It’s so warm in Scotland at the moment. Only last week it was so so cold 😂. The walks are brilliant there aren’t they. Think you’re parked in the same spot we were lol. Plus the picnic benches are such a nice touch.
Hi 👋🏻 Dan and Maz Loving your Scotland 🏴 trip, it’s the most special place.. What a shame about your sausage, that’s disappointing 😅 You both look soo happy and fresh as daises. Lots of love ❌❌💕💕🇦🇺🇦🇺🏴🏴
Hi Dan and mazzy The cutting of the monks hair is called a “western monastic tonsure” the reason it’s “western” is because it specifically originated and was practiced in western Christianity. signifies loads of different things due to local traditions, but in a nutshell it represents the status of being a monk, obedience and humility.
Hi dan and mazzy loving these vlogs so pretty all the hanging baskets of flowers etc sweetheart abbey fancy being buried with your husbands heart thats weird nice place though and the mill was nice too l like square sausages Mmm yum greggs sausage rolls are the best 😊
Tonsure can also refer to the secular practice of shaving all or part of the scalp to show support or sympathy, or to designate mourning. Current usage more generally refers to cutting or shaving for monks, devotees, or mystics of any religion as a symbol of their renunciation of worldly fashion and esteem.
have massive amounts of fun...my cat got a baby field mouse yesterday...and guess what i did with it.............took him in and gave him a warm bed and food for the night...his name is paul...because i found him half dead under the tarpaulin...anyways have fun times you 2 xx
Monks shaving their heads .Renunciation: Shaving their heads is a way for monks to renounce vanity and worldly ways, and to detach from their external appearance. Lymbolism: Shaving their heads is a symbol of their commitment to their monastic life, and of their renunciation of worldly goods and ego. Purification: Shaving their heads is a way to purify themselves. Practicality: Shaving their heads can be practical in hot weather. Pabbajja: Shaving their heads is part of the process of Pabbajja, which is the process of leaving home to live as a Buddhist renunciate. .Gender differentiation: Buddhist monastics, regardless of sex, wear the same robes and shaved heads.

One of my favourite vlogs in ages! I always love a good abbey ruins, and that old Cornmill was the icing on the cake - what a brilliant looking place! I love anything like that, so much history out there just waiting to be found. Excellent place to camp too - proper traditional camping right there. Loved it.
