- In this video, I will show you how to change the Tab Order of the fields in your form, remove fields from being Tab Stops and show you how to change the record Cycle from "next record" to "current record." This will allow you to not have the form open to text that can be accidentally typed over.
Eddy from The Netherlands (customer since 2011) asks, "I cannot find the way to deselect text inside the first field of the record on opening a form. How do I do this?"

Thanks. 3:45 exactly what I was looking for.
Glad to be of help
Thank you for another awesome tutorial Richard. I frequently have my coworkers open up an input form and change something in the first field in the tab order when the form opens, and we lose data. This will help me protect it better. P.S. I think the Bills have a great chance this year, not sure if you are a fan, but I grew up in Williamsville.
That's one of the reasons I like the first field in the tab order to be either an auto number or something that can't be edited. And yeah the Bills gave it a shot now they can buy their tickets to the Super Bowl like everyone else. 😊
Thank you, Richard! This is a really great tech help video.
You're very welcome.

Welcome
so clear! thanks
You're welcome!
Thank you very much. Just wondering if there is a way to stop enter key to go to next record. At the moment I set to field with vertical bar in the field. On pressing Enter key go to the next line in field. However if I press Enter key twice in the field, it will go to next Record
Once you change a text box to have the enter key go to the next line, it shouldn't advance to the next text box, or cycle the records. I'd have to see what's going on to tell you for sure.
Is there a way to run a tab order from a subform to parameter query? Because I want the parameter query to appear everytime I select a certain field.
