    I'm always amazed at the size of your garden and what you have achieved. Not just the garden itself, but also the business. A true inspiration to us all.

    Craig I would like to thank you and George and Kris for all your informative videos. You have a great store of really useful information to share. I am in my 80s and decided to go tropical much to my husbands disgust last year and it has been so interesting learning about plants new to me. We are in Hertfordshire and I have grown cannas from seed, and have a canna musifolia now flowering in October ( not from seed). Hope you are able to keep up the inspirational videos.

    At least Brassaiopsis are hard to find in the UK, in NL it seems impossible haha. But you gave me so much other great tips I really don't mind 😄 Who knows what I can trade in the future once I have more plants to trade with collectors

    How a begonia luxurians can survive a winter in UK?

    • @Tampo-tiger
      @Tampo-tiger 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can't, it HAS to be at least frost-free, probably around 12c to 15c minimum. Hope that helps you Lucio.

    Thank you for the advice; it's so good to know that you needn't keep buying new plants if you just divide the ones you have. I will be experimenting more with dividing plants in my little tropical garden this year.

    Fun watching this. I also have a small garden like yours crammed with tropical plants. I also have clay soil but shovelled sand and soil through it to make it more airier and this also raised the garden so it improved drainage. I also put drainage pipes in the soil to remove excess water.

    • @GrowParadise
      @GrowParadise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Justin, there are so many ways to garden in clay soil. Lots of people are terrified of it. After 3 years of adding manure my soil is really rich now, perfect for the big leaved tropicals. 👍

    Your Rhus tree looks surprisingly similar to my Ailanthus Purple Dragon. At least the shape of the leaves and the way the branches split. The Ailanthus gained a lot of height in its first few years which I did not really foresee, but it really makes a great addition in a slightly larger garden, and also has this tropical appearance.

    • @GrowParadise
      @GrowParadise  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ailanthus are fantastic trees, I have seen them grow into giants! 👍😁

    Are there any tropical fruit trees that have done well in the UK weather in an open aired garden for example mangoes, sapodilla, cinnamon, achiote, date palms etc or common fruit plants such as passionfruits, chayote, papaya, dragonfruits, galangal, common ginger, turmeric, moringa, figs, achocha, banana plants to fruit ?
