I actually think the show lost its way a bit cus, for whatever reason, L.A.H. didn't like it when people were too outside the box with the tasks. Weird.
@@jageiosjgaeiojg same reason --- it's a comedy show. if they find a funny loophole that's still in the spirit of the show, then it'll make it in. if they're doing a loophole that's not in the spirit of the show to the point that it's not funny, then the producers wouldn't want that.
I’ve watched this show from it’s very first broadcast and it’s been my favourite now for a long time. You mention the judging and the points, part of the magic of the show is that Greg judges the tasks live in front of the studio audience and that is his genuine first time seeing the films so the production crew & Alex (who invented the show) have no idea on how the points & wins will be distributed. They edit the tasks purely on comedy and as you get further into the seasons different contestants try to do things in a way just to impress him… with varying & hilarious results. Even though I love this particular series it’s actually the weakest of the UK run as you can see they’re still working it out. You are in for an absolute treat as you work your way through this show
Oh yes !! TREE WIZARD. Sometimes when I'm having a bad day I just have to go back and rewatch Tree Wizard. I cannot help but laugh. Every. Single. Time.
So im on to series 4 now, and yes the show does start to find its footing moreso as well as some moments that brought me to tears laughing my ass off. Keep up the great shtuff my dude!
I'm glad you kept watching through the season 1! The contestants had such good chemistry, and this also has some of the most iconic tasks, which at least I go back and rewatch again and again, such as the Melon Buffet, or Identify the Pie, or Collect 7 points. 😅
Greg doesn't know the tasks at all, seeing them for the first time when they film with the audience. He has full authority to award points in any way he feels like. There is also a prize task and the live task in each episode to take into account. And the production try to not manipulate the order of tasks too much if they can according to the creator (Alex, as I imagine you know by now from other comments). So generally speaking they don't create drama artificially.
Interesting, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that. I'd assume like any reality show, the editing is a lot more of a factor than people might think. Appreciate the info!
Alex is the actual boss of the show who invented the show and invents the tasks, but he knew he didn't have the personality to be authoritarian so he got his friend comedian Greg to play that role.
Not surprised that Tree Wizard was stuck in your head lol, i think you'll that to be the case with a lot of the music tasks that happen throughout the show

tipp-ex is a brand name for correction fluid and tape (same thing as wite-out basically), but the name has become genericized in the UK and a bunch of other European countries to mean any brand or generic correction fluid or correction tape
I have only seen a few epsiodes, but i do like this show. It helps that I watch a lot of British TV Panel shows, so I know almosst all of the contestants all the time.
The show doesn't work the same if it's not Greg's first time seeing their attempts, and he's the one who decides the points, so it's not quite so planned out like you said
@@AdamfromFWCI They can sway things by grouping tasks where one contestant has performed well, particularly if the scoring is based on some objective measure (like the "Do X. Fastest wins" tasks), but it's also ultimately up to Greg's whims on the day.
@@AdamfromFWCI The production team always say (and former contestants concur) that they never select the tasks for particular episodes based on the way they think the points will be scored (eg to give contestants a chance to shine in an episode or to create tension for the series rankings). It's more to give balance of response in each episode
