The windows are “original to the home” because tan France had the home built from scratch! There was a whole big thing about the windows, they were handmade and it was a big deal
Came here to say exactly this and after having watched that whole series, Im sure Tan would just be saddened to know that someone called those beautiful windows fake. But I get that since you didnt know that the whole house was COMPLETELY CUSTOM BUILT you get a pass. Y’all should watch it, every detail has a story behind it.
The first and second place finishers should have been reversed in my opinion, otherwise I agreed with the order. Tan’s kitchen was sooo classy and also functional with the spice kitchen being separate to keep the strong odors of the cooking contained. I also like that the spice kitchen was less formal so we got a gorgeous formal kitchen with top quality everything out front and a cozy spice kitchen with some more quirky touches. The value of his kitchen was 4-5 times the value of the 2nd place tiny kitchen.
I lOVE the spice kitchen! As someone loves spicy desi food, spicy fas eastern food and general spicy aromatic food, I know how the smell lingers in your clothes, furniture and the air. Having a closed kitchen where I could go to town with all the spices seems like a dream!
I'm not into the spicy kitchen, but as I have a completely open living, kitchen, dining space, I can seel the value of a second cooking, prepping space
In the whole series about building their house, Tan mentioned how growing up he got bullied for smelling like Indian food, so a big reason he wanted the spice kitchen was so his children didn’t experience the same thing. While heartbreaking, it’s sweet he thought about that. I watched my best friend go through that growing up.
@@Wandering.Homebody south asian people from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh (call themselves desi). We use lots of aromatic spices. Cook in ghee. Literally clicked hoping you included Tan France! Anyone who hasn’t needs to watch the whole AD series about building their house! It’s STUNNING and all the details are so beautiful!!!
Emma’s kitchen window placement makes the outside look like an expensive piece of art. In all honesty, if I had seen a pic of this space and not a video my mind would have never thought that that’s a window.
You are not supposed to keep the matcha powder in a glass container, just don't store it in any clear container it will oxidize. So when he is saying it's the best matcha, I'm mixed. It's just personal but Travis's kitchen looks like a kitchen showroom. A bit too cold. Loved so much the tacky granny one and Emmas kitchen is a dream. Its was so fun with Nina !!! We want her back for another episode.
Haha I love this theme!!! I love just sitting down and talking design with people. Omg the unfinished bottom I was like wait whaaa????!!!????? lol I cannot 😂😂😂
I like this way of analyzing design. It is so hard to go from "Oh, that's beautiful." to "I need to draw a plan for my kitchen." This comparison and detailing what is actually working and what is not working works!
@@Dimesamone94All these people are their employees, who they are using in place of Kelsey while she is filming for Wayfair Studio, and sometimes , replacing one of The Sorry Girls who were not available at time of production. It's nice, because we are introduced to the other team members.
I’ve seen Kelsey’s choice being built from scratch to finishing and remember thinking this has to be the most beautiful done kitchen I’ve ever seen. It was very well thought out and spacious and beautiful and new but with a lot of caracter
Rochy being the most relatable by digging the fridge as an introvert-yaaasssss 💗 Can we also take a moment to appreciate the perfect coffee table set up? 😍
i have a magnet wall (not the fridge) and its such a wonderful conversation piece when i have guests over, because especially some magnets have their own story of how i got them.
I think so many celebrities put light colored marble in their kitchens because they don't actually cook there. Marble is actually really porous, and that makes it stain easily. So... tell Kelsie if she ever does another kitchen, that she should research stone cause her boyfriend sounds like he shouldn't be allowed to cook near marble. 😂
Nina for the win! 🎉 Hope you come back! I love looking at kitchens so this was a blast! Potfillers-👎🏼 Sink in the island-👎🏼 This episode from the workshop floor-🙌🏼
As someone with chronic pain, the pot filler makes total sense. I wouldn’t have to carry a heavy pot of water to the stove. As for emptying it, generally I’m making something that will cause the water to cool down or off. But a drain at the stove would be amazing, also!
FTWF is always fun to watch.:-) Nina looks stunning, just wow!! ❤ It's also heartwarming to see how well your team get along, seems so genuine. I sincerely hope you'll keep the great rapport you've built and that new people joining you will be just as fab. ❤
Loved this episode as I love seeing around kitchens! At some point I would love it if you did hallways / entry ways / staircases - I find these spaces are often overlooked but you can be really fun and do something really different and personal in a hallway!
I'm with Rochelle. LOVE me some tacky grandma chic......as I'm a tacky grandma. But seriously, that kitchen had the coziest vibe & I'd not only cook there, I'd have a cot in the corner so I'd never have to leave. 💖💖💖
Loved Jon Batiste and Suleika Jaouad's kitchen I would 100% cook in this cozy kitchen. The others were too big and the kitchen triangle didn't exist, not functional. Fun video today ladies!
Great topic. Hard to choose. Mr. Tan’s kitchen was stunning, but somewhat of an untouchable bistro. Loved all the brick, but all that pale brass to clean? And, sorry, all the modern black with the marble background was A LOT of contrast. Sienna Miller: Down-to-earth pink walls and Crittall doors, but pieces of RUST falling into my food and beverage?? Noooooo. And, I didn’t understand the distracting curtains. Wild card Adua: I will say that the fridge magnets only work because the kitchen is so huge. Otherwise, they usually go on the side of the fridge. The expanse of curtains would be extra dirty and extra trouble to clean. The kitchen itself was like a small resto. Emma Chamberlain: Love, love, loved the pale, marble cupboard kitchen. It was so down-to-earth. (Too bad no island.) I would never have noticed the unfinished bottom of the counter. Such a light and airy room. *Pot fillers are cool and rather useful, depending on (A) the size of the kitchen and (B) the size of the tureens you’re regularly cooking and baking with. Barker-Kardashian: The black and whitish kitchen was STARK and so empty. Even a handful of enormous plants would have likely helped. Wild card Jon & Suleika’s kitchen was so lovely. (Not sure re the big, black stove tho, as it was a bit dominant.) *Feng Shui: A sink does not go directly across from the stove. No, no, no, no, no. There is no clear winner… except Emma Chamberlain’s and Jon & Suleika’s. Cheers🌬️🕊️.
The first and last kitchens shown were beautiful, especially the tile choices and backsplashes. However, overall my vote definitely would have gone to the pink and green cottage kitchen.
I want to be part of this series so much! Looks so fun! Also I'd love to see a living room episode. Also Crittall doors and windows are so well known in the UK to the point of almost being overused so it's so funny that they aren't known in Canada x
I am dying over Nina's voice in the Kardashians bit, oh my GAWD. so funny! also, the chairs in that kitchen look SO uncomfortable. give me padded seats any day. I think my fave in order of usability was the one with the whole wall of countertop space, with no upper cupboards. I'm 4ft5, and have lots of upper cupboards in my kitchen that I just can't use because I can't reach them, so a whole kitchen with no upper cupboards just feels so right to me.
The "spice" kitchen, for asians we call it "dirty kitchen", as he said where we can cook smelly, clutter and mess around as much as we can, and wont think about cleaning right away when we have people to feed
Happy Saturday TSG! Do you think there will be more episodes in the future where you all make something (and maybe it's a contest or not)? The series started off that way but since then it's been mostly discussing online items / rating celebrity rooms etc. Just wondering. 🥰

On the spice kitchen: while I personally don't mind the whole flat smelling of food, I do understand some people do and therefore prefer the kitchen to have doors. But what's the huge stove in the open kitchen for then? Prepare falvourless food? Seems pretty redundant to me the rattan shades in the kitchen look like a grime magnet very satisfying to have Jon Baptiste and Suleika Jaouad's kitchen win because it's just the most reasonable /reasonably sized while still being beautiful.
