I was there! The name of the club was Saltlageret. So happy to find this vid! Just wish the quality of the audio & video were better. Oh, well. It was an incredible show. Devin was a complete NOBODY. Who knew he would go on to become an alt-grind-metal legend.
The part where Dev pulls the guy out of the audience and gets him on stage during Pig, jumping and being all over the stage. Dude mellowed out so much over time.
Wow, I had no idea this existed. I was at this show. First time I saw Steve live. Incredible experience. Funny thing: I remember waiting outside the venue, before doors opened, and a few guys left when they realised it wouldn't be Terry Bozzio on drums...
Astounding! almost entirely studio recorded album vis a vis LIVE! amazing my thought vai and devin can not perform to the exact! Im truly astonished..perfect 10
Very cool. I saw this Steve Vai tour when he opened for Aerosmith in Dublin. It wasn't really "Vai" by this stage, the band had split up before the tour started and only Devin Townsend remained so it was Steve Vai on tour with hired guns (DT wasn't as well known then as he is now). It was great though
Abe Laborial Jr left before the European tour. The guy in his place here is a greek-american guy called Toss Panos. Still drumming today. According to Scott Thunes (Steve Vais bassist here, also toured with Vai in Frank Zappas band in 1981, or 82) Toss learned the entire set while flying over to do the first show he was to do replacing Abe.

The internet says the club was called "Pumpehuset"
@@Imperialmusicfan It's the same club. Name was changed.
Also saw the Dead Kennedys there in 1982.
the "untitled" song ended up as "All Hail the New Flesh" in Devin's Strapping Young Lad
