    I got the mr coffee espresso machine because I'm a college student and I'm not about to spend $400 on an espresso machine just yet lol. But I have to say it's still better than the drip coffee that I usually make. I could drink the espresso black and instead of tasting burned like what my drip coffee tastes like it just tastes like nice and strong coffee. I'll consider saving up for a nicer machine, but for now I'll stick with my $40 machine. Thanks for the comparison video

    Thank you for this video! I ended up buying this cheap little machine and it’s great for what I need it for (caffeine). I work in a hospital and there’s a Starbucks downstairs in our cafeteria that I always buy a 4 shot mocha and it costs like 5 dollars, and this is a way to save money. I work in surgery so I’m there early and late, and I’m a student as well so I need quick caffeine. It definitely isn’t the greatest espresso in the world, and I guarantee most people would call this a solid 1/5 machine, but for me it’s perfect. Quick caffeine, I can make my mochas at home for a fraction of the price, and I really don’t taste so much of a difference that I care too much. My palate is pretty weak lol.
    If you’re a college student on a budget I would recommend it, but if you have some more money I’d say splurge a bit and get a higher quality machine, pretty much just as the video said to do. But I think this machine is perfect for me specifically: someone who doesn’t know what good coffee actually is and doesn’t want to spend 5-10 bucks a day at a cafe.

    I came across your video and it made me laugh. We have a breville barista Express, the $900 model (same innards as this one, just added grinder) which is one of our top five favorite possessions we own. Motor or pump broke and it's going in the mail to breville on Monday. In the meantime I bought this exact Mr espresso machine to substitute while our good machine is being repaired. Thanks for the review!!

    * * THIS IS IMPORTANT * *
    The Mr. Coffee Espresso Machine manual states that you should fill the Portafilter with coffee to the desired line (2 or 4 shot), THEN press the coffee down. You had way too much coffee in the Mr. Coffee machine. The velocity of the steam through the coffee was too slow to get a good result.

I've never made anything other than instant coffee before, so I think I might get the Mr. Coffee and make some lattes and cappucinos (maybe some Americanos, but tbh I'm not as big of a fan of those for most kinds of coffee).

    I'd love to see the breville up against one of those 15 Bar machines that are for sale all over the place under different brand names (Mr. Coffee even has one). They are normally around $100 and they tend to make some really good shots if you know the machine and it has a Manuel extraction feature.

    You didn't need to correct yourself from calling the coffee in the portafilter to "espresso." It's not espresso as it is sitting there in your portafilter. It's coffee. The resulting liquid is espresso, or to be more exact espresso-brewed coffee.

    The whole point of espresso is that supposedly the high pressure water system extracts a superior and stronger flavor from the grounds. Before attempting a review like this one you should have gone to a coffee shop such as Starbucks and familiarized yourself with the "proper" flavor of espresso. Then you should have used a kitchen scale to put the exact same amount of grounds into each machine.
