Dave, and anyone reading this comment, its such a healthy attitude to see yourself as always growing and learning and changing and to approach all things with a sense of gratitude. Those are the things that lead to a fulfilling life and are far more important than any money/fame/anything transient could ever be. Following that internal sense of purpose leads to different places that you may not see coming, but will give you the validation and fulfillment in this life that we all only get one chance at. That ending heartfelt talk was an interesting item, I have been watching you on youtube for 3 years now but only started subbing in twitch via my free primes for 9 months now. Your an awesome guy with a good attitude the main reason I chose you over other people I watch on youtube to sub.
I‘ve been watching you ever since you played Mario Odyssey. I loved that and I love you playing SMM. And I really like you and your cheerfulness. You‘re one of my favorite TH-camrs. Probably my favorite right now. Thanks for what you do! Much love!
Hi, Dave! I understand if you don’t remember me from the stream but my user is Bronoui. I just re-subbed yesterday and had let you know about how you got me through some dark times. I genuinely meant that ❤️ my apartment had just been sold and my lease was cut off unexpectedly. I moved in with boyfriend where we found out we were pregnant. We had to move back to my home state due to housing issues where I lived. And needless to say, it was rough lol. But I had just discovered you at that time. And I watched you whenever my anxiety kept me up all night. Whenever I was having a rough day. I even watched you right when I came home after losing the baby. I needed to take my mind off the hurt and you were there to cheer me up ❤️ You totally do more for the community than you think you do. And I know tons of other people agree ❤️ keep up the great work Dave. You’re a genuine soul.
I followed you June 2019, I don't remember which "SMM 1 event" was happening but was a run between streamers, I only knew/used to watch Ryukhar, but I think one main channel was showing on screen all participants and there it was, DGR Dave struggling in the run but what captivated me about you was your personality and good "vibe", not saying you are a bad player but I do think your personality speaks louder than your mario's skills. Thank you for this almost 3 years of entertainment!
So cute to hear dave speaking french. By the way, the title of this level means "Back and Forth Mansion" : "Manoir" means "Mansion" and "Allées Venues" is a French expression that could be translated "comings and goings" but means "back and forth". Just a little french lesson, doesn't hurt
As long as we're learning, we're always growing. I appreciate you so much man. You, JRose11, and CALLMEARJ have been the light when I find myself in darkness. I hate for this to sound so sappy and sad, but it's true. I'm sorry if I ever said anything bad to you. You're awesome 😎
i always find it so funny that a majority of the doubters, and maybe even some of the believers, accuse dave of cheating when he pulls up the level viewer to get past levels like the one with the dev star despite their chances of winning being practically guaranteed in those sorts of levels unless dave can magically find out how to beat it. "how dare you use the level viewer to find an invisible block in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no indicators whatsoever in a level full ways for mario to die!"
100% THIS. Only the trolls care whether or not he uses the level viewer. I would personally rather he use the LV to get through a level, as opposed to watching him die over and over because he can't find the invisible block.
Completely agree. In my mind, whenever a level designer resorts to those kinds of gimmicks - hidden blocks that no one would ever find normally, putting the correct exit out in the middle of YOLO county, softlocks, etc. - then they're cheaters themselves who artificially increased the difficulty unfairly, so it's only fair game to counter cheat in those cases.
Love ya Dave. What's cool about your channel and your stream is that you make it feel like it did back in those early days when you only had a couple hundred viewers at most. This community is so great and so welcoming, and I am proud to be a long time member. Can't wait to see what the future holds for you brother, we are on this ride together through thick and thin!
I discovered this channel because I wanted to find someone that made Mario maker content because I didn't know anyone that did, but now, I genuinely don't even care what you upload, if it's from you I know it's gonna be great, I just like the way you are, your comments, your humor, everything, you are the best!
After all the troll levels messing with him, it's easy to forget that Dave is legitimately REALLY good at this game. Dude made a super expert level look like endless normal
@@daniell5740 Ehh, he's better than average, I'd say. I was actually watching thinking about how far he has come in terms of skill. I remember his "practice MM1" videos before MM2 came out, and it was...not so great. He's improved a ton since then.
Lucky I stuck around for the last 3 minutes. Having worked with Dave in-person for years I can tell anybody who only knows him from the stream that what you see is what you get in real life. He's an amazing person to know and be around and I'm so thrilled he's done as well as he has doing this.
I started watching all the way back in 2017 in the Mario Odyssey days and I've stuck around even until now. I stayed not just because Mario is cool and you're funny, of course that is a plus haha, but you're just so wholesome and humble and it's not often that you find that staying the whole time. Sometimes people change when they find success and sometimes it's for the worse. You're not like that and it's great to see that. When people stay the same regardless of growth, then you know that they're someone special. I'm glad that I've been able to see this all of this unfold. Thank you for all that you do.
1)Level viewer isn't cheating. I was a Nintendo Power subscriber way back in the days of NES and SNES (showing my age, here but whatevs). It's no different from strategy guides. if you didn't punch in any codes or alter the game's programming, you didn't cheat. 2) that heartfelt outro. Right in the feels. You've been a source of light in these dark times, spreading joy with you mad skills as well as your epic fails. I hope you keep doing what you do for a long time. We love you, Dave.
Dave, I just wanted to say thank you for your content. I suffer heavily from insomnia and always have to find some type of comfort videos to watch to be able to fall asleep, your videos have some sort of rhythm to them that really helps me relax and eventually fall asleep. And they're incredibly entertaining too, I watch during regular day hours as well! Keep up the great work, it is much appreciated ❤️

As an entertainer Dave you've shown us with so much humble nature that it's ok to be a dingus from time to time and, even though I'll probably never get to know you in person, I too am thankful for the kindness you brought with you on this journey. I doubt it'll end anytime soon good sir
That was a really nice n humble way to end. Those qualities are a big part of why I follow Dave. Those…and the copious amount of failed DGR guarantees.

Wow, didn't expect that ending. Heartfelt, went right into my spines. Felt special and perfectly timed after learning that The Black Dahlia Murder's singer had committed suicide. Dave is awesome. No doubt about it.

You might not be as skilled as Panga (finds the number 69 hilarious, plus other toilet humour) or Carl Sagan (shouting and swearing doesn't suit his high intellect, but I liked the puzzle solving), but you are more likeable as a person. Keep going, man.
Anybody notice in that level with the hidden star at the end, there was a star that came out of the pipe just as DGR cleared the level? Check between 8:40-8:45 in the video. It’s useless, just something I noticed.
