We got asked to makeover these newly renovated vacation rental spaces for Kelsey's partner's mom, but we only had 5 days to complete it & we decided to make it a bit of friendly competition!
Both space has lots of potential but are basically empty. There was already a kitchen stove unit, and some basics, like a fridge, lighting, and a sink. To make these suites livable for vacationers, we need to bring in beds, kitchen tables, some seating and storage, and spice it up with some decor.
We were also given the challenge of going along with different themes, a 1920s Saloon and a beach house. Who do you think will win?!?

This challenge reminds me of decorating the homes in Animal Crossing. In the Happy Home Paradise dlc, they give you a theme and some required furniture pieces you have to use to decorate the space!

I'm loving all the content you've been putting out lately! Same feel it's always had, but elevated! Like this is such a good idea. Can't wait to see the final products. One of my Favorite things to watch on youtube is when the Sorrygirls go thrifting. Or when they use what they have. In his video they do BOTH. Love it.
The blue color is a really good choice as it goes so nicely with the Golden tone of the wood of the bed.

Two things in the North American interior design culture I will never understand:
- pendant light hung really high up
- putting a bed in front of a window.

Putting a bed in front of a window is a no-go for me even though I live in North America. I don't think I will ever be able to accept it? Lol
I’m guessing they would not do that with the bed under normal circumstances. Kind of didn’t have another option.

@@lenesvingel4450 Sometimes you are forced to go with the dimensions of a room and the size of the item you need to put in there. Not the best choice, but it's the only choice sometimes if there is no other wall that works!

Painting the trim in the Kelliot home - I was actually imagining an orange for the pop of colour (maybe because of the tropical plant?), so I was surprised by light blue! Could you paint the exterior trim of the windows too, so you get the little detail when people walk up to the front door from outside as well?
The big wagon wheel light fixture in the Baustin home - would it be cool to replace the light pieces with planters and have droopy plants hanging down from the ceiling? Thinking of using the barrel for the table is so perfect, and that Yosemite map was an amazing find?! If you somehow fit a rocking chair in there I'll be obsessed because I just keep imagining a rocking chair on an old west porch ahaha.

I'm at the point where they are selecting bed frames and I feel like they should have swapped. The vine style bedhead would go with the swanky palm theme and the warm tone wood suits the western theme.
You could've used the big wooden wheel on top of the barrel to make the bar table ! You can put it to the right height with a center pole underneath and finish it with a round glass table top. And the wheel seemed larger that the barrel, so you would have room underneath for your legs. Anyway, that were my two cents ^-^
