I've done a JVC backlight repair that had the panel glued with double sided tape. First one I'd come across. As I lifted it, not knowing it was stuck in certain places, the panel separated...game over!
Luckily the owner was a friend who'd basically said "It was already broke in my eyes anyway"...as the backlight had gone. Annoyed me though, as I could've fixed it had I been expecting the glued sections.

Ahh trust man, it’s getting worse the newer they get. Michael Drainfeild has a good video on the ones with no frame 😭

@@MrReeceyburger123 It's funny that you mention Michael. I've followed him for a while now, and I'm in Lincolnshire so not a million miles from him. I'm definitely going to visit his shop one day as I love learning from the old masters. He said "Just give me a heads up when you're coming!" What a nice guy. Who taught you electronics mate? I'm self taught, which takes a long time. Mainly for fun... however I'm doing electrical/mechanical engineering for work. Wish I'd have done electronics as a qualification when I was younger though.

Oh Reece we’ve all done it, I have done a few curved but just been lucky I guess, i normally just lean the screen against the wall, I had done a 49” Samsung curved arrange for the buyer to collect it, tripped up and broke the screen on a door handle lol,
Keep up your good work anyway cheers mate

Haha that’s it mate, ahh no hope the customer wasn’t an ass after 🙈 I knew after seeing the crushed drivers the panel would be fked, unsure if the green line was there before I took it apart or what. I’ve done a couple, just not anymore as they are too fragile and I cannot be bothered with moaning off of people these days.

Neither have I tbf, thought I’d film it when I seen it. Then the panel cracked cleaning the glue, the green line was present before the crack too so it was fked from the start. Cheap rubbish 😭

I’d say a drop of iPa every now and then making sure only the smallest of drops will help a lot. Don’t use heat at all deffo asking for trouble. Unless you can reliably heat the rear cover
