Having trouble getting cam to launch. Java is updated correctly on my PC. Anyone else run into this? Basically when I double click Celestron firmware manager.class to run it I see what looks like a command prompt flash on the screen for a brief moment and disappear. Nothing happens after that.
Got the Boot display and CFM finally recognizing the USB device, Nextstar+ . . . packages downloaded, update failed . . . and now my handset is useless. Can't access the Boot display . . . nothing but two lines of squares.
@@olivierolivier3734 I kept retrying and finally got the updates and all 'packages' recognized and drivers. I added the motorized focus and WIFI dongle, and have the 10mgpxl Neximage camera. Finally got the focuser calibrated and all the software/programs installed, plus ASCOM. Practicing setting up and will do my first sky alignment soon. Filters for the moon, Jupiter, and the Sun. All of these are bright subjects to learn on . . . then, will start a few deep sky targets. For those, may have to build or buy a wedge.
My handset doesn't even look like that. It doesn't have a Celestron logo button, but instead that button says INFO, and the menu button isn't 7, it's 3. No way to get to Bootloader mode. This is why ZWO is eating Celestron's lunch in the telescope business. Software.

When I plug in my controller it says "User Keypad Entry" not "CFM Request" any idea on what to do from here?

You can also update via a wifi dongle.
NOT even close to what I'm seeing. I think there are a lot of steps, or settings left out of the video.

They have to get off Java and rewrite the update code in some other languange - its insecure and modern computers are having a hard time with it.
