XY has the best animation in the whole series. It had standout scenes in almost every episode and even on the lower octane episodes, the art and designs were all the best the series has ever looked, so it didn’t need to have any super amazing sakuga to look great. But looking back, we were seriously spoiled for this series in terms of amazing cuts. Esp in XYZ, the league battles were a sight to behold and just a blast to watch with the 3D camera and equally incredible cuts by so many talented animators. Even the repeat animations used for stuff like Pikachus thunderbolt and Ash sending out a Pokémon were top notch and never got old to watch. No wonder everyone loves this series, because not only does it have the best characters, story, music, and Pokémon (Greninja goat) it has the best animation in all of the 20+ years it’s been airing.
Sun and Moon has more animation for the non battle stuff. The average dialogue scene was much more lively. XY might have the best battle animation overall but that 3d camera is a bit motion sickness inducing for me.
There are many "samples" when the Pokémons initiating their attacks (like the Karate Chop of Hawlucha or the Thunder of Pikachu), but except that, the fights are very well choreographed
This is the last series to be animated in 30 fps. Imagine of it was animated now, that sweet crispy 60fps with this animation style would've been awesome.

Not gonna lie xy/z animation is amazing probably one of the best or the best
I once heard that XYZ was peak Pokemon for the Anime. As in, Ash was on his _strongest_ and the battles were crazy.
They were right imo
@@baumrensakuga3262 Since I'm watching the Pokemon Animes in JP Dub recently, might as well check out the XYZ series, then.
I only ever watched the Indigo League anime, but I've played all the games, and X&Y is still my favorite. This made me feel nostalgia for those days.
One of the best "kids" anime animation wise. They actually have choreography instead of using the same animations and cga every fight.

FINALLY I FOUND THIS VIDEO AGAIN

What?
Yeah no. 60fps just doesn't work at times
