The stripes symbolize his possession of Bramblestar’s body in The Broken Code and the spots symbolize the body when he was alive in before Hollyleaf killed him in Long Shadows. 😅
Nothing against this animatic, it’s amazing, but I really dislike how the Erins did Ashfur after Midnight.. Because before Dawn, he didn’t show *any* interest in Squirrelflight and acted normally around her. But then, all of a sudden in Dawn, he expressed a deep relief at seeing her alive and then showed interest in her? That’s just weird. And okay, perhaps there was a reason he was relieved that she was alright out of worry for his Clanmate, but I don’t remember him showing the same relief for Brambleclaw. And the two toms were literally friends before The New Prophecy and I think even in Midnight! So how does that whole plot line make sense and even work other than just butchering Ashfur’s character?! Makes no sense at all! Oi.. the books have just been annihilating my favorite characters.. First Firestar with Spottedleaf and Sandstorm, then Ashfur with Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw.. and now Bramblestar with Squirrelflight! And don’t get me wrong, I still love the series. I just grit my teeth and read through the parts I hate..
The erins don’t ever plan ahead and put no effort into world building. This leads to cats personalities suddenly changing for plot convenience like cats suddenly becoming villains. I like the idea behind warriors but the books themselves really are VERY poorly written..like at times it feels worse than amateur writing with the blatant mistakes, rewritten events, characters changing, scenery changes, ect. Ashfur suddenly changing to be clingy to squirrelflight and in love with her is just one of many examples of them suddenly deciding on a plot line and shoe horning it in
@@testerwulf3357 I don’t think it is necessarily bad to not plan ahead, some people enjoy living the story with their characters as they go. But I think it’s important to plan certain points so that buildups to characters like Ashfur actually make sense
