I was born in Saltburn and grew up in Redcar and Marske. I go back regularly and we always do the walk along the beach to Saltburn and back along the cliffs if the tide is in. I never get tired of it 😀
I used to run the dog, and play football on the beach at Maske way back in the early 80's. I agree with you, I do love the sound of the sea, but the North Sea seems to have its own unique sound - and hence why I have always gravitated towards it - Probably why I spend whole chunks of my life in and around Whitby. And what no back up batteries for your camera - I carry two for one camera, and the other shoots well over 800 images per charge, so I check it every month or so. Cracking episode Col, hope you are banging in the miles on your bike.
Nice to see you in our relatively local area. Shame about the weather - the pub stopovers come in very handy don’t they! All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
We just live in Guisborough, you went to best place for fish and chips at saltburn at the pier. Saltburn is lovely. Also is a good stop is Gribdale carpark what takes you up to captain Cooks monument. 😊. I love Scotland. Hopefully might run into you one day. Alia
Ah, dude, it doesn't matter where I am, if there's a beach, I'm there! I love films, I love my metal music, sometimes I even listen to my wife, but the sound of the ocean.........that's the one 🤘
Though I live in Oxfordshire now, I was born & bred (some say dragged up 😉) in Middlesbrough - that coastline from Redcar to Saltburn was our playground when I was a kid - and it always rained!!! 😂 - it’s still a stunning coast…I’m glad you enjoyed yourself there. Always enjoy your videos Colin - keep them coming 👍
Awesome col ,,,just downt road from me ,,if your ever in saltburn again you can park in both car parks ,,the ships a great pub ,,and theres a great walk up the nab from there along the coastal cliffs ,,keep well mate 👍👍
Awesome info thank you... I have stayed in the car park before (I think about a year ago) it rained then too 🤣🤣! I've been wanting to go to the cliffs for ages, the weather has always been against me though sadly! I'll be back
Nice video, can't believe you were 2 mins from my house would have bought you a beer, think I actually saw your van parked up but didn't realise, keep up the great work
Ah my local and places where I walk.shame didn't bump into you to compare T6s lol..iits nice to park up on the coast road also.great videos I'm currently trying find a suitable power station that will not overload for induction cooking after steeling your idea 😅.
Hey Colin , the pain of audio eh 😢, I’ve just gone for the DJI mic 2, it has a Bluetooth connection and is compatible with most cameras with Bluetooth (if you have one), you can have the transmitter under your waterproof coat 👍
‘No patience for landscape’ I’m with you. Love the outdoors will take my camera most of the time but unless it unfolds in front of me by shear fluke of timing then it’s not happening. This year got the clip thing that has made big difference as camera is on my shoulder strap so no more could not be arsed stopping taking rucksack off only to see lights changed anyway. Last summer we walked up the coast a bit for you . Sunderland to South Shields great cared walk with great coffee stops and a bar in cave on beach. I’m sure may have already done it if not should give it a go. Keep up the good work.
I'm with you on that bud... if it is there I'll stop but if not ill keep going 😂😂! I don't mind talking the bag off, I used to have a clip that the camera attached to for quick access but hardly used it because every time I go out it rains 🤣🤣
yeah, you seem to be unlucky with the rain keep the shower caps from hotels then fire it over the camera but maybe not if on for the day.@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures
Another great vlog colin and ive already bookmarked Turners for a stopover . Would there be a way of showing your walking and cycling routes too maybe from Strava possibly. As im keen to do the same routes. ?
Thanks buddy, thats awesome... I will do in future vlogs mate... ill link them to outdoor active and then you can download them as a GPX route to load to strava
Thank you.... I had planned to bring him on this trip but sadly he was poorly. He's back to his bouncy self now so he'll definitely be on my next trip ;)
Thanks buddy, I think I'm going to put the wireless mic I have inside my jacket next time as that should do the same thing without me having to spend ages syncing up audio in the edit. Might need a bit of EQ as it could muffle the sound a bit being under my jacket. But at least it'll stay dry 🤣
Hey buddy, because I'm a cheap ass Yorkshire man, they are just cheap walking trousers from amazon about £30 - had them ages and love them amzn.to/3IbEjIZ
Sorry you feel that way matey! Unlike some other creators, im not doing it for clicks, views or likes (which is fine if thats what they are happy doing). Im doing this because i enjoy documenting my trips and If just one person enjoys my content and gets something out of it (like a new idea for a place to stop in their van) then I'm happy. Pop back from time to time as you never know, there may be a place you'd like to visit too. Stay awesome and thanks for the feedback!
Sorry Colin to be a little negative I love your channel and tell ppl all the time to watch it but just saying what I was feeling at the time but it’s all love for the channel 👍

Great video, Colin. Thanks for braving the elements. Why didn't you bring Branston on your adventure? 👍
Thank you....
I had planned to bring him on this trip but sadly he was poorly. He's back to his bouncy self now so he'll definitely be on my next trip ;)
To get better audio. Try using the voice recorder on your phone and put it in your shirt pocket 👍
