When you mentioned that the same fragrance smelled diff when you tried at the mall, do remember that fragrances, especially those with any natural ingredients will macerate inside the bottle after you open it, sometimes it takes months or even a year to reach its full potential, but the first time you spray from a bottle is never really the same as how it will fully develop later.
Impeccable taste in deed. I adore Guerlain and I have Jicky, Shalimar, Habit Rouge and Heritage. Mitsouko is a jewel but chipres don’t work on my skin, except for Cabochard. Very nice review.

Let these brand new bottles macerate for a couple of months-you’ll see their performance improve-but most importantly, they’ll smell even better, more rounded, more complex, etc. Also, if you want to experience these perfumes for their true beauty-you must try them in Extrait concentration. Cheers! Now pick a bottle of Mitsouko EDP and L’heure Bleue EDT! Haha

I was excited to try Jicky, all I could afford was a sample. It has like you said a citrus/spiciness and to me a slight Shalimar-esq scent. However I do not care for it, I think the lavender note keeps me from liking it. I love Shalimar though! I really want to try Apres L'Ondee but it's hard to come by, I found some on ebay but the prices are extremely high for me.
What about Jicky EDT? Any idea how long Jicky lasts ? What season is best for it? Thanks Love your videos and the passion for fragrances that come thru your voice. Keep it up.

Not all online fragrance reviewers are able/willing to do so. Regarding Apres L’ Ondee; I adore it. Actually, of all the Guerlain fragrances I’ve tried/wear, Apres L’ Ondee is my favorite. And this is where I am confused by your (and so many other’s) opinion that it smells of melancholy. I just can’t understand that! Am I the only one who smells the exact opposite of melancholy when I wear it? For me, it smells of the freshness and hope that comes after the rain stops falling. The scent of herbs and wild flowers, warming up as the sun appears. What could be and smell more joyous than that?
Get yourself a decant of Vol de Nuit Extrait, the modern EdT is pretty bland. I think you tried an older bottle, the vintage EdT is closer to the Extrait.

guerlain is incredibly underrated , tonka imperiale is gorgeous
I love Apres l'ondee. So soft, delicate and classy. At least here in Europe it's not discontinued. It's sold in the heart shaped bottles now.
Vol de Nuit (vintage extract) is the pinnacle of the fragrance art. Jicky, is on par with VdN. Both Guerlain superstars.
