this man has. I can attest to those front seats he has are THEE most comfortable seats you'll ever sit in. He loves his apples...lol. We went our separate ways but hooked back up again at Schooliepalooza in February. Unfortunately I was having health issues and could not stay. But before we left I did get some pictures with him and still stay in touch. He truly is an inspiration.
I met Ben with other Pacific Crest Trail hikers at mono lake, such a nice guy, was a pleasure to spend the evening with him his dog and a family living on a bus! Absolutely loved his van!
Ben you are just awesome. I love your, can do attitude. I am currently going through breast cancer treatment, and need people like Ben to remind me, no matter what the challenge I can work through it and live well. I have recently moved into a new home, and have to landscape this by myself as a 62 year old women. People like Ben remind I am strong and I will achieve my goals, even if it take longer. Thankyou for yet another inspiring video with just awesome independent people. It now time to go shovel road base and sand. ❤
That is a brilliant van build, even for someone who doesn't have mobility issues. He is amazing and definitely has strength of character to go for what he wants despite his big life change.
He knew what he wanted and made it happen. That takes fortitude. And his adorable dog rescued from Mexico is just too cute. I hope your happy days totally outweigh any sad ones.
Wow, Ben has such a great attitude and personality. He could have gone a whole other avenue, but decided to work with the situation he was dealt. I admire him very much. I love his set up and build. Good luck Ben in all you do. Thanks for letting us peak into your life.
I'm so impressed with his drive and initiative to take on such a daunting rebuild and lifestyle despite having a serious disability. About 8 years ago, my T7 was shattered and I was told I would have been paralyzed had I moved forward another 1/4 inch. I have lived in serious chronic pain ever since, so I was so happy to see him able to move around so nimbly with having problems in the similar area of my back. Great video on stealth living the high tech way!
This is awesome! You've created so much space and have included all the conveniences of home. I really like the ceiling. The interior design is so cool! Your philosophy and take on life is spot on and ever so inspirational! I'm glad you and your dog have each other to enjoy. Happy trails, and thanks for the tour! 💗
I think this video and man will open the eyes of many who didn’t think this was possible for them. This is a life changing video. Thank you for this!!! I thought because I am overweight and older I can’t do van life. This guy has it so much harder and he is. Wow
This is amazing. I am unable to walk anymore due to an accident at work. I always dreamed of rv living but didn’t think it was possible. This gives me hope
The ability to be able to disconnect and just go anywhere your heart longs to, this is one of the best examples of making the best out of a terrible experience ♥
Love the drop down bed I think I have only seen three builds before with a similar style of bed but that this one is also adjustable is on another level (unintended pun there, sorry). Great use of space and it looks so roomy and streamlined. Excellent job on this build and best wishes for wherever Ben's truck takes him (or he takes it) and with this home that means pretty much anywhere he wants to go! 👍 Very cute dog too!🐈⬛ Condolences to Ben on the loss of his beautiful Millie.
Definitely a must for me. Mini fridge for my drinks and water at night. Plus a good spot to store my snacking olives, pickles, pickled peppers and hot sticks.
I love this guy’s vibe. Also, I’ve been planning out my own stepvan conversion, and with there not being many quality videos out there for stepvans, this one was great to see for inspiration! ❤
Now in my late 70's been disabled since 5(polio). Great to see another person with the "lets go" attitude. I have always had the attitude of "if you can't change or fix it" do what you can, with want you have. No real complaints, just little moans now and then. Live life the best you can. Have fun travels.
As a person with disabilities, this video was very encouraging. Thank you! I am very blessed to be able to live with my parents who help me a lot. I enjoy watching tiny house videos because they give me ideas on how to make the most of my space within the family home. Just a thought in regards to a refrigerator next to the bed: I highly recommend it, even if you just have a small one or a plug in cooler. I have a dorm refrigerator next to my bed and it has been a huge help, especially when I’m having a difficult day. Thank you for sharing this great video!!! I enjoyed it a lot!!!
You are so inspirational! And I absolutely love the addition of the air purifier! I have never seen one in any of these countless number of videos I’ve watched on TH-cam. All the best.
I absolutely love your build but most of all I love your determination to not let your disability get you down and you keep doing what you love I totally understand that drive and determination more than you know many beautiful safe journey Much Love Butterfly
I know I’ve said it (after almost every one of your productions) but I think this IS my favorite! I have such a desire to wander, and my amazing husband probably would too if he wasn’t forearm crutch dependent. It took me a long time to convince him to try a mobility scooter, and he was so angry when I secretly bought one off of Craig’s List for $350.00 lol. So I said hey, let’s go to Traders Village, no one will know you there, and you can try it out. TV is a HUGE flea market in between Dallas and Fort Worth, in Grand Prairie TX, and one could spend an entire weekend looking around, eating, and taking in events like Pow Wow’s and Rodeo’s, music, etc. Anyway… once we got him on the scooter, I could see his attitude change between the parking lot and entry gate. He went from “I’m not a little old man beeping at everyone on my rascal, to OH, I didn’t realize the turning radius on this was so smooth” in just a few minutes. We had a wonderful day, and even looked at all the items way out back where there are no covered stalls, and people just put their wares on tarps on the ground. His whole world opened up. So now I want a vehicle that he can ride his scooter in and out of, as I would REALLY like for him to get a lite weight or sports wheel chair, and something like the Omeo. Thank you Ben for sharing your amazing Perspectivan, I can’t wait to show him how, with his own ingenuity, we could build something that works for us. Give your pup some skritches and treats for us! -Valerie
Terrific vision on how to create a functional, accessible van. I think as people age in place, there is such a need for more of this sort of design. Kudos for pushing all of us to keep moving forward.
Ben has a wonderful attitude. I can't imagine how he's done what he has, but I'm sure his "can do" attitude helped him achieve this creation. Love his build! God bless him and his new dog!❤❤
Ben is an inspiration! What an awesome rig! Ben's story is very similar to mine involving an accident. I crushed my tailbone as a child and am now losing feeling to my lower extremities as an adult. I intend to build something similar in the very near future and have gotten many great ideas from this video! Thank you for sharing Ben's story!
Thank you Ben for sharing! Christmas 2023 I bought me my solar, camping stove, lounge chairs, build me a portable toilet, etc., and down sized in my apt. and said I am going to do van life, even joined youtube and gave myself a name, BUT fear stopped me...its February 2024 and I am still procrastinating...Seeing you so successful camper has made a world of difference for me I will get up off my couch and "get busy enjoying life" in the outdoors doing me in van life. i met him at skooliepalooza in Feb! haha love this!
I am in awe of his attitude and determination and his van and the life he created is a perfect reflection of it
