There's a lot of helpful information here - thank you. It would be helpful, though, if you could speak a little more slowly in this instructional video. Thanks!
Hi! Paige, so this is a much needed video. I’m currently a Wordpress user and it’s to complicated and requires a steep learning curve. I’m considering transferring to Square space to make my blogging experience less stressful
So true. Word press requires so much more maintenance than anyone would believe, unless they use it. Plus by the time you get 20 different apps added to it, the nightmare really begins. I think I will go to Square space myself.
Hi im currently a squarespace user and am trying to do as i follow along to your video but my drop down options dont include blog, ive seen in their help section they are calling this page a story not blog. Is it the same? also mine doesnt offer the blog layout options. hope this makes sense and you may have some insight? thank you so much this video is super helpful
Looking for a tutorial to move my blog! It is interesting, but hell you are like a machine gun! Talking so fast I was truly unable to really grasp and follow the content! Its like its for a experienced dedicate nerd type, try a blog for none nerd people and take your time slowly please. People do this blasting rapid fire thing far to much on line, please slow down and give people chance to follow what you are saying. I am positive your content is excellent, but what an assault it is, I had to stop it!
So grateful to you for explaining diff between linked and not linked section of pages. Thought my SQSP site was broken or buggy. But was just human error. Keep up the great knowledge sharing sis! 🙂
Excellent video. I like how straightforward you are! Please, what is the best method to add a share button for blog posts on squarespace 7.1? Thanks in advance!
how do i justify the text alignment, (not in the blog post), but the Excerpt and option to "read more" link before they enter into the actual blog post?
It would be great if you could import the newsletter you sent out from Squarespace e-mail marketing into a blog post or have it automatically generate a blog post.
You may want to try and slow down. You are at 78 speed and this works for those that are familiar with this subject. BUT....your knowledge is lost by how fast you are talking. You will positively lose beginners within 3 minutes. Slow down!!!!
Dear commenter- a useful tip you might not know about is on any TH-cam video, if you hit the gear icon on the video (settings), then click playback speed, you can slow it down! 0.5 X is half speed, there are two other speeds of slowness and you can also speed it up for videos that have people who talk too fast for your personal preference!
I was watching another tutorial and the TH-cam creator said to go to options but it does not have the options button for me. Can you tell me why? (For context I am doing a presentation for a class assignment and need to make a website)-currently on free program
Fabulous question! And what a great class assignment! Squarespace recently changed their interface & menu items look a little different - sooo top tip for you, hit forward slash & you can search for a menu item if you can't see it where a tutorial video recorded a little while ago says it should be :) Good luck!
Thanks for the video, how do I add my profile pic to my blog (just like you have in min 3:00). You have a picture , name and some content at the bottom of the blog.
@@iankristofer1 I think your best bet is Squarespace live Chat! They’re genuinely super helpful. As I can’t see your site myself, it’s hard to say what it is!
Is the Blog Page created using Classic Editor? Or is this in Fluid Engine? I've been trying to create a blog post template but in Fluid Engine, you cannot wrap text around an image (only in Classic Editor can you wrap text, which is so frustrating). Additionally, what if I want to add a video or an Audio track in the Blog post?
Fabulous question Elaine! All blog posts are still in Classic Editor, even if other parts of your site are upgraded to Fluid Engine so you ought to have the text-wrap function (sometimes it can be a bit tricky to see it coming up, but keep dragging your block & it should eventually show! Oh & for the other block types - they should be there when you add a block, you can scroll through the options, or start typing in the search box for them & they should pop right up!
@@PaigeBrunton thanks so much Paige; I finally figured this out (took way too long!). It's really clunky and time consuming if you have multiple posts for multiple clients. WordPress is so much easier for blogging, I must say! Sure wish SquareSpace developers would go back and make some basic core functionality improvements (on blogs, and especially portfolios, which are extremely limited in SquareSpace!) Anyway thanks for your help!
Hi, Paige. First of all, Thank You. Your Squarespace tutorials have been a treasure trove. Your Canadian voice sounds so much easier on my English ears than many American voiceovers. I could tell you were Canadian because you refrained from using words like "awesome", "stoked", "Super-Happy", and "massive" to a minimum! My first question may seem strange, but I will explain in a minute. How do you keep talking non-stop? Do you use a teleprompter? I ask because I have so much difficulty running more than a few words together for my TH-cam channel videos. Finally, any suggestions about the design of a website to promote my TH-cam Channel would be not only unexpected but "awesome"! Thank you again.
😂😂😂 too funny! I appreciate the appreciation of my Canadian ways. And yes, my secret is indeed a teleprompter! I have one called the Parrot teleprompter which is exceptionally easy to use & portable, so I’d definitely recommend it!
And for your question, I’d just ensure you have your primary call to action locations on your site be to your channel then if that’s the primary goal of the site! (Button in top Navigation, sections promoting the channel throughout your home page, maybe in the footer too, create a blog post which goes along with every video, etc.)

Which plan on Squarespace is best to start with? Personal or Business?
You can use it for both but e-commerce business is easier to handle with Squarespace
I really want to hear this, but you are speaking a thousand miles an hour and my brain cannot keep up. Sorry
Very valuable information.
Just a little slower speech, not so rushed please ❤
So appreciate the feedback! Do have a peek at some of my newer videos - I've been workin' to slow things down!
I appreciate you creating this guide, it's insightful and helpful for individuals navigating the entry into blog space/seo etc.

Great place for Beginners to start. 😍
Thank you very much 👍

you skipped over the tags and categories. The categories for blog posts do not work in 7.1 So good luck creating summaries.

Can you convert an existing page into a blog page? I have a bunch of articles that nee to be collapsable.

Fabulous question! You need to toggle on author profile (which you set up in your main Squarespace user settings) & that'll show up for you!
my blog options on squarepace don't look anything like your video? and I didn't have template options? help!
Do you have a website built on Squarespace from a few years ago? You might be on an older version of Squarespace?
