You have a good eye for seeing what looks good in your e-books. Thank you for this video. I'm sure I will watch it many times to glean all I can from it. :)
Dawn, this is what I've been looking for regarding selecting the right platform! You made it a user-friendly way to get started easily. Thank you and new subscriber.
You can also use CTRL + ALT + 1 for heading 1, CTRL + ALT + 2 for heading 2, etc. Thank you for this tutorial, it was exactly what I needed and very clear and easy to follow.
I learned a lot. I was looking for the way to upload to Amazon KDP. I created in Canva and now only have a pdf file. It was great to learn some google doc info along the way and I like learning how to create it there first. You are a great teacher. Thank you
Canva's drag and drop make it easier to create an ebook. But for longer ebooks it can be time consuming for some, so using Google Docs could be an option.
This is extraordinary! Very understandable. Thank you very much! Please can you share how one can design the background of an ebook using Google docs? Thank you.
Excellent video Dawn, one of the best I have seen. Quick questions, will downloading an ePub change the format especially if I have added images. Also, can a PDF have clickable links or only an ePub? Many thanks again, I have subscribed.
Hello Anne. Thanks for subscribing and welcome to my channel. Yay!!😃 I am not sure whether downloading in epub will change the format if you have images as I've never had to do this before but definitely downloading it in PDF will keep the links clickable.
Thank you so much! I have learned so much from this. I also realized that I can basically do creating an Ebook without using Designrr. I just bought recently Designrr because of the interactive table of contents. But I encountered a problem with image uploading. My projects were stalled. Clearing my browser's cache did not solve the issue. The support group cannot correct the problem either. I think I can do well just having canva and google docs .
thank you for the awesome step by step. I have a question if i want to use my own photos in my recipe ebook can i take photos of the product bought ingredients with their branded packaging on the ingredients or take photos of the ingredients ina separate clear container without the packaging?
I use font size 11. Ultimately the goal has to be providing an enjoyable reading experience for your target audience. So I would suggest that you get a group of beta readers from your audience and create sample ebooks with varying font sizes and test it on them to determine which size works best for your content and audience. Then take that feedback and adapt and improve.
Hi Dawn. Thank you for one of the best tutorials I came across, honestly. Quick question for you: can you make a tutorial on how to upload a pdf on Etsy, please? I am trying to do it for the last couple of hours and it's still "thinking". Not to mention that the photos for the product are, apparently, not the right size (I've tried 500x500 px, Item Listing - according to Canva 800 × 1,000 px, 2000x2000 px and I still get the big, yellow exclamation mark that is not right). I tried to find more info on the subject, but I wasn't able to find any. I think your tutorials will be able to clarify all these questions that are not answered and it would be very beneficial for all beginners! Thank you again!
Hello Dana. Thanks for watching and glad this video could help you. I don't use Etsy so unfortunately I'm not the best person to help you but I'm sure that there are other YTbers who specifically focus on Etsy that you can look at.
@nobsbaking6391 I like using a font size between 10-12 pt. Depending on where you'll share your ebook you want to make it readable so I think these are good sizes to start.
@hopelambert1509 it's one of the correct formats that you can use. It's not the only correct format and is dependent on what features you want or the device you use to view the book. So epubs can be used on ereaders. Pdfs or docx on mobiles or desktop. It just depends on where you want to view it.
Excellent information...new subscriber here. Just completed a daily planner on Canva for the year of 2023...only to realize that 200 pages is the maximum. I thought I would be able to merge the remaining 165 pages from the second pdf, but it doesn't work like that. 200 pages MAX (whether it's a separate document or not). Do you think I could transfer it simply to Google Docs, and be able to then download as the full daily yearly planner, without starting from scratch?
Hey, thank you. Google "Merge PDF" and you'll find online software that can help you combine the two pdf docs without starting from scratch. The one i use is www.ilovepdf.com/ let me know how it turns out :)
@@DawnMarieNesbitt Just read your response. When I Googled and tried some sites before...every time I tried to merge, it said my files were over the limit in MBs (I believe it was the terminology). I will check out this site. But thanks again...I appreciate you responding either way.
Hi Sarah you'll need to host the ebook first on a hosting provider like Google, WordPress or Amazon, then take the URL they give you and share it to your status.
Please ma, am finding it difficult to download ebook cover to my google doc where I have my ebook content. That has been holding me from publishing my book. Please help

Hi! Thanks for the lesson! But tell me, shouldn't the content of the book be clickable so that the buyer can navigate to the pages on his device?
