    Wow Masaru's respect levels are crazy. "Oversea viewers cant handle seeing a lobster killed, I imagine it's like japanese people seeing a cat ended"
    I'm overseas and I dont mind it aslong as they dont like genuinely suffer usually. But never thought a mainly japanese channel would take such consideration outside its main audience. Masaru really is a wholesome gem.

      Its a nice way of saying that youtube will fuck him over for showing that "GASP" meat and fish has to be killed (who knew) during the cooking process.
      TH-cam considers this too much for any human to handle, and surely almost no humans in history ever had to kill an animal.

    Maybe it's bland due to it's size, because the bigger the lobster, it became less flavourful. This happened because the meat get denser as the lobster grow bigger and older. The myosin fiber of older lobster are denser and metabolize ATP in larger amount. ATP derived from the muscle sugar, this sugar makes the lobster meat sweet and umami.
    Based on my experience, the best taste for lobster is around 15-20 cm (5-8 inches).
    Too bad Masaru-san did not make the lobster shell as decoration. It looks so majestic.
    ロブスターが大きいほど風味が悪くなるので、大きさの関係で味気ないかもしれません。 これは、ロブスターが大きくなり、年をとるにつれて肉が厚くなるために起こりました。 古いアカザエビのミオシン繊維は密度が高く、大量のATPを代謝します。 赤エビの肉を甘くて美味しくする骨格筋糖由来のATP。

      Yeah i honestly dislike seeing this. In my opinion, if Humans eat Fish, Pig, chicken and beef thats already far more than what we actually need. But eating Lobsters is just "because we can, why not" and i dislike this way of thinking.
      With this logic its not bad to eat dogs and cats as well, i mean why not?
      And this man at least skips the bad parts

    As an overseas viewer that wants to see the lobster being killed (as it is natural in this process) i would suggest you use a timestamp for when the gruesome part is done, keep up the good work

    I know i don't speak for all Americans but they need to suck it up I love your channel and how raw it is. You and kaneko are the main people I watch on TH-cam. Dispatching is part of cooking people need to understand that.

      I am so grateful that you (someone who I imagine would know what I was searching for when I asked, "can anyone recommend a channel that I would also enjoy?) mentioned another channel that I can look into.
      I have caught up on all of the videos that are English-captioned (to-date)...as well as a few that I desperately turned on auto-generated-English captions to watch, so now I have to wait for new videos along with everyone else.
      So, don't worry - you're not diverting my views away from him.

    Masaru, Great video and preparation of the lobster 🦞. Perhaps if you get another chance to eat one of that size, either making Tempura or grilling the tail in the shell, would be the way to go. I think that all species of lobster taste best when cooked. Or if you wanted the tail served as sashimi, deep freeze it first, then thaw etc. Cheers 🥂

    Those legs and that antenna looked delicious. It would've been interesting to see him try dipping it in melted garlic lemon butter, or just melted butter. Masaru would've probably enjoyed that.
    I'm wondering though what the miso (I usually would think of fermented legumes) he's referring to means. Is it the headfat? Because in Portugal we would go eat sapateira and they'd make a sauce from the headfat and juice of a crab. It was the best part of the entire dish.

      It's more about not getting criticized for his killing method or because of demonetization. No need to slob on the man's nob about how respectful and thoughtful he is, though I do have great respect for Masaru-san as a talented man of the seas.
      The last lobster he did, he froze it so that we Westerners would be happy, but he did not kill it all the way, and it was alive right up until the point it was boiled. I'm pretty indifferent, but this really wasn't ideal. So, do it off-camera instead, then nobody can criticize the method of killing because they didn't see it.
      Life does not usually go perfectly. There will always be some criticism some people can make, and he doesn't want to repeat the same mistake. Just because it's not filmed doesn't mean it didn't happen, obviously, but it helps keep monetization. TH-cam attacks channels like Masaru-san's because of the necessary guro element of preparing fish.
      Better keep the stabbing off camera - but don't assume that it's done perfectly or simply because Masaru-san truly cares about your sensibilities; it's done for more important reasons also. His statement that we see killing a lobster like killing a cat is half-disparaging towards Westerners, it is a joke at our expense lol.

    I just started doing spiny lobster hooping in SoCal last year and biggest one I've caught was two pounds which isn't that big compared to the others that they pulled up. Looking forward to the next season so I can get some big ones.

    Awe killing it off cam for the squeamish viewers is so thoughtful but totally unnecessary! Killing the animal is apart of your process, and you shouldnt have to change that due to people who find it a foreign thing. You're so kind Masaru!!

    Personally don't mind seeing the animal be killed, I just don't want to see it suffer. Every animal should only have one bad day, and it should be as quick and painless as possible.

      You TubeではユニクロTシャツとか着てるけど、普段はコムデギャルソンとか着てるって言ってたから、ライダースなんて着てて、いつものYou Tubeとは違った服だなぁと思ったのです。島ではギャルソン浮くから着ないって言ってたけど。

    I bought a Sous Vide thing a while ago. Masaru, you should try that, it's like steaming stuff, but SO much more controlled! Looks like lobster is 54C for 20min-1 hour.

    昔、沖縄に行った時に奮発して3万円くらいの食べましたが、美味しかったです。頭は味噌汁にして貰いました。大量に食べるにはもってこいのエビですね。

    僕は無類のエビ好きなのですが、ニシキエビは200年くらい前に沖縄の公設市場で食べたことあります。半分刺身で、半分バター焼きにしてもらいました。伊勢エビ系を選んでる時に、ひときわデカイ緑っぽい色のがいたので迷わず決めました。

    I Have spent so much time in debt since i started TH-cam,so I've developed the spirit of "Eat everything edible"
    yeah me too,but the differences are I'm not into youtube and I live far from sea
    like you can eat everything at least it's edible,too much salt? just modify/recook it to reduce the saltiness,too spicy? add some salt/sugar,too sweet? just eat them little by little/don't eat them too much, bitter? eat them with rice and don't let your tongue touch it(like bitter melon)

    昔台湾のレストランでこのエビが泳いでいて、現地の人がこのエビで炒めものを頼んでくれたのを覚えてます。

    Clarified butter is the way to go with lobster but I have never seen mozzarella cheese used but looks delicious.

    自分は甲殻類アレルギー持ちなんですが、食べて平気なものとダメなものがある原因が今までわからなかった。なんとなくデカめのものを食べた時がダメだなぁという感覚はあったんですが、大きいものだとアレルギーない人でもイガイガするんですね。耐えられないくらい痒くなるのでアレルギーには違いないようですが、デカい個体が持ってるなんかしらの物質がアレルギー源のようです。長年の疑問が解けました。
