    This is a short video on how to record Two Microphones using just One Input jack.
    This method uses a certain Stereo Microphone Splitter cable letting you use two mics at the same time.
    The recorded stereo file can be split into a dual mono file in Premiere Pro. I'll show you how to do this too.

      Edward Santoro Hey Edward, Most smartphones only record in mono via the headphone jack unless your smartphone has a seperate mic input

      Actually, it seems that with mono recorders you do get left and right. But in case you don't (also showed in your video - perhaps with stereo recorders), it should be easy enough to work on Audacity and remove the silent channel and have audio coming out of both left/right? Also, I'm thinking of buying the Sony IDC-PX370 with the JK Mic-J 044 lav mic plus this breakout cable to record two people at once. Do you think this setup would work? Sorry I'm new to audio!

    • @RavKan
      @RavKan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thay na Inglaterra Yes that mono recorder will have limitations to use the Stereo Breakout cable with. Audacity with a lav mic will still record a mono signal in on both channels. The only thing you can do with your recorder is to use a standard y-splitter cable then plug two mics into it. Remember both the lav audio will be on 1 mono audio file

      @@RavKan So if I want to have 2 files and edit them separately, I would need a stereo recorder to use with the cable you reviewed? If so, is it better to get a stereo recorder and just change it to mono in audacity while still being able to have different files for each lav mic used?

    Hi sir. I was wonder if you can help me out.
    I want to use Saramonic Blink 500 that has 2 wireless mic and 1 Reciever, and 1 shotgun mic.
    I've notice that there split cable adaptor that could recieved two 3,5 jack into one input.
    If i plug the Saramonic Blink 500 reciever into one hole, and shotgun mic into another hole. Could i use the 2 wireless saramonic and the shotgun mic work together?

    • @RavKan
      @RavKan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, I personally wouldn't on a small recorder like this. You might overload and fry the pre-amps which will leave the H1 useless. You'd be 'safer' using a recorder like the H4n. I've used that to connect wireless systems and condenser mics together.

    Maybe you can help me. I've tried this method going into the headphone jack of my MacBook Air (which functions as an input for external mics too). I use 2 lav mics that each have a TRRS jack. In order to get a signal I also needed a TRRS (female) to TRS (male) adapter between each mic and the splitter and a TRS (female) to TRRS (male) adapter between splitter and MacBook. However, I'm only getting a signal through the black side of the splitter which then goes to both sides of a stereo track, while no signal at all comes through the red side of the splitter. What could be the issue? Thanks!

    • @RavKan
      @RavKan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Does each Mic work separately without the TRS and TRRS adapters?
      Also check the splitter separately too.
      Maybe the items are faulty

    • @FlamingClips
      @FlamingClips ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RavKan Yes I checked every component. But it looks like I got the answer. Apparently the MacBook Air's headphone/mic in jack can't record stereo. It's stereo out but only mono in (according to ChatGPT).
      Thanks for the quick response!
