Cheers for checking out my Barbie Phone review! Um, if you're a kid you probably shouldn't be watching, incidentally. Some potty mouthed stuff in there as usual. Although no worse than you hear from your parents' bedroom, most likely
All they would have needed to do was have movie Barbie carrying a plastic fake phone in her handbag which turns into this phone once she's in the human world.
Hah! I see your 43 and 48, and raise to 55. I'm here for the comedy and the Geordie/probably makem accent. I do like that pink phone he's gannin on aboot though 😊
Talk about a 2000s nostalgia trip. I know it's not technically a 2000s phone but come on; wrist straps, changeable back covers, a clamshell phone with a physical T9 keypad, a replaceable battery, barbie, it's all there! Makes me miss the days when a phone with a changeable back cover wasn't seen as rare and unusual.
@@TechSpurt If companies like fairphone can convince phone manufacturers that replaceable backs are still effective in waterproofing, It's very possible
Considering there is still a market for these kinds of "dumbphones", I feel like there should also be proportional advancements in camera technology, and therefore SoC and memory capacity. Just because your children or grandparents don't get a smartphone, doesn't mean they don't want good pictures (relative to price).
There have been phones in this form factor release with like 40mp+ cameras. It's not that we can't, it's just that companies wanna save a buck and people don't want to shell out that much for a dumbphone
I think part of the problem is that a lot of people don’t know or care what a good picture is. Anybody buying a dumb phone who wants to take good photos will already own a better, standalone camera and nobody else cares enough for it to be worth the extra cost. Most people really cannot see the difference in quality. Unless every flip phone on the market starts providing better cameras no manufacturer will!
@@peugeoting I disagree with that. I know a lot of people who enjoy photography, or simply taking some basic photos without having to squint to see what the photo is even of. And they use phones to do it, because only enthusiasts carry cameras nowadays. If you think the average layman can't discern the difference between a 5mp image and a 16mp one, you're crazy. I don't think anyone expects insane quality out of a flip phone, but cameras below like 12mp shouldn't even be getting sold anymore.
My brother introduced his phone to a stone path last week, and with his birthday coming up I was going to buy him a phone. This is ideal as he'll be 41.
Super cute phone. It seems to be good for just a starter phone for a kid to keep them off social media. Or maybe for older people who don't want all the smartphone features.
i got mine yesterday and i love it! the easter eggs are so fun and im obsessed with the included diamantes and stickers for customisation purposes (totally didnt spend most of my lunch break decorating it!) i do wish the music player software was a bit better though
How did you get your contacts on it? I put my SIM card in but nothing transferred over and it said no service. Would you suggest buying a different SIM card only for the flip phone?
The amount of effort that Nokia/HMD put into this phone, accessories, packaging, etc is seriously impressive & utterly amazing. Amazing, because Nokia/HMD seem to be in a downward death spiral with phones like the Nokia C32 having had exactly zero security updates since November 2023! I even did a factory re-set in the hope it would bring in another security update. I thought it would get security updates in a timely fashion like they managed to do around 2018/19. The C32 is very slow but does have impressive battery life & a good camera for the price.
So you are telling me that this 100£ Barbie phone comes with accessories and my 1200$ s23 ultra had a cable in the box? Really? What is wrong with you Samsung
@rejectionisprotection4448 oh yes the environment. No one cares for it when overconsumption is taking over the world and for of life but when they are to leave us some cool stuff to attach to our expensive phones they care for it .
*I'm sorry but this is sooooo cute, its giving y2k realness! Although the phone itself is lacking in modern features, its still very cool with the additional straps, backings etc.*
As silly as it is I actually like how there’s Easter eggs and stuff. It’s basically a Nokia 2780 and honestly if I was gonna switch to a flip I might as well go all the way lol
If Mattel has their finger on the pulse they'll soon be releasing Tech Spurt Barbie, complete with pint glass and hip flask accessories and assortment of various Monster Munch.
Not going to lie here, I had zero interest or desire for this phone but if you had the cojones to honestly review it, I damn well am watching the entire video from beginning to end, and sharing it
Sort of phone you get your kid you don't like to go to school with so they get picked on, then they come home and cry and send them back with the same phone becuase their story was so funny!
Missed oportunity to make this following the Japanese standards, same form factor, but adding Android. I wish those were internationally available because is literally the best combo

Shaking like ashittttin dog 😂. Spurt honestly, do you have a script or is this all off the cuff wizardry?

I can only imagine how successful the sales would have been if they had sold it last year during all the Barbie movie craze
This would have gone CRAZY in the early 2000s
All they would have needed to do was have movie Barbie carrying a plastic fake phone in her handbag which turns into this phone once she's in the human world.

Yeah, the fully customisable phones back in the day were cracking. Those Lumias with the swappable backs too. Hopefully making a comeback soon!

you can change back covers easily? ever taken apaart a modern android motorola, or a vivo? the back cover is held on by glue.
@@JamesBD05that's the thing, it *was* possible. Look at Galaxy S5. Companies are just greedy nowadays and fairphone is no better

That's a great package tbh, with plenty of stuff for customization.
Right? I've never seen a modern feature phone ship with that many customization options straight up in the box
