For the dough 3 1/2 cups of flour 3 1/2 TBSP butter 1/2 TSP salt 1 1/2 cups of freezing water For the Butter 16oz of unsalted butter (4 sticks) 4 TSP of lemon juice 1/2 TSP of salt Filling Shredded cooked chicken breast Chopped bell peppers Chopped onions Chopped habanero (optional)
Thank you so much sis for this recipe 🙏🏾 only question the 1/2 cup of flour added to the butter is it part of the 31/2 cup used for the dough ? Or the recipe needs 4 cups of flour?
Thank you for being so considerate with speaking in both English and Creole. I know that it must be hard but i really appreciate that. I was born in an Haitian household and i sadly don't know how to speak any Creole and i can only speak English, but i really wanted to learn how to make this dish because Pate is one of my favorite foods and my Mom doesn't make it often because of how long it takes and there aren't any places that make this where i live. So again thank you for posting an amazing recipe and taking your time to show us how to make this and how you presented this in an manner that is accessible to everyone. I'll be sure to make this soon. :)
You are so so welcome. I’m so happy this video can help you achieve what you want. I thank you for taking the time to write this because I’m dropping the ball on teaching my kids the language. I’m picking it back up starting today. Thank you so much 😊
I have been making Patties for years (since Haiti) this is the best and easiest recipe I have ever made. My kids, grandchildren and husband love it. This is worth the time spent. Thank you for sharing
You did soooo good! I can’t wait to try your cooking one day. ..you’re blessed to come like this. Thanks for adding English along with the Haitian Creole.

I'm not sure if you still see comments for this video, but might you advise putting the folds in the freezer for those of us living in the Caribbean? It's so hot and butter melts quickly just out the fridge. Would freezer ruin anything?
Hey. No the freezer wouldn’t just don’t live it in there for long. You want the dough to be cool not cold. Otherwise it will fall apart. Hope this helps.
I know that this is an ol I just came across it, I tried many times that way I failed .I tried by spreading the butter many times, and I failed as well. How are you able to manage the butter not to come out?
I appreciate it the way you would teach step by step how to make a patient's party and also only two things I have to set you forgot to say in kreyol how make sure your counter has to be clean you said in English but you did not say it in kreyol and also when you said in English it was my fault that the door was stick so you have enough flour you said in English but in Creole you shorten it didn't say it was your fault that's only cuz I have to say but after that you did a wonderful job I liked it and remind me and I try it and remind me of the party back home when I was in Haiti well done I guess you was really tired that day but you did a beautiful job🤗😘🙏💔🍷🥂🍽
You can, but if you don’t mind me saying, it’s not healthy. My mom actually taught me to use Crisco so I’m not knocking it. If you want to though you definitely can.

What's the purpose of the lemon juice ?
I know that this is an ol I just came across it, I tried many times that way I failed .I tried by spreading the butter many times, and I failed as well. How are you able to manage the butter not to come out?
You have to make sure the butter is not too cold and not too soft. Hope this helps
One thing you missed in your video is mentioning the timing of the baking. How long and for how many degrees should we be baking it in the oven for?
Well explained Lise ! I have a couple a question: How long do you knead it on the stand mixer?
I’m bout 5 minutes or until you don’t see the dough sticking in the mixer anymore
Should the filling be cool when you form the patties or does it not matter?
A little bit yes.
What seasonings have you used for the chicken breast please?
Some Epis, adobo, season salt, garlic and onion powder, and black pepper
