He is among the greatest flautists that we have in my opinion, and for reasons unknown, has clearly not been given his due in the pantheon of great musicians Only solace is he is not alone in that league.
Sankarabharanam is always welcome, and if it comes with Endukku peddala vale buddhi yivavu, a Tyagaraja gem, it is doubly pleasing. If Sri MC and Dorai sir are with my dear friend Sri KSG, I don't want this song to end. Absent of the annoying scratchy bowing sounds from the violinists of the "much sought-after and busy violinists" (many of them young) of these days' Chennai music scene Sri MC's style is such a welcome relief. He is a humble man too. I miss KSG in the active concert scene these days. This is what is called pure shankarabharanam !!!! Sri KSG is one of the greatest flutists in Carnatic Music. He is from Trivandrum, Kerala.
